Yogis Unite!
I'm unable to run right now and other exercise such as ballet and pilates very much "feeds" into my former eating disorder. So I wanted an exercise that was good not just for my body but also my mind and spirit...hence I discovered yoga. Any other yogis out here wanna be friends? Favorite type of Yoga: Vinyasa (my studio…

Cat calls while working out
So I decided to go for a walk this morning while I had my coffee. It's miserably hot here in Baltimore city so I decided to wear my sports bra and shorts. This is saying a lot given that I felt very self-conscious/had body image today after indulgent day with my husband yesterday. So as I'm walking and enjoying being…

I hate water.
There I said it. I force myself to drink it-buy myself new water bottles. But I really can't stand it. There are times I'm super thirsty and chug water, sure...I drink plenty when I run...but it is jut so boring to me. I've played around with infused water but...what do you all do to keep it interesting?

Best Marathon?
So now that I'm allowed to run again-naturally the runner in me starts thinking about the next race and getting myself back into half and full marathon running shape. My plan was to do the DC rock and roll marathon in 2020. This gives me PLENTY of time to slowly work my way back up to distance running. Assuming I'm in…

Introducing kittens to an old (and sometimes aggressive) dog.
So my husband and I are rescuing two kittens (they come home this weekend). One of our dogs is OBSESSED with cats-she loves them. She cries by the back door and waits for our neighborhood cats to come "visit" us. The other dog...well...long story. He is a rescue and was badly treated by his first owner. He lived in a house…

Marathon training...3rd time's a charm.
So I've attempted training for a full marathon twice before-both ended in stress fractures...I've struggled with tibial stress fractures on and off since February 2018. I was finally cleared by my orthopedist after almost 5 months of rest to start running again. I'm going slow, obviously, using walk breaks...and hope to…

Eating Disorder Recovery Support Group
This thread is for those who have had eating disorders and consider themselves to be in recovery. I think about this thread as being for accountability. It can be really hard trying to lose weight when you have this sort of history around food and/or weight loss...so if you find yourself struggling and need someone to talk…

What did you want to be when you were younger and do you still think about it?
I've been thinking about this a lot lately. When I was little I really REALLY wanted to be an astronaut. I had signed pictures and badges from several of the shuttle missions...even one from some of the Apollo missions...I still think about it from time to time...then I remember how much physics and math is involved and go…

Sick with a cold zero motivation.
So I've had a sore throat and congestion (chest and head) since last Friday. I keep setting my alarm to get up so that I can work out before work...but every day I either hit snooze a million times or set my alarm for an hour later before my alarm goes off. I have maybe a half hour before I have to get ready to work...but…

Frequent Stress Fractures...?
First a little background: I have type 1 diabetes (which means later in life you're more prone to getting weak bones) I have a history of an eating disorder...basically recovered now but was on and off for a few years since 2015. I haven't had Celiac disease ruled out yet...dreading that test-if it's positive I'd have to…

What should I eat for dinner...I am feeling lazy.
So I guess I have a salmon filet in the freezer.......I could make some potatoes. Honestly I'm just lazy. I have no idea what to make. What are you all having for dinner?

Long story...back at it.
I used to be on MFP regularly several years ago-to the point of it being obsessive. I started ballet, running...and lost a lot of weight when my chronic dieting turned into an eating disorder. I went into treatment in 2016 for anorexia nervosa and recovered then relapsed multiple times. This time I want to do this for…
