  • At 7 weeks it's 4.28 lbs which is exactly 1% per week. Which is the beginning border of an aggressive loss. Also consider that a 428 lb person loses far more water than a 200 lb person when cutting carbs.
  • Round it to 9 weeks that's 3.3 lbs a week. At 428 lbs that's a 0.77% loss per week. So it's like a 200 lb person losing 1.5 lbs a week. Its a standard loss by most calculations.
  • Good luck on your journey...
  • 428 lbs is a special circumstance. That seems like a reasonable rate of loss
  • If you keep plugging away ... why do you expect your results to be different? Buy a food scale
  • Are you getting any data to track if you are retaining muscle? You'll get a lot of woo's for "losing too fast" on here. I did every 2 weeks tests on a latest gen. Inbody... always first thing a.m. after rest day, same clothes, etc etc It showed 30 lbs lost in 100 days and only 0.7 lbs of muscle loss; which I am super proud…
  • How do you bench 300 pounds? ...22 grams at a time. * insert protein drink into photograph *
  • As you stated the goal of losing 70 lbs I would gently remind that weight loss is 20% your activity ovel and 80% what goes in your mouth. Absolutely work out (for other reasons) ... but if the overall goal is weight loss, be strict about your food consumption. "You can't outrun your fork"
  • This is easily the strangest placement of the word "whom" I have ever seen.
  • It's simple. But simple does not mean easy
  • I try to always remind myself I am weak-minded. We as humans are incredibly weak minded. Through acceptance of this do we find the self-awareness that gives us ability to overcome. "See the man who fear he's a fool? Well, he be the wise man..."
  • What is your activity level set to? That will determine how many steps you have to get before you go into bonus calories.
  • I'm 35, have lost 32 lbs, need to lose ten more. Focussing on fitness more than weight loss now though. Anyone please add me.
  • No. It reads the vibrations of your foot strike and has an algorithm that will still count steps even if your arms are at your side... or clasped in front of you (such as pacing while giving a speech)
  • 50£ is a tight market to fit. Do you want it to tell you your caloric burn ? Do you want it to monitor your heart rate? I had 2 cheap activity trackers, before finally deciding to bit the bullet and get a garmin watch. If heart rate matters, be aware; while most of the cheaper watches will let you test your heart rate,…
  • 92 beretta GT. Driving down the trans canada a pickup truck in front of me lost it's muffler right onto the road... and i swerved SO hard to miss it. It was a lot scarier at the time I was like NOOOOOOOO in slow motion.
  • Pics or it didnt happen
  • 2 years ago I went ahead and entered a fight without the normal (6 month) cutting and training program. Did like 4 good weeks of bag drills and tried to eat less. I was 178 lbs. I usually fight at 144. I got destroyed. It humbled me to the core. That was the day I learned I'm not in my prime anymore, so I'm super nervous…
  • Everyone does IF, it's just a matter of how long (you sleep, don't you?) You say breakfast has been "proven" to be the most important meal. Can you site any kind of source on this? Both mayo clinic and harvard medical suggest otherwise. Also, do you have any links to studies showing metabolism for the day is higher when…
  • I am finished with my strict diet (lost 32 lbs), and moving on to fitness goals not just weight loss. So I rewarded myself with a garmin watch.
  • ^^ this very much reflects my feelings. But I dont want to be like "Oh, but I'm a former athlete, I wont get hurt!" And then be the laughing stock of the forum when I have to take a week off with crippling knee pain. And... I'm not 20 anymore by a long shot ... So I think this is a good place for due humbleness. And in…
  • Did you buy a heavy bag, or a speed bag? If you are talking about speed bag, since you already have the platform; I would recommend you get an extra large bag... like 12 or 13 inches. The larger bags have a nice resistance upon impact and i get a decent triceps burn etc. That would be your best bet for toning. Make sure…
  • @debrakgoogins I do see what you guys mean... ... I don't have ten weeks to train, (this whole challenge was a bit spur of the moment), so I was trying to accelerate the beginning a bit. I'll taper back to the planned amounts, which equates to repeating the week i just did and moving forward with the plan from there.
  • I'd say you look 18% b.f. maybe 17. Are you doing planks and core work ? Depending on dosage; dark Chocolate is better for you than porridge. Maybe you need to study macros and cico a little more deeply. It is much more about quantities of foods than types of foods. Abs take a long time, we often hold our very last fat…
  • Also me nearly every weekend
  • ^^ right, I'm looking at the plan and realizing I'm just doing week 3 as week 1. I guess i was super intimidated at doing something new and different... I start literally every boxing session with 2 miles on the treadmill, so I was in a bit better shape than I gave myself initial credit for. I'm a still worried about maybe…
  • It's not that I know better than him... it's that I'm not coming off the couch... even just a 5k is a huge step down from my normal workout routine. Hal's week 1 workouts are equivilent to my typical warmup routine. I'm sure in 3 or 4 weeks itll all balance out.
  • I am following the Hal Hidgons 10 weeks to 10 miles plan (or 15K)... the general trend is: Monday: run Tuesday: cross train Wednesday: stretch and strength Thursday: run Friday: cross train Saturday: run + weights Sunday: rest. As of now i'm just doing 1 mile more than the plan calls for for all the runs. i seem to be in a…
  • Plodded out another 5k on the treadmill today. Did 2 miles at 7 mph, walked a short stretch, then jogged 6.5 mph to finish 3 miles. Then walked the remainder for an even 500 calorie burn (3.3 mile). I practiced matching my cadence to the music... some songs were perfect, others were super awkward. I can definitely see the…
  • That really helps to think ... I am not training myself for power output ... I'm training efficiency and low energy consumption. That helps me a lot to think of it this way... eye opening really So I can, in a way, be proud that "I didnt even get tired" on a nice even paced jog.
