There is a maxim which I love and live by. It is "you cannot manage what you cannot measure". In our case we need to weigh ourselves often and frequently. I weigh myself every day and always at the same time. I then check-in the weight reading into the MyFitnessPal. You can see a graph for the last week, month, 180 days…

That is a great article. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks WL. I was worried about the replies I would receive but your reply restored my faith. My goal is to do 10 pulls up. At the moment I cannot do a single one. I spent everyday in June doing 100 sitsups and 100 press-ups. I spread them out over the day and I basically do a rep that is a number I reach when I hit a…

Great advise, thanks :) I am in day 111 now and feel more compelled to maintain my weight at this level. One benefit I have found, I want to chisel out a six pack. The good thing about losing weight is you can see the immediate effects of exercise. Before, any effects of sits ups etc would be hidden underneaths layers of…

Cricky !!!! Sorry I didn't mean to start an argument. I was just happy to finish my project and I wanted to share my happiness. Perhaps pass on somethings I learnt ?? To address the queries. I did not count exercise in my challenge. Losing weight is all about calorie intake I would suggest, I feel exercise simply helps you…

I have finally reached the end of my 100 day challenge. The challenge was to record my weight everyday, to eat less than 1500 calories a day and I added no beer or bread. I am very happy with the result Dropped from 85kg (187pound) to my ideal bmi weight of 73.6kg (162 pound). A drop of 11.4kg (25 pound). Just a simple set…

Just a fortnight to go before I reach the end of my 100 day challenge :) Then it is beer time

80 days in. 20 days to go. Lost 11kg which is 24.5 pounds in old money. Hope to hit my ideal BMI before the end of the 100 days.

Each to their own. I weigh myself daily, always at the same time. I then log the weight in this MFP and I like to see the report graph build up. It also allows me to understand my body and try to identify things that have an effect. You cannot manage what you cannot monitor.

Hello mate. I have found that setting a time limit to a project always helps me focus. 49 days ago I started my 100 day challenge. In short I have to limit my calorie intake to less than 1500 calories a day and weigh myself everyday. As a bonus I added that I will not drink alcohol or eat bread. 49 days later and I have…

I am in the 42nd day of my 100 day challenge. In short, I have to watch my calorie intake and weigh myself everyday. I also added 'no bread' and 'no alcohol'. Exercise (calorie outtake) I don't really consider. The important thing is what calories I am taking in and making sure they dont go over 1500 calories per day. Hope…

Over 21 days ago I started my 100 day challenge. In short to monitor and manage all my calorie intake. I added a goal to not eat bread or drink alcohol. I find putting a deadline on a project helps keeps you focussed. You are welcome to add me as a friend - perhaps you can start a 75 day challenge and we can celebrate…

The 100 day challenge is to stay under the calorie intake allowance, and to log continuously for 100 days. To give up alcohol and bread stuff is just an add-on I gave myself. I know that I love those things but they have an awful effect on me. :)
-
The trick is to stick to your daily calorie allowance. This allows you to eat whatever you like. My advise is eat smaller portions. For example one teaspoon of icecream may be enough to stop the craving.

85 days to go. It is usually around this time I wain and give up. However this time I feel stronger and more determined.
-
88 days to go :) Feeling better already
-
Everyones journey is personal and you find out the best way for you. For me, I like to watch the graph, of daily weight, slowly drop :) 99 days to go :):) Feel free to invite me as a friend on this journey.

Whoops. I miswrote. I meant weigh yourself everyday, always at the same time, and log it.
-
My suggestion - Log EVERY day. Always at the same time.

19th May 2021 - 100 days, The finish line. 21st Feb 2021 - Two weeks into the challenge which is usually the time I stop doing stuff 30th Mar 2021 - 50 days into the challenge.
-
Just returned and currently only at 5 consecutive days. I have set myself a 100 day challenge. Happy to invite others on this challenge :)

Ohh. I have never tried Beer with Cornflakes. ...Cornflakes with Vodka? The best. :)
-
I wouldn't call that a mistake although I do find beer is a more pleasant breakfast drink. :-)
-
I with you man. If you knock the eff out of life you will just be left with a lie :-)
-
I find that I can go for two weeks before I begin to fail.
-
My biggest mistake is not being able to control my foodaholic tendencies. If I have one piece of cake, I end up eating the whole cake. If i intend to have one biscuit I end up eating the whole packet. One spoon of pasta and sauce ends up being ten spoons, you get the idea of the problem.
-
I think my biggest mistakes have been giving in to temptation. The problem starts with the single piece of chocolate/ biscuit/ cake and ends up being far more than originally planned. Also giving yourself a reward for doing so well is the first step down the slope of shame. :)

@laurenq1991 I hope you acquaintance is doing well. @pogiguy05 I borrowed Dwayne's picture since I have been told we could be dopplegangers. Whenever I tried to upload a picture the system reported me to the ugly police.
