  • We use a NuWave Oven. We use it ALL the time. its Air Fry, Conduction, Convection, Infrared and indoor grilling. The grease drains off (I also pat the extra grease) I HIGHLY recommend it. You can safely cook fish from a frozen state if needed. unlike a microwave it doesn't dry out your food. Aside from outdoor grilling it…
  • kinda close to my goal. Started at 227# Nov 6th now 214 - 215# range using this MFP
  • Not female but willing to add encouragement. I started Nov 6th with MFP. Still learning but improving and religiously entering food intake on mobile and xputer. Just turned 64 and 6' was always lean and 'hungry' never worried about diet. But riding the couch and bouncing Gkids doesn't get me much exercise. Started at 227#…
  • All great advice and tips. Agreed I dont trust many items in the database marked 'home made' either. I TRY to accurize my entries by comparing the nutrients with Nutritionix and USDA foods databases. As you can see, I buy raw kale and blend from 1 - 2 ounces in my protein shakes every morning. And every time I double check…
  • mmapags.. I dont measure sodium either. Or set parameters for it other than not adding it. But it shows up and has me curious.. I'm targeting carbs and fat grams the most. My OCD wants to keep most all the tallies in the green and the sodium is always burying the needle. ;-)

  • @PAVeighteighteighteight.. as always, great advice. Fish for dinner tonight. And yes my macro targets are 2K cals (usually dont exceed). 150 carbs (hit and miss) 33 Fat g's which is low and I realize I'll always exceed but it forces me to think Protein (which is the balance to make the 100% prg parameter) Sodium and sugar…
  • Surprise, Surprise!! the higher reading on my 2 home scales average today was a consistent 216lbs!!!. I dont think I lost 2 lbs overnight but as stated, my scales are old and plus or minus 3lbs. but if the next 2 days I get repeat (or less) readings then I'm on course. I dont know how to add friends on here but you are…
  • @PAV8888, Thanks very much for the analysis. It's comprehensive and educational. I am 6' tall. Our scales are old, battery operated and finicky. I weigh on both same time daily and settle on the average of 3 stands and resets on each (I dont trust their first read out) Even if there's plus or minus 2 pounds error I should…

  • Now that I'm MFP'ing and trying to get back to a leaner me. (Belly Be Gone) I'm measuring everything. heh. Would like to get back into my 34" Wranglers from my 36". When I measured my waist for this program I researched the difference. For instance I wear a 36" pant but my belt would be a 42 maybe.. clothes size can be…
  • With vanity sizing, the inseam size on pants are fairly accurate, but when it comes to the waist, all bets are off. Designers skillfully size their pants to boost your ego, causing a rise in your attitude toward their brand and enticing you to buy more. This ends up leaving a skewed perception about not only the size of…
