Six to four hours in massive. Without sounding arrogant my tadpole is the nuts but not the very fastest in the range (it's an ICE Sprint for touring). I get what you are saying but my balance is awful (epilepsy)- I can just about ride a two wheeler but not a road bike. I'm getting a new hybrid gravel bike to keep up with…

Machka9 I ride 3-4 times a week depending on the weather. I think you misunderstand the 20 min push is on top of what I do :)

Hiya. Thanks. I rode 100K at a sportive (with my tadpole pulling a trailer with a dog in it! Never again lol) but have yet to reach the magic imperial. I think lot of it for me is my bike is just so ruddy heavy! What would you call a century pace for me on the tadpole? My last 100K was 10mph and my limit is about 13mph at…

That's great ty very much. A masochistic century on a hybrid? Gawd. At least I get to lie back ;) I've only ridden a road bike once and it felt like an unruly colt!! I've heard of Audax.... I've always been a bit shy of them as I thought they were 100 plus endurance riders but I'll have a look now thanks :)

I ride climbs already with a fully loaded bike, panniers and a trailer. I have ridden to the point of nausea (not fun) but bizarrely my HR didn’t reach as high as on the stationary bike. I don’t think I have the full picture, I ride at a really high resistance (like climbing), am already warmed up and by control I mean…

Ah yes very similar to your 'only' rowing: 15-20 mins near max output. That's it, maybe my 'max' is higher than I initially thought - genes and stuff as you mentioned. That or I feel no pain because I'm numb ;)

Ty. It's one thing I do amongst others :) I do aqua aerobics, mid distance road riding (about 60K) and zen days out on the trails with my bike and pooch. Oh yeah and walking, lots of walking (I don't own a car). It was just something that interested me and I was initially curious if anyone else used a max HR sprint as a…

Has been interesting - ty. I don't think I'll go to Loughborough mind, I couldn't handle the beasting !

You could be right there. My bike last summer was a recumbent tadpole trike and it’s a beast to get uphill. My heart would pound and I couldn’t breathe. I can do a metric century on it but an imperial century is just way beyond me lol. I’m gonna try it on a two wheeler cos it’s easier 😉, apart from the bum pain and falling…

Interesting differences. Are you road riders? I spend a lot of time off road and find the breath control thing at Max helps me when the ground is soft and I have to grit my teeth. I still find road hills difficult whereas my roadie mates go up them with ease. I’m guessing as you said it’s the hare and tortoise technique I…

Some kind of bechamel with cheese/veg/fish with filo pastry topping? with greens?

Same for me. My eating pattern is the complete opposite to what is considered by many as set meal times. It took me a long time to adjust to what my body wants, when it needs food and how much food. Mostly (but not rigidly) I eat a small meal late morning, a massive meal early to mid afternoon and only if I’m properly…

Hunger isn't pain and it doesn't hurt so no need for a quick fix. Takeaways are a waste of money, get off your backside and cook woman. NEAT, clean the house and walk the dog. Eat beans, lots of beans. (me talking to myself)

Every day. Like everyone my weight fluctuates daily, going slightly up and down. I do it because "ooh I lost 100 grams yesterday" makes me feel good and a little boost to keep going and exercise a wee couple of minutes longer. I only used to weigh once a week and found I would feast and famine. This way I keep better…

I save loads by eating pulses instead of animal proteins. Lentils make awesome curries/ lasagnes / burgers etc and are mega cheap :) I'm not veggie btw, just rarely eat meat

I do it because it's how I like to eat. I never eat after about 4 pm and have breakfast the next day about 10am so a fast of about 18 hours in 24. I just prefer eating this way - much like a lot of Europe my main meal can be anything from 1-4pm . If I eat a meal in the evening it sits really heavy in my belly. If I get a…

Semi dried prunes on top of porridge is a lush fibre and carb food. My pre-ride go to.

I use a glycerin suppository twice a week - the side effects of meds cause constipation. It's gentle and works within minutes.

If it helps at all I listen to an audiobook on my headphones as I find I concentrate more than music, ergo less concentration on other people. Good luck x

Iuse ProteinWorks meal replacement powder for my first meal. I find it helps me get the nutrients I lack and I can neck it plus feel full.

Seeded wholemeal bread is yummy and good for you. I get mine from the baker if I can. It's the processed white stuff I avoid. Nothing like a peanut butter sarnie on seeded bread when I'm out on the bike :)

Eating once, maybe twice a day - second meal a nutrient meal replacement shake.. Full meal with a fruit crumble everyday. I feel sated and not deprived, it's my natural way of eating. 'It's only hunger it doesn't hurt' - wait for a couple of hours, walk the dog and prepare food - instead of diving for anything dueto…
