  • I've ben sick since Thursday so it has put my running to a complete HALT! I see some of you guys catching up to my week 6! Today is the first day that I've started to feel a little better so hopefully I will be running by the end of this week!
  • I'm in the middle of week 6 and I LOVE it. I don't see any cons to it. I mean.....I just ran 20 min straight the other day! Crazy! It TOTALLY works and is SOOOOO do-able for ANYONE.
  • I was feeling all alone on here as well a wee bit ago! So I crashed the Spring C25K thread. I've got a cold so No running for me. Week 6 Day 2 is waiting for me.......
  • Running is a high impact sport so you definitely need to make sure that you get the right shoes for that. Do you know if you have flat feet? That could be contributing to your shin splints. They make neoprene sleeves that you should be able to get at a sporting goods store that you wear over your shins and that will help…
  • Yeah know.....the 3 min runs used to TOTALLY scare me but now they are like CAKE to me so it will be the same for alllllll of you for sure. The 20 min mark will seem daunting but you WILL get through it. I refused to let myself walk or slow down the time that I was running it because I REALLY wanted to it. I love the 5 min…
  • I'm working on it. I used to not be able to do regular push ups AT ALL but now I can pump out quite a few in a row so I think it's quite possible to keep working at the pull up and be able to accomplish it.
  • Alright alright.....I actually went and ran after my night class because I was feeling like such a slacker. Week 6 Day 1 COMPLETED. It was a little harder than I thought it was going to be because I think I let too many days go by in between this run and my last one. Day 2 of this week is 2 10 min runs with a break in the…
  • Ugh I have been such a slacker this past week. I only ran one day. I need to get back on track ASAP. I'm soooo close to finishing and I didn't do all this work to slack so much. BOOOOO ME!!!!!!!
  • Extra oxygen in something you are eating isn't going to do a damn thing fyi. A good recovery drink would be something that has a mix of carbs and protein in it to help replenish glycogen stores and to help rebuild muscle tissue. I also use super pump every now and then. I like the little boost it gives you.
  • For me modertaion is key. There are some peeple out there who have the attitude of "oh I just messed up my whole day or my whole week with this cheeseburger." and they fall off the wagon. I'm not one of those people. I can have that snack or that cheeseburger or that candy and know that I will be right back on track…
  • "No pain, No gain" is complete bullsh*t. You don't have to be sore after a workout to be getting a good workout.
  • Yup, I have the C25K app also! Freaking love the thing! I bought a itouch just so I could get that app!!
  • Absolutely true!
  • I burn about 100 cal every 10 min. The only way you will have somewhat of a good idea of what you are burning is with a heart rate monitor. It's definitely something worth spending your pennies on!
  • Hey shoes are SUPER important so don't feel bad about being a shoe fanatic at all! Just look at it like you're taking care of yourself!
  • You can find Enell bras on Ebay for around $35 and they are worth EVERY PENNY. Best bra ever.
  • Actually the science behind not stretching before is that you aren't warmed up at that time. There's a lot of debate and tons of scientific journals that say it's better to do it before AND after. I think it doesn't really matter as long as you get it in there somewhere. Be carefull with doing 2 a days with C25K and…
  • I started off using Robert's podcasts and I liked them but really wanted to use my own music. I got an ipod touch and was able to download the C25K app. It's pretty awesome and totally work the $2.99. It plays your own music and keeps track of your progress. I looooooove it! Week 6 day 1 today! Today is some shorter 8…
  • Exacccctly.......I've stopped drinking it before and didn't notice a difference at all as well.
  • Not necessarily, I bought a reebok XT for $40 on ebay and it's been working like a dream for the past 2 years.
  • I was doing the C25K new years thread but it seems to be that I am the only one on it now. I think everyone died off so I'm crashing this thread! I just finished week 5 day 3 yesterday. Ran 20 minutes straight! Awesome!
  • I can never say No to one of those things so it's good that I don't work at the physical therapy clinic anymore where patients would bring them to thank us for treating them.
  • Youhave such a small amount of weight to lose that it might take a while to lose it. Especially at .5lbs a week. That's probably why it's showing 0.0lbs lost.
  • I wish the stores had more varieties. They're expensive to order from their website. :grumble:
  • C25K TOTALLY worked for me. I ran 20 minutes straight today which is amazing for me. I have even decided to sign up for a 5K because of it. Just stick with the program and it will do wonders!
  • I agree with the C25K. I just ran 20 minutes straight tonight and I have NEVER been a runner. It eases you into running a half hour straight. I  the program. I plan on running the Disneyland 5K when I'm done.
  • Yiippee! Just made it through 20 min straight of running! AWESOME!
  • I've been putting off the 20 min run because I'm scared. I made it through the 8 minute intervals no problem but running 20 min straight sounds so scary to me!
  • We're gonna go down and try it tomorrow I think. We have our gel butt seat covers all ready!
