I’m in the same boat!! It’s taken me 6 weeks to lose 4 lbs!! But the thing I noticed about reading people’s comments and supporting others is that I am sticking to the plan. I usually stop recording after about 3 weeks! I hope you can get the support you need!!

I’m weighing once a week. I have been calorie counting since I was 15 years old. I do admit there may be some miscalculation so sometimes I will add miscellaneous calories to be sure I’m being accurate. I’m just frustrated.

It’s quite possible that I misunderstood the weight Watchers plan at the time. I certainly believe in using common sense. The level of exercise and training described here obviously is going to require calories!
-
After reading all the responses my thinking is that I may not be accurately reporting my calories in or exercise calories out. I’m encouraged by what you all shared.

I’m walking again! I confess it was nice to take a few days off! Im impressed how you kept going post surgery and injury!

I’m currently doing MFP calorie counting. I’m trying to eat 1500 calories per and not eat extra for exercise. Even doing that I have lost very slowly. I dropped 4.1 pounds in 5 weeks. I honestly don’t think I would have lost any weight if I ate extra calories.. too scared to try. I don’t want to gain weight!

I’m not that far on my journey (week 6). Everything you said happened to me. I gained 2 ounces one week. I lost nothing another week. But I decided to stick with it. What’s the alternative? Go back to overeating? Anyhow, I’m officially down 4.1 lbs. that won’t win me any prizes, but it’s the first time in a very long time…

I think that you are right. I am over thinking this. It’s my nature. I had a great run at the beach today and felt so much better.

That’s good to hear.
-
That’s probably wise. Thank you.

I work at an elementary school and part of my job is lunch duty. Kids throw so much of what you pack for them away!! But one thing I do notice is that the kids from different cultures who meals look more like what they eat at home with their families tend to eat their lunches. For example: chicken dumplings. Sushi. Etc. I…

It’s been a frustrating change because I keep comparing to past successes. I know my metabolism has slowed. My problem is that the thought of cutting more calories is probably not sustainable. But I’m concerned that if I continue to see little or no results I might quit. So my third idea is to look closer at what I am…

Lots of great ideas. Thank you.

Still getting used to the discussions. I hope this gets to the right person. Sounds like you got lots of good advice. I suggest you go to eat he gym the two times you are comfortable and in the other days go for a walk or run after work. But an exercise ball and some free weights and finish with some strengthening…

Thank you all for the encouragement. Today feels different!!

I’m going to check that podcast out!
-
Inspiring!! I like the idea of making it a part time job.
-
Good advice!

It really does help to hear about others learning to say no.
-
WOW. I’m so impressed with you!! I love to hear it’s possible to maintain a weight loss!! After so many years of losing and gaining, my confidence is low.
-
Yes!!!!!!

I’m guessing that they will be delicious. I think what helped me say no yesterday was that im tired of feeling bad about myself. Food makes me feel good for a moment. Anger at myself for blowing it calorie wise lasts a lot longer!!!
-
I’m working on doing that! Good job. You must be very successful at losing weight.
-
You are absolutely right!

I’m working on not giving the scale any power over me. This one will take some time.

I have the most responses to my latest post about food addictions. Obviously this is a struggle for most of us. Currently my goal is to find other things that fill the void that I have used food to fill. People... exercise...reading...all help; but I literally wake up each day thinking about what I’ll eat that day. I think…

So good to read all the responses. I’m not sure what to do yet. I’m completing week 3 of MFP and am missing desserts. My weight loss has been so slow (2 lb), I feel like one dessert and the weight will come right back!
-
I know you are right! I’m debating between once a week or daily weigh ins.

I’m listening to everything everybody has been writing, but the truth of the matter is that the scale still carries a great deal of power over how I feel. Down a pound, I’m overjoyed. Up an ounce or two, I’ve failed. But one thing I’m sure of, quitting and giving into using food as a comfort will definitely lead to weight…

Thank you for the good advice. Water drinking is difficult and always has been because I don’t get thirsty. I do carry water at all times and force myself to drink it. I also agree that sticking to 1500 calories is more realistic. I need the energy to do all I do each day. I exercise 30 minutes to an hour each day. I do…
