I started out in a 20 also. I'm 5'6 and started at 220 lbs. Fortunately, I never threw away any of my old clothes as I was coming up. I was a size 9/10 until I was in my late 30's then start up the sizes. 11/12, 14, 16, 18, to 20. I've lost 71 lbs since Jan 1st. The gain has been over the past 20 years so I've thrown my…

Hi, late(ish) of the group, 57. Started in November, half-assed, not knowing much. Lost 5 lbs during the holidays. Got serious Jan 1st and I'm down 57 lbs. Still don't know that much as I'm staying just under 1,200 cals/day and I think I'm robbing myself of nutrition. Added a lot more Fruits & Veggies lately and feel…

I had surgery for my Clavical/AC joint problem. Had a lot of pain prior and some days were good, some were bad. Nothing in particular helped but it depended on the day. Finally had Arthroscopic Surgery. They went in and shaved off part of the clavicle so the pressure and tearing stopped. Took a few days to heal from the…

I started at 220 and, as of this morning, have lost 48.5 lbs of my 70 lb goal. I was not losing at 1,200 cal/day. I meticulously weigh food by the gram and log everything that goes in my mouth. I check and recheck nutrition labels against the USDA food database as there is a lot of incorrect info out there. I'm obsessed…

MFP allotted me 1,200 cal/day which only allowed me 45 grams of sugar. I was eating fruit but realized the sugar content put me waaaaay over my sugar goal so I cut them out completely for months. I've recently had a stall in weight so I now only eat 1,000-1,100 cals per day, which brings my carbs way down. I'm at a loss as…

Hi Delaney, I'm Kathy. I'm much older than you at 56 but in the same boat. I ballooned up to the 230's due to emotions, overeating, and being sedentary. I started MFP in November at 220 and only lost 5 lbs through the holidays. Jan 1st, that changed. I got motivated and have lost 48.5 lbs with 21.5 to go. I will add you as…
