I should have added above that I find cooking to be a chore. I've been cooking for about 50 years (since I was a kid) and I don't enjoy it. It's not as bad as scrubbing the shower, but I'd rather do just about anything else instead. And, still, I eat at least 20 meals a week made at home. It's great that lots of people…

Probably our lowest calorie dinner is Boca burgers (or fish burgers) on slim buns with avocado served with some kinda veggie. That is about 300 calories.

Mine is open to friends. I'm pescatarian, although that isn't always obvious from the names of my recipes ("beef" stew wouldn't actually contain meat). I've logged all food every day for the 532 days I've been here, except for one week of vacation last year. I'm in maintenance, which for me (not being the calorie burner…

I rarely spend even 30 minutes making dinner. I call myself a "connoisseur" of healthier convenience food. An example would be pre-cooked brown rice cups or pouches (many brands add nothing extra). I also do what was suggested above - keep it simple. I see no reason to have a bunch of variety in one meal as long as we have…

Some people have leakier valves in their lymph system, which can cause water retention in the lower legs. This is often genetic, so perhaps your relatives have the same issue. Absolutely bring it up at your next routine visit with your doctor, as AnnPT77 suggested. Your doctor could have some simple ideas to help (for…

As a kid: Best: The Christmas Eve feast of the seven fishes at my grandparent's house. Fried smelts! Worst: La Florentine Torrone because the boxes were so cute but the candy was gross. As an adult: Best: Bahlsen chocolate covered gingerbread hearts and stars that Santa always leaves in my stocking. Worst: The gift baskets…

Just wanted to add that I also make the following substitutions sometimes: For the greens: Beets Rhubarb For the Cherries: Blueberries Berry blend These are all really good, especially the rhubarb which I have only found frozen in the US at Sprouts.

The majority of my MFP friends have vanished. I'm really hoping they're all planning to start fresh in January!

My most common smoothies are the following. Banana PB Chocolate Banana Powdered PB Cocoa Cinnamon Protein powder (unsweetened) Riced Cauliflower Avocado Cashew milk Greek yogurt Cherry Greens Chocolate Banana Cherries Cocoa Cinnamon Nutmeg Greens Protein powder (unsweetened) Avocado Cashew milk Greek yogurt Turmeric Ginger…

I have a Tanita HD-351. It's not cheap (~$70 US). I wanted something that was accurate, repeatable, but didn't use fake repeat. Another MFP user recommended this scale and I've been happy with it for over a year. Occasionally it gets moved so that one of the feet is on a grout line and my weight "plummets", but that's…

I know nothing about carb levels in food, but some other things (not mentioned above I believe) that I eat are: Hummus and pear (so good) Chocolate hummus and any fruit (I like the Trader Joe's chocolate hummus because it's less sweet than the others) Clio yogurt and chocolate bars ($1 at our Walmart and taste a little…

I'm making the same as usual, but for 2 instead of 4. A bunch of veggies in my crockpot with herbes de provence. And then for the last 1/2-1 hour, I put a Field Roast Celebration Roast on top. This year I'm making gingerbread cake for dessert.

Food or person scale?

Simple absolutely works. Coming off WW, you may find it odd at first to count calories for fruits and veggies and other zero point foods (my friend did). Get a food scale, weigh in grams, be careful when selecting database entries, pick a reasonable weight loss goal, eat back (accurate) exercise calories. That's worked for…

My plan will be the same as what I've done in the past both when losing and in my 10 months of maintenance. I track slightly looser on special occasions (like not weighing my serving of food, but estimating it as 1/6th of the entered recipe). Vacation is the only time I don't track at all, and, obviously, I will be at home…

I have spot checked occasionally but have never found any foods I buy to be so off that I felt the need to weigh them regularly. And I use a good number of packaged foods. I do have OCD tendencies, so I deliberately try to not get too picky about weighing food. I would probably get a B+ if someone graded us on our food…

My birthday is coming up soon, too. I share the day with my spouse's birthday and our anniversary! It's our Mega-Day! We have a local fish restaurant that we always have lunch at on that day (20+ year tradition). They have curbside pickup so we will do that this year. We will probably "picnic" in our car since it's too far…

I think my grandmother's gingerbread cake recipe has been lost, but I really want some.

Hey, thanks. As I said, I didn't know what it did. I appreciate the clarification.

For those with a Kroger family store, I believe these are part of the current buy 5 save 5 deal! Snack cakes are my kryptonite. I can easily eat an entire box in one sitting.

My BMI is currently 21.2. My shape is very similar to yours. I have less muscle and more obvious loose skin, but that's mainly an age thing (and laziness about strength training). I have definitely noticed improvement as maintenance goes on in how my skin looks, so you can likely look forward to that. I eat a wide range of…

I'm a pescatarian, but mostly eat vegetarian. I don't know your definition of "clean eating" so I may or may not meet it. I'm happy to have new friends who eat enough calories and have diaries open to friends. I also run a very laid-back group here on MFP called New Recipe Challenge. We are a small group who share meal…

I don't eat after 7 PM, but that's because it's part of my GERD "prescription". I just accept it as the way life has to be. Hunger or desire for food doesn't matter. Mostly my body/brain has gotten used to it. Honestly, I miss coffee and soda much more than I miss evening snacking.

When I click on a name, I get a button that says "ignore" next to the button that says "send message". What does that do? I've never used it. If your issue is random folks, you may want to consider a name and profile pic that's more ambiguous.

Here's some ideas: https://www.seriouseats.com/2017/12/16-cookie-recipes-for-holiday-care-packages.html https://www.tasteofhome.com/collection/treats-to-mail/ Hope they help.

Guess I'm the odd one out here. I started maintenance in March. I have lowered my bottom range a couple times because I just keep slowly losing. I'm 5'3" and currently weigh a little under 120 lbs, so I'm in no danger of being underweight. I was initially stressing so much about continued weight loss, even though it was…

For a restaurant food that I don't finish, I'll estimate and change the serving to the appropriate decimal (.9, .75, .5, etc). I almost never leave any of my homemade meals because I plan servings around my appetite and dish them up accordingly.

I'm 5'3", 55 years old and 120 lbs. I selected "not very active" (android app) ---aka "sedentary" (ios app and website, I believe) --- in MFP. I did so because my steps can vary from 3000 - 15,000 depending on my days activity. For me, if my day is 8000-9000 steps, the final adjustment for the end of the day varies from…

Here's a recipe to make it yourself: https://dontwastethecrumbs.com/chocolate-hummus/#tasty-recipes-82868 I would probably go a lot lower on the sweetener, myself. It's great with pretzels or fruit. I used to make a lot of nut butters and sometimes I would add cocoa, but not any sweetener. I would occasionally add mint…
