  • My gallbladder kicked off in my early 20's - they didnt know why, only that it became inflammed and never settled no matter what they gave me drugswise. I had to reduce fat a lot to prevent it from kicking off - I would say that leaving long gaps between eating AND drinking also made it more grumpy. So for me,…
  • For all the ladies with Reynauds - mine kicked in with peri-menopause which is clearly the gift that keeps on giving. This may be another reason for some along with the weight loss to have this come on. @seltzermint555 - Thanks for the tip on the heated gloves !
  • Hello there ! Just wanted to shared that I've been using Minoxidil on and off for a couple of years and its made an amazing difference to my hairline and the top part of my scalp. I'll never forget that awful feeling of seeing my scalp through my hair... What I do know for sure is that you arent meant to stop using it -…
  • Hello OP - Like all of us here, I am peri menopausal at 46 and have been for the last three years. I think one of the challenges is that we will all experience it differently and therefore what will help each of us is also likely to be different... That being said, I think there are some common themes ! Here's my…
  • Okaaaaaay - here we go ! 1. Both the WHO and the NHS recommend limiting ADDED sugar in anyones diet. From the NHS, the limit recommended is 30g per day for everyone over the age of 11 without any other criteria. That excludes fruit and veg but includes fruit juices. 2. Sugar has limited / if any nutritional value - this…
  • Hi OP - I have been through various cycles of Keto and do not get these symptoms. As discussed above, I add more salt to my food - as I tend to eat a lot of dark green veg on Keto, salt can only help :). I have also tried bone broth and that works a treat as long as there is some around when you need it ! Losing water…
  • My markers were meeting the pre diabetes criteria and were flirting with the T2 critieria in Feb this year - here in the UK, there is a lot of focus on trying to get the weight down first before drugs. In some areas, the NHS are trialling a monitored, very low calorie (yet nutritionally balanced) diet for a short period of…
  • I'm a Brit but living in Italy - good to meet you all ! I don't think there are that many Brits here
  • Well done on the weight loss and getting out for the walks ! x
  • @rvfamilyfour - congrats on finding a woe that works for you, losing 14lb and improving your markers.
  • Great muscle def ! What look are you going for with the cutting ? Cos its looking pretty good right now !
  • Well done OP ! I also think everyone has to find their way and that we all do so understanding the risks. Risks are potential, not asbolute outcomes - as we are all grownups, we make those decisions for ourselves and accept the consquences, good or bad. I think thats forgotten here sometimes. Here in the UK there is a big…
  • Same for me - it turned out my brain needed to have it proved to it that I didnt need to Eat All Day. My understanding of hunger has been reset which has then supported CICO overall.
  • I can't do the six small meals either - I had to play around with my timings and frequency. I now know for me, first meal has to be nailed with protein, fat and carbs. I eat brunch as my first meal and with the Brit cup of tea, it usually comes in at 500 - 600 calories. I then eat dinner with a treat on the end of it and…
  • This - with bells on.
  • Sign me up !
  • I am sorry for your loss - please be kind to yourself. x
  • Hello OP and I am sorry for your challenges - sounds like you are a fighter though ! As above, i would start with logging. Have you and your doctor talked about any form of anti-inflammatory diet ?
  • Food scale (and use it for everything!) and a tape measure - I've found physical measures and health markers to be more motivating than the body scales. Good luck OP - you've got this !
  • Well done !!
  • Well done on the busting the wall OP !
  • For future reference, eat something very fatty as your first food of the day. If you want to increase the chances of a clear out, have a hot drink with caffeine in it with the fatty breakfast. If you want to nail it, do some cardio after breakfast :) I wouldnt stray too far from a loo..... Hope you had a fab do !
  • I like bone broth - if it aint broke, dont fix it.....
  • Milk last as well :) and its safer to let a Brit put their own milk in too....not that we are particular about the whole tea thing............much.
  • Ooh baba ganoush - now thats a nice food ! Filling too !
  • I do this too and its been liberating !
  • Welcome to one of the most rubbish clubs ever ! Have you been to your GP / MD yet ?
  • Hello OP and welcome ! There are a couple of kitten Peri Menopause / Menopause threads which are a great place to offload on. My add ons based purely on what I am doing and to add to your nutritionists plan (great idea btw) is to walk your 10k steps every day, drink gallons of water, dump booze, calorie count, take D3 and…

  • Hello OP - lots of great suggestions here. Evenings are when I am sitting for longer too - is it possible for you to squeeze in another form of exercise in the evening at home or outside ? Also, I find a higher carb day is not as satieting as a more hflc day but that could just be me. I went through a stage of being snacky…
