Water retention comes from eating carbs, not salt. Sugar needs water to turn into glycogen as an energy source. If you want your dress to fit by your wedding cut carbs off for a few days.

Most fruit is too high in sugar to be a healthy option. Berries are a good alternative.

Try eating a really big bowl (12 cups+) of salad.

My wife makes bone broth every week. I do believe there are health benefits but yes they are likely overblown. Buying pre-made bone broth at stores or restaurants is likely really expensive. My wife will buy cheap bones from the market and use the instant pot to make it into broth. I'll drink a cup of bone broth every…

Seems really low. Shouldn't you be at about 65 bpm? Are you a top tier marathon runner? What did your doctor say?

Is it loose skin and a little bit of left over belly fat? I have that too. The skin will tighten over time, a lot of time. The older you are the longer it can take. Just curious if going low carb made a positive impact to your diabetes? Are you still taking prescription drugs? Lowered dosage?

I looked at your diary and don't see any green vegetables. Lot's of protein shakes, potatoes and toast though. Your body needs micro-nutrients. Foods like lettuce, broccoli and green beans are extremely dense in minerals and vitamins for the little calories they have. I'm about the same stats as you. 170 lbs, 6' male. I…

I'm waking up earlier as I age. Usually 5-5:30am. this morning 3:45. I think I just don't like sleeping for long periods and I also like the quiet morning time before the sun comes up. I'll take a nap during the weekend to catch up on sleep and I'm fine. I go to bed at 9pm and asleep by 10pm.

I do OMAD. I kind of fell into it when I started doing keto. Here's what I've learned; - The longer I go without eating the less hungry I feel. I only want food after I eat. - Autophagy is real. Read about it. - Read about how it affects insulin and how insulin affects your health and fat burning. - I eat all my calories…

I'm 6'0" at 167 lbs and eat about 1 kg of bacon a week. Started keto in June 2019 and lost 65 lbs in 6 months. Who knew bacon was health food.

I lost 65 lbs in 6 months doing keto and intermittent fasting. Good luck.

Friday is a major cheat day with a large pizza for dinner. Saturday is minor cheat day with a croissant or nachos. Sunday is nutrition day where I consume high cals of quality, nutritious and delicious food.

Bloat is due to carbs not salt. Your body needs and holds more water when you eat lots of carbs.

One week isn't enough time to really tell by the scale. Give it some more time and you will start to notice progress. Trust me, the diet is having an effect. With your intake and expenditure numbers you will start to see the fat melt off quickly. I did similar cals on a low carb diet and lost 65lbs in 6 months without much…

half a pack of bacon.

Changed my diet completely about a year ago to high fat low carb. I eat around 50g or less grams of carbs a day and 2000-2500 cals a day. I was doing about 1200 cals and lost 65 lbs in the first 6 months. I've been maintaining weight although still losing fat, gaining muscle over the last 8 months.
-
Nutrition is 80% impact to your weight. Also consider this, a large McDonald french fry is around 500 calories. It would take 45 mins to 1 hour killing yourself on a treadmill to burn 500 cals. It's too easy to consume and too hard to burn. I also believe that exercise is for gaining weight (muscle) not losing. But this is…

20g net carbs is very low even for keto. I keep it below 40g. You need to focus on eating high fat foods, getting enough fat is the challenge. Here is what i eat to give you an idea; - steak - Bacon. Rougly 2-3 packs a week (375g each pack). I chop it up and put it into a ceasar salad. I also save the grease to use later -…

Eat your calories rather than drink them. I use almond milk in coffee. It's lower cal than milk or cream.

I’m like you, never really settled into normal eat 3 meals a day regimen. I started doing keto and OMAD 8 months ago and it’s been a breeze. I hardly ever feel hungry. Lost 65 lbs (235 lb to 170) in the first 6 months and have been maintaining since.

The brain prefers to run off ketones, not sugar.
-
Thanks for the input. Never occured to me that potassium in the database is wrong. With regard to bacon, I’ll easily eat 200 grams of bacon 3 times a week.
-
Thanks for that Ann. I’ve heard something like that aswell. I too love brazil nuts, not just bc they taste great but also bc thry’re cheap, compared to macadamia and pecans anyways.

Everyone needs cheat days. I’ll have 1 a week and make it glorious (ie no chain pizza places, only gourmet). I look forward to my cheat day all week and feel no guilt over it.
-
I cheat every friday, usually pizza. Without cheat days I’d likey give up my new healthy eating lifestyle.
-
You're eating too often. 3 meals a day + at least 2 rounds of snacks, no wonder you're struggling.

If you switch to a keto diet chicken wings becomes health food, as long as they aren't breaded, which if they are real buffalo style wings they shouldn't be.
