Got some muscle building in your arms and chest now
-
Hey buddy, definitely bulk. I suggest aiming to gain 1lb a week. You don't want to gain too fast and have it all be fat. As noted above, you can get an idea for your starting calories by using an online calculator to find your TDEE. Look for one that uses the Mifflin St. Jeor formula (or use the one in MFP which uses that…

Awesome progress!

I agree, I think you should also focus on building muscle now. I would put less emphasis on cardio for now, especially as you are on your feet a lot. You have some muscle mass on your arms but adding mass to your chest would change your whole look.
-
Look for high-density foods like nuts, avocados, nut butters, rice, potatoes, oats, eggs, etc.

This brings up such an interesting issue. When I mention things like this to people I know, I tend to get the "you are fine the way you are be happy" kind of response, with some even getting offended that I'm anything less than 100% pleased because it makes them feel bad about themselves. I mean, I appreciate those…

I was going to agree with Jseams about upper chest, maybe focus on some Incline pressing? Be proud though, you have a really good base going.
-
Sounds good man. Stay committed and work hard and you will definitely see gains. Take regular pictures for yourself too, it's the best way to see progress over time.
-
If you haven't done a proper, long-term muscle building program with proper diet geared towards gaining, you may still have some some room for that but I wouldn't hold too much stock in it, it really varies per person and situation.

Thanks for keeping us updated

Totally understand this. I'm now cutting after a quite a long bulk and it can be hard to see the scale move the other way after everything that went into gaining.
-
So you're going to fluctuate up and down every day, that's normal. What I do is weigh daily and average it out once a week (each sunday) and compare it to last weeks average.
-
You can do it man. Log your meals, weigh your food, and start lifting!
-
Would be nice, not sure if I'll get there.
-
I think I recognize your picture from an article. If that's you, you can definitely do it again, you know the way 🙏
-
Unfortunately for most of us, the fat tends to pool around the gut, lower back, etc, and blurs most muscle definition
-
Take it week by week. You can adjust as you go man, it won't be all that bad.
-
Excellent advice above. I believe OP understands the mechanics, I think he needs the motivation and support from us!
-
It's next to impossible to know how many calories you burned...accurately anyways. I wouldn't take too much stock in that number.
-
You can do it man. Take advantage of the community for support, there are lots of going through the same thing and feeling similar. You just have to take that first step 🙏
-
If you take it slow, eat clean, and progressive with your lifts, you will gain moderately and I doubt you will look BAD. Nobody would every look at you and say you look BAD. It's US who do that to ourselves man, I know because I do it too. Something will have to give here though. Either you can accept the current state, or…

Hey man, Remember the fact that you've lost weight before! You know what to do, you can do it again, but this time (if you bulk a bit) it'll be easier because you have more experience and you will have built some muscle. In my opinion, we will never be HAPPY to put on fat, particularly if we've lost it before, but if we…

Sounds good!
-
Totally understand your feeling. After working hard to lose weight it's hard to see the scale move the other way, but if you put yourself in a moderate surplus and start a progressive program, you WILL gain muscle too. Beyond that, I don't know what else to suggest.
-
I also lost a lot of weight to get to that picture but as you can see, I wasn't really defined either. Bf% aside, if you don't have the muscle you're not going to have that look. You're already very light, you can't really lose much more weight. Being young, I think you should put your focus on building muscle.
-
Hey man I understand that. Last summer I was 138lbs at 5ft 8 and I really felt too thin also.
-
To give a perspective from someone only seriously lifting for 2 years, I've learned that you have to seriously commit to your specific goal. If you want to bulk up, you have to eat and lift and not be scared to put on some body fat in the process. If you operate based on appearance, I feel you will be shortchanging…

Nice, let us know how you progress!
