Buspar is another option.

There is a knee strap called a patellar tendon strap that you can wear that greatly reduces the amount of pain. NSAID's help as well as friction massage.
-
SSRI's have a tendency to cause weight gain whereas meds like xanax, ativan, or klonopin usually do not. Depends on what you are taking.

It took me a good month or two before the scale started moving but you could see difference in the measuring tape as well as in progress pictures. Make sure you do both and don't put so much weight on the scale numbers.

Agreed.

Guuuuuurrrrrl, I feel your pain, if it runs in the family, then there's not much you can do to get rid of it unfortunately. My whole family is pear shaped. They get thinner but there will never be a thigh gap. LOL. :s I am thankful that being pear shaped gives me a butt though so there are positives.

I had DEXA and BODPOD done within a day of each other and they reported exactly the same thing.
-
Most of my patient's have had the patellar tendon graft.
-
I just gave it up a month ago. Too much of a chemical *kitten* storm.

The grip of the kettle bell allows you to swing it around safely. The dumbbell makes a lot of the movements harder. Walmart has some decent prices on the kettle bells if they're around you.

I lift barefoot as well. :D

Check out some of the High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) programs. Those are a great option on either pieces of cardio equipment.
-
Lift and lift heavy I say!!!!!
-
I agree. I would focus on your body fat goals and not the weigh. Lifting weights can make the scale hard to budge BUT you will see big difference in your body fat %.
-
I wish people would throw out their scales. Body composition is so much more than that. You're losing inches and that is awesome. That means whatever you are doing is working.
-
Spot treating doesn't work unfortunately, but keeping up with you diet, including cardio and strength training will give your whole body a workout.
-
Go get either dunked, DEXA'd, or BODPOD'd to get a more accurate number for you body fat %. Bioelectrical impedance is known for being terribly inaccurate. Although, I will say that it is possible to be skinny fat. Once you have a more accurate representation of you body make up you can go from there.

I wish I had this problem. I always lose inches but the scale doesn't budge. :)

Use a foam roller. The lotions are just a topical treatment. Using the foam roller will work out the muscles. Are you sore from working out? If so, then stay away from any NSAIDS. They will stop the proliferation of your muscle cells which is what you are working for.

Here's a blurb on what it does physiologically. Creatine donates its high-energy phosphate to create ATP (adenosine triphosphate), which is used by the muscle for the rapid energy it needs for muscle contraction, such as during weight-lifting. Supplementing with creatine is reported to increase the content of PCr in muscle…

MrM27 is correct. Loading is not necessary anymore. It is meant to help combat fatigue so you can workout a little bit longer gaining more reps.

American Council on Exercise recommend 1 percent loss per month.
-
Agreed..just go in there and do your thing. They're too busy worrying about themselves to care about you. Get your work on!

Bodybuilding.com has a lot of good programs on their website also.
-
Definitely over-thinking it. Bodybuilding.com has TONS AND TONS of videos of all sorts of lifts so that would be a good place to do research. Make a workout plan, keep track of what you lift and don't be afraid to lift HEAVY!!!!!! I'm always like one of three girls in the weight room and I promise that everyone in there is…

Man, I wear them ALLLLLLL the time. I feel like I've gotten so fashion lazy but they're just so comfy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't stop!!!
