Mid-late 30's?

^^^ This.

I'm glad we both found what works for us. Everyone's different for sure! [/quote] Agreed. I am just wary I suppose. I have four sisters (all, like me, had eating disorders...and all but one were runners) :( .

Well when people are properly credentialed/registered/licensed, they can't just open up another practice...I mean compensation for any damage done/financial is one thing...it's another to go to jail. Look at medical malpractice-some doctors do go to jail depending on the case.

I guess I relate to OP because I lost weight in the upper half of my body before my lower. My reasoning for weight loss is purely sports performance, hopefully OP will give some more information. I could be healthy at 20 lbs heavier, but for me, I feel 100 times better at this lower weight. My running distance and speed…

I think you could save yourself a lot of days of "????" if on other days you weren't eating so much below your target. It sounds like your body is tired of such low calories and it's making you very hungry, then you eat more on some days as your body tries to recoup the calories.

^^^ Exactly.

That's my point though. We have minimal information about the OP. From the picture (granted it shows shoulders up) she does not appear to be overweight...It is all fine and well to wish to have a smaller body (granted, this is typically driven by society and the media's standards of beauty-which has changed many many many…

There is a difference between set point and "ate everything I wanted". Set point means that there is a weight where our body runs most efficiently and is most comfortable. A lot of times it isn't the weight we want. I'd LOVE if my set point weight was 120 lb....but it isn't. It's more like 140-145 lb. In order to get lower…

Isn't it also worth noting OP hasn't said anything since the initial post? No background whatsoever so...maybe if she gave us more info, it would help with that end. And yes-having a goal weight that is outside of your set point weight and forcing your body to lose weight to achieve that number...it is actually unhealthy.…

Yeah It depends on the exercise and how many calories were burned. For some exercise you probably should eat at least some of them back. Ex: When I was running long distances, I'd sometimes burn over 2,000 calories. If I wasn't trying to refuel my body after that kind of a workout...I could have (and actually did) have…

Why stop there though? What about practicing medicine? What about practicing law? It's the same as any other profession. Though it's also important to acknowledge the distinction between a "licensed nutritionist" vs a "registered dietitian"...as the training and credentialing and work is very different for both. For…

Yes but I did specifically say "I don't think". I'm entitled to an opinion. People losing weight simply to achieve a number I think are missing out on the idea of living a healthy life. Eating healthy, exercising regularly without it becoming obsessive and allowing yourself to eat whatever you want in moderation...if your…

Does the CBD seem to do anything? One thing I learned is that CBD is not as potent or active without a little bit of THC as well. Then again I live in a state where you can have a Rx for marijuana so the hybrids are available. I've heard of CBD gummies but not gel. I also had thought it'd be topical.

Agreed-but I think that is the point a lot of us on this thread are making. Sometimes to make progress and try to get away from the "YoYo" mentality, a break from calorie counting can be necessary.

I do know I need to focus on cross training more. I also have to work on hip strength. My long run tends to be like a 10-11 min mile. Faster runs more like a 9 min mile (I think I maxed out at 8.5 min mile). I will look into Matt Fitzgerald. I had been doing Hal Higdon running programs before with some modification (if…

Yes. I think what some people are ignoring here is the "yo-yo" part of your struggle. CICO...the equation of calories in vs calories out...yes. Simple. Sticking to something for sustained and permanent loss...and also losing for the right reasons and in a healthy way...the mental aspect of it...this is where applying CICO…

There IS sugar to start in alcohol. Ex: wine is made from grape juice...however, the bacteria and yeast ferment that sugar and the product of the fermentation is alcohol. So no. The sugar in alcohol is surprisingly low unless it's something like a flavored vodka or dessert wine or very high ABV beer.

I used to love trail running but...no access here in the city-it's a drive if I want to do that. However, I'm hoping to do a sprint Tri maybe in the fall or next spring.

BAHAHAHA! Ok ok...you...MIGHT have me with that one...although...I might vomit. And I agree. Hamburgers/cheeseburgers AND hot dogs are sandwiches. *kitten* on bread = sandwich...not literal *kitten*, mind you.

Today was the day. 148.8 lb.

Lately it's fish. Salmon, sole, baramundi, tuna. I have these Ahi tuna steaks...so I think tonight I'm gonna do a stir fry (soba, veggies) and a teriyaki tuna steak.

I could not go full on anarchy though. A pop tart is not a sandwich.
