Or, “you look too thin!” Usually from someone who is much, much further away than you are from being too thin.

I joined the other senior citizens for Amtrak early boarding and was mistaken for a business class passenger...evidently did not look over 65 to the Amtrak staff! Guess a few years vanished along with the pounds.

Been doing 1200 calories a day for 5 weeks, down four pounds. It took me 20 years to put on 25 pounds so 4 pounds in this amount of time is pretty good!

I know what micronutrients are, but for macronutrients, Never saw it that way...just more as specific kinds of foods as building blocks contributing mainly specific things....eggs and nuts for protein (vegetarian here), fruits and vegetables and some grains for carbos, dairy for calcium and small amounts of “extras” like…

What, exactly, is a macro?

Eat mostly plants...that seems to do the trick!

I can relate to the random exercise bit, because that is the way I operate, too. i would rather be outside than in a gym, so walking and biking only happens when the weather is suitable. You are doing a great job sticking to your caloric allowance. Keep up the good work!

Somehow, those pounds creep on, and it will take a while to get them off, too. Hang in there! You have the best possible motivation...to be there for your family and to lead your toddler to grow up with good eating habits.

Water. You probably don’t get enough of it during the day anyway. I also like crushed ice cubes because they are more like food. Sometimes I remind myself that this is just a primal urge, it is not real hunger. It is like a lot of things, you have to distinguish between needs and wants.

All of this is good info. Not the “weigh once a week or you are obsessive” tradition, which seemed odd, since you do eat every day (I hope). I, too, have found that the daily morning weigh-in helps keep me accountable.

Consider redirecting your thoughts to something else and this craving will go away. It is an urge, an impulse, not a need. Many people have never eaten a whopper and survived just fine. It isn’t something like water, that you have to have.

Love baked potatoes in the jacket! Sweet potatoes, too. No butter or sour cream. Maybe a tablespoon or two of feta or shredded cheddar, but usually just pepper and salt.

If you are weighing more than once a day, that moves into obsession territory. Once a day, on a regular basis, similar circumstances each time, that is scientific measurement. If weighing every day makes you obsess, do not do it. If it helps you focus, it is a great idea.

How about a groundskeeper? Does that count as a maid?

Hope it is working out for you!
