Added you!

Anyone feel free to add me! I have been using MFP since mid-June 2019 and have lost 17# so far. I am a 30 year old married female :)

Bring stuff you know YOU can eat and eat that! If you don't know what's in a dish someone brought, don't chance it... think stuff with cheese, mayo, sugar etc- you never know exactly how much is in it so it's hard to estimate. Easier to stick to stuff you can quantify like a veggie platter, or packaged goods with the…

The Aldi brand of Halo Top style ice cream is called Sundae Shoppe and it's awesome. I kind of prefer it over other brands! My husband loves the mint chip flavor. I really like the vanilla and chocolate but the chocolate chip cookie dough and peanut butter cup are decent too. And like $2.49 each.

Look for ponte pants. They're stretchy like leggings, usually an elastic waist but not always, but thicker than leggings and look like real pants. Good versions from Loft, J.Crew, Macy's etc. Also I have like 6 pairs of Charter Club (Macy's) pants in the "Cambridge" style, some are pull-on and some have zipper closure.…

I keep some healthier snacks in the car, stuff that wouldn't need a cooler. Helps prevent that gas station or drive-through stop. Right now I have beef jerky, individual bags of smart pop popcorn, freeze dried fruit, and sugar free gum. Having individual size bags is really helpful for me too... otherwise I can't stop!!
-
Okay that's the funniest reason so far! I love it.
-
Oh totally. I am so used to overeating, eating too many snacks, just a constant flow of food. So it's partially habit and just generally waiting for my body to adjust to a new healthy habit! And honestly it's much easier to curb snacking when all my options are healthy! Lol.

I do add in my exercise and eat back some of the calories. Usually if I don't eat most of the calories back, it's because my workouts are after work and I don't eat a meal at that time (usually I have a light meal before the gym). So I definitely take it into account, moreso on the weekends.
-
Thank you! I've only been at this for a short while so obviously I'm hungry due to the calorie cut. I started to wonder if I was TOO hungry lol. Great insights.

Gotta love those ads... I personally don't trust reality TV "stars" for my health advice though! Keep an eye out for "ad" or "sponsored"- these people are paid per post and typically are given statements to copy and paste, it's in no way an actual endorsement.

I see Zumba in the exercise database

Awesome job!! I totally relate to portion creep and emotional eating, ugh! I did a 10k about 3 years ago and I was in the best shape I've ever been in as an adult-- I want to get back to that. Amazing how easy it is to let great habits slip. Best of luck on your half!!

You're here, so you're off to a great start! I just added you :)

If vanity spurs better health, IDK- there's worse things you could be!

I totally understand this, I am feeling the same. I feel so down on myself for my weight and appearance and it feels petty, but the emotions I'm feeling are real. I am hoping that some hard work will help turn it around.
-
That's awesome. My dad used to be on dialysis and had a transplant, so I totally know about the struggles of kidney disease and how it can be related to many other things. Good for you for taking your own health into your hands! (I wish my dad would do the same... he could do a lot better!!)
-
Also I would be so annoyed if I was Lisa Rinna, looking great as a cover model, and they cover her up with Keto WooWoo text. Rude!!
-
I love that. That's such a positive way to put it. I get really really down on myself and my appearance and that's a much better way to think of it! Congrats on all your hard work and success.

Wow, these long term members like @alinoveau @neugebauer52 and of course many more are so inspiring!!

Looks like it's on "BeachBody On Demand" so you have to buy into their (MLM) service to use it. Maybe in time there will be stuff on Youtube for free though.
-
Good for you, whatever gets you here. I feel somewhat the same, like my push to get here was due to embarrassment I guess. But moreso my motivation is to never feel like that again!
-
LOL whatever works!! It's crazy how it works sometimes. I'm glad there was a turning point for you! The motivation is the hardest struggle if you ask me.

Good for you! So many people don't see that as a wakeup call. I once overheard a guy on the bus complaining because he says his doctor called him fat and that being fat was causing his conditions! Now this guy was visibly obese, not to be judgmental, it was obvious. He stated he had diabetes, high blood pressure, high…
