  • I personally do it Bc I have trouble getting enough sleep...so if I stop eating by 8:30, I get to bed earlier (10) and get a full night’s rest. I find when I get more sleep, I can be more active, focused, and I meet my goals better...
  • Thanks to you guys for the rowing advice. I did a very short row the other day to look at my form and I loosened my grip quite a bit—made a huge difference!
  • 55 min run. My knee feels great. I’m a teacher and I started back at school this week with an hour commute. Feeling the exhaustion and only got in 5 workouts this week that were pretty simple. Hoping I can get through the next week with 180 new students and figure out how to get my workouts in too...
  • Nice job! Side question: did they keep the toys out of your room?!?
  • I second the meal prep...I don’t eat anything unless I’ve added it—it’s now become a habit
  • The app won’t let me add people. I love going to the gym—but also tend to work too much and be exhausted—making it hard to go sometimes. I need a push making sure I get there 5 days a week!
  • Down, but the app refuses to let me add people :/
  • Yes, I meant 2 per week...And the goal to aim for per week in healthy loss is no more than 1% body weight...a lot of you joining are going far too aggressive to be healthy.
  • Isn’t 20 in 60 days more than 2 pounds a day? That’s pretty aggressive and could cause you to lose lean muscle, which you don’t want!
  • I just wanna applaud you for wanting to lose healthy and slow down your weight loss to 2 pounds a week or less by adjusting the settings. That seems to be rare on here as many want to see a lot faster results. I personally like keeping my setting to lightly active and adjusting daily if I’m moving around more...It’s still…
  • That’s a personal preference and where you are comfortable. And there’s nothing wrong with your perspective and preference. There’s also nothing wrong with taking it as a compliment. There’s also nothing wrong with being offended or feeling objectified. Everyone can have viewpoints. I think more of the issue is with…
  • Great info. I don’t have access to the Concept 2, but if I keep enjoying the rowing maybe I’ll ask for one for Xmas! I know when I first started I was making the mistake of really pulling with my arms at first and not my legs. I likely set the machine too high and it didn’t feel very fluid. I watched some videos on form…
  • Simple today—1 hour run.
  • Thanks for all the great info and links and sorry for using the wrong terminology. This month, I found via heart rate monitoring (and how sweaty I got) that I got my best workout on a 3-4 setting, so that’s why I’ve been choosing it at my local gym near my home. It’s good to know more of the technical info from you to back…
  • I copy these diary entries from my own notes and I make note for the sake of attempting to be consistent as I need to go to different gyms, it helps me remember how to configure the machines a bit more. I think this machine at this gym was not working correctly or doesn’t allow an extreme drag. Should I reduce anyway?…
  • Thanks so much for this advice...I usually put the damper at my home gym at 3-4 and I always focus on speed and my form (they have a mirror to check my posturing too)...this machine was at a gym near my work and was one of the fan ones—the only reason I set it up that high was bc I was trying to adjust it to the normal…
  • I do log all my weight ins—because I can see trends in how I drop weight and understand fluctuations a bit more.
  • 25 min of lifting for my entire body 10 min of ab/core exercises on the floor 10 min warm up - 1 mile run 60 min ride on exercise bike doing random hills at a high resistance 9 min 4x500 row at highest resistance with 30 second rests in between-hard as possible 8 min 2 reps x 60 seconds of burpees, side lunges, jump…
  • I’d check your BMI again—if you are 5’2” and 133 pounds the max it should be is 24.5. I don’t feel like I’m badgering, it feels like I'm saying something you don’t want to hear—so you’re interpreting it as hostile. I don’t quite understand how someone posting for help on how to consume more calories is taking an appetite…

  • Yeah—this deficit with the 2140 calories per day means losing over a pound a day...Do you live on an exercise bike forever?

  • I don’t know portions here, but: 1 banana- 120-140 calories 4 ounces of chicken and a cup of some sort of veggies for lunch let’s say they are steamed I’ll put at 310 calories Cobb salads are really going to vary based on the ingredients and size—but if it’s got the works—likely 600-700 calories Peppers: 30 calories…
  • As far as the but allergy and lactose intolerance, can you do soy or coconut products? There are a lot using soy or coconut Milk these days.
  • I actually love popcorn with the movies, but I sneak in a mason jar (2 cups) in of unbuttered popcorn in, a sparkling water, and sometimes peanut butter at the bottom of a mason jar with carrots and celery in it. I’ve even brought in edamame before.

  • Um, 4 ounces of chicken is 271 calories. You have 75. There is 200 right there uncounted right there. I don’t know the size of your tenderloin but generally I tenderloin is around 4-5 ounces from my grocery store. If I were to eat 2, that would be 500-600 calories...not 75. I’m also going to guess you’re eating a larger…
  • My school started back up today :/ high school teacher here. I lost 10 pounds over the past few months and now I’m toning and doing maintenance. True test is a new school year not killing habits. But proud I ate well and even though I was exhausted and just wanted a nap-I still hit the gym. That’s a big step from 6 months…
  • Yes, this is why my people buy their daughters pepper spray, spikes, or tazers to protect themselves from very simple daily tasks—like getting in your car. I’ve been instructed to always check the back seat of my car to ensure no one is in it...to not wear headphones alone when out so I’m aware of my surroundings. When I…
  • Truth! She didn’t ask for his opinion about her body—so how about not giving it.
  • Or he/she might not be updated the portions and might just be adding the entry without updating the weight or ounces?
