Thank you for the insights. I’m definitely not giving up.

That sounds like a great start!

I completely understand and have been there. In fact I bet most of have successfully lost weight on a particular plan and later gained it back!!! I have. You are much more than your weight. Remember that and also remember that you have had success and have the ability to do this again. The good news is that you haven’t…

I agree. Even being off by a hundred calories a day makes a difference in weight gain

Good advice!

I made it through day 3 and I weighed myself. I’ve lost .8 of a pound. That’s encouraging. I’m pretty sure that the days of losing 5 lbs in the first week are over so I’ll take almost a pound.

I want to try 1500 calories and exercise to see if I can even lose weight. I have, what I think is a realistic goal: lose 15 lbs. that’s what I have put on the last 4 years. I got through day 3!!! I’m going to weigh myself tomorrow again.

1250 calories a day is not sustainable. You end up being hungry all the time. I’d start with 1500.

Me too! I’m on day three. For me this is the day I usually give up. At least it used to be. My goal is basically stay under 1500 calories a day and exercise 30 minutes or more each day. I’ve learned that extreme diets don’t work. I hope you hang in there. Just take it one day at a time.

My big concern is that logging what I eat does not necessarily equate to weight loss. I haven’t quite found the right way to eat that doesn’t cause me to eat too much, but will keep me satisfied. I have not been successful at 1. Gluten free diet or 2. Sugar free. They have literally both pushed me into a low grade…

Wow... I wasn’t expecting so many responses. Well, I’m inspired. Well I’m starting today! I just went for a 30 minute run and I am going to log all my food. I will watch portions. Here goes! Thank you.
