  • I got the results of my latest blood tests today and I'm no longer classed as pre-diabetic and my cholesterol is now back to a normal healthy level. So pleased about this, and definitely motivated to keep going with the diet and exercise
  • Not a mini goal as such, but just finding out that our 2nd grandchild is on the way has certainly increased my motivation and desire to get, and stay, fitter and healthier. I get the feeling I'll be getting much more exercise with 2 grandchildren to chase around the garden !
  • I'm really pleased my earlier post has inspired you, and your response has also helped me as it's nice to know that someone else is trying the same sort of things. I'm always convinced that I'll want more, especially biscuits, but I use the time walking back to the biscuit tin to talk myself out of it (it work most of the…
  • Having hit one of my first major targets, getting my waist below 40, I though I'd share my approach to losing weight and getting fitter. For me it's all about not giving up, not giving up on the diet and exercise and not giving up all of the things I enjoy most or am slightly addicted to. So I decided to make a lot of…
  • The World Health Organisation recommends that you achieve 150 heart points per week to keep fit and healthy. I just beaten that number for the first time this year managing 164 points so far, and there's still 5 hours left to go today!
  • This is probably not everyone's idea of what motivation should be, but for me it's all about being realistic and working out what works for you. I've accepted the fact that Friday night takeaway is a treat that I could never give up entirely, as we've done it for so long now and see it as the start of our weekend. I decide…
  • I can now wrap a bath sheet around my waist without having to suck my stomach in first and I can see my toes again. Hopefully I'll be able to see my feet soon and not just my toes!
  • My Granddaughter is just 18 months old and she has no idea she is my personal trainer, inspiration and motivation all rolled in to one perfect little package. 4 inches off my waist so far, blood pressure down, dizzy spells gone! It's amazing how 1 small person can have such a positive impact on one large (but getting…
  • A positive negative from the last week, I set myself a target of doing 100,000 steps last week, and fell a little short achieving 95,699 = Negative However this is still 18,550 more than my weekly average so far this year = Positive
  • Just passed 700km's on the exercise bike, next target 1000Km's by the end of the month Also waist below 40 for the first time in many years, so still heading in the right direction
  • When we stopped using shop bought sauces and ready meals about 6 months ago, and started making our own, we really though we'd have to compromise of taste. After some trail and error, and a few failures, we now make everything ourselves, replacing most of the salt and sugar with herbs and spices. The best thing about this…
  • Been back on MFP since January, so far my blood pressure is down from avg. 170/88 to 140/78, so heading if the right direction. My wedding ring fits properly for the first time in years, and I've just passed the 500KM mark on my new exercise bike So Far So Good
