Thank you. This message was insightful, helpful and hit me on a personal level. This was something I needed today. After reading the replies on here, I think I have more of a plan now than I previously did. I have been eating 1,500 - 2,000 roughly since the turn of the year and have maintained like I was at 1,100-1,300.…

Thank you for the time you put in to your post, I appreciate it a lot. From November - January I was eating roughly the same amount of calories as I had been, that's why I'm questioning the plateau. I've been steadily losing since Jan 2020, I had a short stall of 4 weeks or so in June and then my body started letting go of…

Thank you! ☺️

Any further help or advice on this would be appreciated. I upped my calories for 2-3 weeks and was eating between 1,500 - 2,100 calories per day up from my previous of 1,100 - 1,300. I even went fully overboard, intentionally, for one day. I bought fast food - which I haven't done for months (i get no cravings for it at…

Thank you! For someone who hasn't been doing any weight or resistance training, and due to a previous illness I wasn't moving around a lot, where is a good place to start? I have resistance bands, a 16kg kettle bell and dumbbells up to 8kg. I've always struggled with this - how long each day should I start? I was doing…

Hi, thanks for taking the time to respond and sorry for taking a while to reply. I have actually done exactly that! I was eating at 1,100-1,300 calories for roughly 11-12 months and I was losing consistently. I lost between 70-75lbs and it has came to a halt. I haven't lost anything since November. I was skipping lunch…

As helpful as this chart is, I have already ran through it. I am constantly in contact with my GP regarding my health and have been for the last 2 years. I am just looking for advice from people who have gone through something similar, as I feel like I have tried everything. But I am clearly doing something wrong somewhere.

Hi, I have another question for you if you are still around. Again, sorry for the barrage of questions but you have been very helpful to me and I appreciate it. Where is best/what is the best method to calculate my TDEE and once I have calculated that, how many calories under that should I be eating for weight loss - 500?…
-
Thanks, I guessed as much. Looks like that was the case after all as my weight has returned to the "plateau" weight.

Hi, thanks again! The increased exercise has started around February, not in the previous 5-6 weeks. I am exercising as much now as I was then. Somedays its more, some its less. Oh, I have nothing to lose eating like this - Like i've said I have no problems with eating like this and it is now how I see me eating for the…

Also, I am struggling to even hit 2,000 calories per day even if I have fast food at all. No idea how I would eat 3,000+ if needed.

Hi, Thanks for your input. I am getting a little confused when it comes to what I need to eat to be at maintenance. I have calculated my BMR which is at 2,227 (I set this at lower activity so it is probably higher than this) and then I calculated my caloric needs on the same website (active.com) and it states I require…

Thank you. I have actually signed up for a Diabetes One Million Steps Challenge which is the equivalent of completing 19 marathons in 3 months. I am raising money for charity. Oh I absolutely know that something somewhere has to be off, because I was losing weight very quickly - it was melting off me without much effort. I…

Hey! I am wondering, how did you calculate your zig zag exactly, I am wondering if I am doing it correctly, just want to make sure. Thanks.
-
Thank you. I needed that. Do you think zig zagging calories is a good thing to do? I.e eat 1800 on Monday, 2100 Tuesday, 1750 Wednesday, 1900 Thursday, 1900 Friday, 2400 Saturday, 1800 Sunday type of thing? Numbers are just an example. Can a plateau happen by eating the same amount of calories every day for months, even if…

So, I didn't reply for a bit as I was experimenting. I have been trying to "ZigZag" my calories as I believe I may actually be eating too little for my weight - I am under no illusion that I still have A LOT of weight to lose, so eating 1,500 calories at my weight seems so low compared to what my body may have been used…

Hey! I select which one to use - so MFP is taking my steps from FitBit but does not include any calories burned from it. Any calories/exercise showing is coming directly from MapMyFitness.
-
Thanks - However with those I am taking the exact readings from their packaging. Most of these are vegan/veggie meals that come with specific readings on them, i.e, 1 burger, etc rather than 100g, 200g, etc.
-
Yeah I have, thanks I read over it again though. I don't actually think I eat that bad - like I said I've had a few days of fast food where I am still under my calorie goal. I log everything right down to any spices used and I use a scale. Weight melted off me for a few months and has just stopped now. I am not eating any…
-
Thanks, I'll check the scale. I actually just replaced the battery not long ago.
-
Yes.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Yeah, I updated my stats. At losing 2lbs per week MFP has me at 1,800 calories. At 1.5lbs per week I'm at 2,000. I also set myself lower carb and sugar goals.

Some other info: Height: 5'8 Starting Weight: 272.2lbs Current Weight: 246lbs Lowest: 243.8lbs I lost around 25-27lbs from December to the end of March. I have double checked and in April I have lost 1-2lbs in total. I am eating pretty much the same amount of calories, doing the same amount of walking/exercise. The weight…

Hey! Yeah, I use food scales. I also use the barcode scanner on the MFP app to make sure I am selecting the correct food in the app. I also double check calories, fat, etc on the label to the one on the MFP app to ensure it adds up. Secondly, thanks for the advice - I think I will combine this with the post above yours…

Thanks, I will take a closer look at the macros today and I appreciate the help.
