@zeejane4 ... i have seenthe lean gains program. The results they profess are astonishing if the goal is to have a shredded muscular look

@L1zardQueen and @nutmegoreo This is getting outside the scope of what i first intended from this thread... But i did a five day fast earlier in the year... and i had a large raised scar from a puncture wound on my calf... i had it for years. 2 days after my fast ended i noticed it was completely flat. 2 weeks after it was…

Slightly off the originally intended topic ... but my fasts are design for the reduction of scar tissue through autophagy not just the reduction of fat specifically. Obviously losing 12 lbs of fat would be cool too.

I've done a lot of research ... and discussed it with my doctor... and regularly see a registered dietician. In my specific circumstance, It is my understanding that with blood glucose over 70 and ketones about 3.0, that the fast is still beneficial. I was curious what the general popular opinion was ... abstracted from my…

^^ you will not find a better expert than dewd. If all you care about is calories burned, don't bother with adjustments for pace. But as a second measure of fitness ... how many calories per hour you can burn is deeply complex, involving vO2 max and lactic thresholds... and the strength of your parasympathetic system as a…

I do 80% of my runs over my lunch hour @smcurtis1981. Yaaaas!!
-
@Annie_01 ... yes ... definitely listening to my body and eating normally this week. It's the main reason i posted. I wasn't sure if it was a glycogen depletion issue or etc. @Kathryn247 ...i do near-OMAD in my non fasting days. If you have time, what problems from fasting were you refering to? Again, i am only looking at…

I'd look at how much time you have available to commit. I often can only steal away an hour (80% of my runs are over lunch break at work). So i have worked in some higher intensity intervals. I like to do a hard mile then run tired and practice my active recovery. Doing this i have raised my recovery pace from 6:00/km to…

For me ... a friend posted some pics of me at a pool party and made some pretty mean comments. Guys are tough with eachother and i get that ... and ... he was right. I was an athlete. I boxed pretty seriously in college. But then life, kids, office job ... depression... i am up 55 lbs from my fighting weight. So what…

Work ... kids ... life ... These are the reasons i have decided to focus on my 10k times for this season with the odd half thrown in for fun. I want to do a marathon...but i just can't give it the time it needs.

@boehle your meal prepping skills are all the adulting things that i wish i was ...

I'm new'ish to running and also interested in when the speed gains become incremental... so i have been tracking my own: January 24'th i started tracking my times ... i did 2 miles in 24 minutes on my first "timed run". by mid February i did 5K in 28:31 and 10K in 62:20 mid march i did 5K in 26:45 and 10K in 54:30 mid…

I ran a 10k yesterday. Was supposed to be my steady distance day, but i got this concept in my head of sprinting and efficiency... and decided to try three building speed drills. I got up to 2:50/km ... which is a 4:32 mile so i was super stoked: Pace graph shown: Granted i held it for like 20 seconds, but it felt good,…

@boehle ... mine would look pretty dumb with one medal and 1 pair of shoes.. but youve earbed yours !

Rediculously cool idea!!

I signed up for a 5k on may 18th. And got actual running shoes. While i was there the girl at the store said "if you care about your time, dont do the vineyard run. The terrain is brutal with roots and rocks. " Well I'll go and have fun and enjoy some wine after at the vineyard.

Chocolate was a big craving for me through November... What i did was i set up a mini-game. Every time i had a low weigh in, i rewarded myself with 2 rows of dark chocolate with my morning coffee. Few things: 2 rows was 230 cals. Easily workable into my day. First thing in the a.m. i got the most bang for my buck for my…

I know it doesn't make up for what i did this afternoon ... but me knee was feeling better so i went for a jog... 10k in 52:52 and then some walk/jog cooldown. Pain was about a 4/10. Hurt, but i could deliberately keep going.

They are pricy ... but they are a block from work, and seriously the fries are delish. But that was my typical whole day's calories.

Totally 5 guys !!! Yeah ... i plan on reasonably re-feeding today (i fasted mon and tues) ... being very modest thursday ... and friday is my Bday so dinner will be rediculous. Then comes the every weekend "just dont drink ... okay just one beer ... okay one more" tango.

Had a friend stop by my office today and insist we go out to lunch ... the place we were going to go was closed until noon (it was 11) ... so we ended up getting burger and fries. I feel so gross right now. The good news is my knee feels quite a bit better so i plan on running at least some of it off after work. Im aiming…

You already know how impressed i am by you. You are ... statistically rare. And i mean that from the bottom of my brain.

^^ the best probiotics are in kimchi and a good raw yoghurt. You can eschew the pills if you are eating plenty of raw live foods. But prebiotics matter too . Resistant starches and fibers.
