I love your photo. It is so inspiring to see someone put their whole body in one leg of a pair of pants they use to wear. It really shows how far you’ve come!

I like the message that both Heather from Half Size Me and Donald and Catherine from We Only LOOK Thin emphasize. Sustainability. I enjoy some episodes more than others. With HSM I prefer the interviews to the Coaching calls. I like Optimal Health Daily which is broader than weight loss and exercise. The title of each…

Yes! For me it seems to be weather related. I’ve been hungry on the cold(er) days and in the summer I do t have much of an appetite. When I am in a “really hungry” stretch, it helps to have my meals focus on huge piles of cooked veggies or homemade broth based soups. The bulk of the fiber and volume makes a difference.

Same as @cwolfman13. I worked 11-7 or 12-8 in my 20s and I treated it the same as I would working day shift. I ate my first mean around 3 am - food I brought from home. If I was hungry, I ate a snack before that and maybe shifted my first meal to 4. I would eat something else from home before exercising. My last meal was…

Definitely a workout, especially if you skate outside..I’ve never worn a fitness tracker to know how many calories I burned. When you’re going into the wind or at a incline you notice! I have skates not blades. They require a different push off than blades, more of a sideways motion. I also incorporate some “tricks” which…

My husband gave up sugary foods for about a year after watching a documentary about what it does to your organs and health over time. He also gave up fruit juices and of course sodas. He did start eating more fruit than before. He always ate a good deal of fruit, but he went from 3-4 portions a day to probably 8. He also…

Remembering that I do better with a few set breakfasts and lunches to rotate through. It helps me to make sure I eat at regular intervals. And somehow I’m getting greater enjoyment out of them. I’m also carrying a serving of almonds with me on the go for the times I need to eat between meals. I find them to be a satisfying…

Get to onederland! 6 lbs to go!

I’m usually home, so I do a protein (usually a salmon burger) with a giant salad, veggie stir fry or roasted veggies. Sometimes leftovers from the night before and add to it raw veggies or fruit. If I am meeting a friend for a picnic lunch (thank you Covid), then it is a sandwich, raw veggies and fruit. Occasionally I’ll…

Do your best to bring food from home with you. It will help you mentally and physically. Things like nuts (preportioned), some fruits, protein bars (I don’t care for them), beef jerky (high in sodium) can be left in your car for the times you didn’t pack and are starving. I’d rather have a snack that will bridge the gap…

My first time joining. I want to stay focused. I’m 5’5”, 55 yr old female. Heaviest weight: 259.2 lbs Jan start weight: 206.6 lbs Jan goal weight: 199.9 lbs Ultimate Goal Weight: 145 lbs I weigh myself daily, but will probably only post weight updates once or twice a week. (But I’ll read our thread every day. 😀)

I love this thread! My fitness tracker doesn’t hook into mfp (or any app), so I don’t have a step count for the year. But I am walking with friends outside, no matter the weather, and have worked up to 5-6 miles per day at least 5x a week and 3 miles on the other 2 days. I got the message this morning that I have logged in…

Welcome. You can do it. Thank you for all you and your colleagues are doing. It is high stress and long hours.

Your commitment and transformation are inspiring. What a difference you must feel. Way to go!

Is that photo your Walmart? If mine looked like that I might get lunch there too! The Walmart near me has fried chicken and other junky foods, very little if any prepared foods. It is hard to imagine getting healthy, ready to eat foods there which is why I haven’t got suggestions. Good luck finding more choices for your…

Wow! Everything must be more flavorable picked fresh. I’m envious.

Get familiar with when the weekly ads for the grocery stores in your area come out. Every week they have loss leaders that really stretch your budget. Then plan the meals around those items. Impulse purchases kill a budget as do "what am I in the mood for?". There are lots of resources online. I entered "budget meal…

Chickpeas. They have become a go to that I rarely ate prior to my husband wanting to eat plant based about 6 months ago. (He gave up after 2-3 weeks, but some of the dishes have become my go-tos.) Shredded cabbage added to stir frys. Add volume and texture for not too many calories. The frozen Salmon burgers from Costco…

Thank you for sharing your experience so openly. Your perspective is an empowering message for those of us that have gone up and down the scale over the years. I have to remember this is a journey. To stay committed and be at peace, I need to even out the highs and lows as much as possible.

When you get a chance, look at https://www.themediterraneandish.com/ I was looking for a Chicken Cacciatore recipe when I found the site. I saw an easy cod recipe there (one from your preferred fish list 😉). Lots of vegetarian recipes and all the ones I've looked at are easy and use common ingredients. After watching Forks…

Many of us have been there. I knew what to do, but I kept waiting for motivation to hit again. It took years. Yes, years, My suggestion is to start with one thing, maybe 2. Don’t try to change everything at once. Maybe start with drinking a glass of water first thing in the morning, then before each meal. And eliminate…

Thank you. I really enjoyed reading through this thread. Lots of personal insights. I am someone who doesn’t participate in social media and appreciates anonymity, which is getting harder and harder to achieve. I have nothing to hide (most days 😋😝🤣). I just don’t need or want to be judged by, acknowledged, recognized by…

Great work! You look like a different person. And yes, younger. 😋 Look what we can do once we get started!

The chart that novusdies posted is extremely helpful. (Thank you!) High fiber, high volume and getting enough protein help me to feel full and satisfied. For hunger - A hot beverage now that it is getting colder, or cold depending upon where you live. Having a cup of tea or even a cup of chicken broth (high in sodium) can…

It’s sad but I’ve even had inconsistent food quality from non-chain restaurants. Now that I’m counting calories, and in the losing weight phase, going out just isn’t as appealing. The one good thing about the pandemic is I got in the habit of cooking every day and it has really stuck. (We use to dine out 2-3x per week).…

Do they have Chico’s in the UK? I go to their outlet store for 3/4 sleeve cotton tees in lots of colors. They don’t pill and hold their shape. And because it is the outlet, they aren’t pricey. I also think LLBean carries them. Sorry, I’m not familiar with UK based stores. That is all I wear on the winter. I Get way too hot…
