Welcome to MFP! Weigh and log your food everyday--no matter how good or bad of a day you have. Be honest and be accurate. You're in this for the long haul, so get comfy and get logging!!

Congratulations on an amazing start!!!! Keep chugging along and those pounds will keep falling off. It's a grind a for sure!

My A1C was 5.6; which according to my doctor is pre-diabetic. She told me to lose weight and add exercise to my weekly regime--if I wasn't already exercising. Since that unfortunate blood work, I've lost about 27lbs. I haven't had my A1C retested yet as I haven't been back to the doctor. I need to make an appointment soon.

Thanks for sharing your journey with us! Congratulations on your successes!

Well done! You are such an inspiration. Would love to see you at the finish line!!

I picked a mid-range on the BMI scale for my weight. I don't really care about pants size, or how I look--I just want to be healthy.

If you can read and follow instructions. If you have access to the Internet; you have access to unlimited recipes. It sounds like you are making excuses. Sure it's easier to run out and grab some "flavorful" fast food, but how's that working out for you? $12K/year isn't a bad amount of income for someone not paying a full…

I drink 2-3 cups of coffee daily with pre-sweetened cream. I log both. I've lost 27lbs since 3/11. It's not the coffee. Unless you are drinking a very light roast (blonde) and/or filling your coffee basket full, you are likely not getting that much caffeine.

I usually opt for red wine, sparkling white, a "skinny" margarita, a cider, or a beer. The only drink I modify is the margarita. I can't stand "water beers" and they are a waste of calories for me because I don't like them. I'd rather make room in my daily caloric intake to have a nice stout or porter.

Food and weight scales.

It happens to me too. I raise my arms above my head and move them around a lot while I'm walking. I don't do wild movements because that can be counter-productive for me; I stick with controlled rhythmic arm/hand movements.

What do you like? What can you afford? What is available in your area? Do you have any food allergies? Are there any foods that you hate? What is your desired calorie range? How much protein? How many carbs? Are you vegetarian? vegan? What appliances do you have? Baked? Stovetop? Instant Pot? Crock Pot? Microwave? We have…

My last meal of the day is my big meal, so I usually have a protein shake or protein bar for lunch. The ones I buy (various brands) average 140-190 calories. I usually don't snack so I can have an 800-900 calorie dinner.

1.5 pieces of pepperoni pizza. Done. Bam.

I've never developed a palate for fast food, but I do pinch an occasional fry or last bit of burger from my housemate. I eat greasy pizza weekly (usually one XL pizza split between two of us over the course of two dinners); and it doesn't affect me at all because it's within my deficit and I guess I don't react negatively…

Quoted from AnnP: "Sweet potato and black bean soft tacos, with some kind of white cheese (cotija? queso fresco?) for those who eat dairy. A little tomatillo salsa won't hurt anything." I love Love LOVE the combination of sweet potatoes (diced) and black beans. I season mine with a home made taco seasoning if I'm using the…

Like most, I weigh first thing in the morning, nude and after using the toilet. BUT, it doesn't really matter when or how you weigh as long as you are consistent. If you want to weigh fully clothed with shoes after dinner--go for it. Just do it that way every time. Your clothing, retained meals, retained fluids, etc. are…

Coconut oil and almond oil make me itch like crazy, especially on my back--whether or not I've applied them to my back. Oddly, I can eat coconut and almonds in all forms, but cannot have them on my skin. Maybe something similar in your case?

I struggle on the daily to hit fiber, potassium, iron and sodium.

Get your own place? Or buy your own refrigerator and stand-alone pantry and only eat the foods you stock?

She alone is the physiological anomaly who eats a strict 700cal/day diet and gains weight.

I had mine out years ago. I haven't noticed any difference before or after having it out with anything dietary related.

We have no idea what you like; if you have any allergies; what's available in your area; what your budget is; etc. YOU are the best person to figure out some 500 calorie meals for yourself! I could come up with all kinds of meals, but I would be wasting my time if you didn't like them; didn't have the ingredients…

Calories mostly. Followed by protein, fat, and carbs.

I agree with the majority of the suggestions you've already received. Expand on your Crockpot recipes and invest in an Instant Pot and a wok! Lately I've been loved diced sweet potatoes with beets and Brussel sprouts either cooked on the stove top or roasted in the oven or on the grill. Another favorite is diced sweet…

I find it fun to play with, but I don't know how useful it has been for me. I guess it does help me some. I found my baseline number of steps a day and now I have to make a plan to go up from there. I have a friend who is an ultra-marathon runner and she thinks step trackers are hilarious! She runs for six hours/day…

Thanks for the tip! I'll look for that particular brand the next time I shop!

Agree with the above poster. Your next move should be counseling to improve your relationship with food and your notions about what a healthy body looks like. Good luck to you.

OP your attitude is rather flippant and cavalier like this is a big game to you. The community on this website/app tends to take our health rather seriously; we extend our sincerity about health to our fellow community members. That you have asked for advice about a potentially life threatening situation and then brush off…
