So all my friends now I lack of sleep and this is one of the main issue I have
Since two days i try to make poems to and about GARLIC ,and for two days it was working so fine I thought I was Einstein, discovering a big thing for Humanity! lol
And then my almost enemy SLEEP said he will not be impressed by a piece of garlic - lol
So again I slept ,but just one break this time. For example 2230-1:00 and then 2:40-05:30 today
Those who said that Cleopatra from Egypt was sleeping with garlic under the pillow in order to have a good sleep I don't know if they had fantasies,
but eating garlic before bed (2 pieces only) and arrive to just one break, that is my NSV for this week!
P.S the smell and taste is making mild by me by putting in the morning the piece of garlic in the water, like this it loses till evening the smell and strong taste
This is for the bad guys having any objections to my friend ,the GARLIC!5 -
This is a strange NSV, but bare with me. I have now lost the same amount as my toddler currently weighs. For someone who struggles to see a difference in the mirror, it’s a really crazy visual reference. Like, whoaaaaa... I’ve lost that much?
Also hit my 200th day of logging today which is nothing compared to some of you, but pretty cool for me.26 -
my NSV:
the belts are too big on me, even at the lowest/last hole setting.
I might have to create new holes if I don't want to spend money on new belts. Made me feel very proud of myself. I went from hole 1 down to the 5th+ hole.
I can't believe how much my body is changing!
It's aggravating but not at the same time (sorry if I don't make sense). Love that I'm losing weight and losing inches off my body, but it's also annoying that my closet is not prepared for the weight loss and I'm starting to NOT have enough clothes to wear, that is appropriate to be seen in public (lots of baggy shorts, pants, and shirts). I'm also in that weird middle stage of losing weight, where I don't exactly need an entirely new wardrobe, but the current clothes I have aren't looking soo cute anymore on me. LOL...
In any case... WHOO HOOOO to me ... I love what I'm experiencing on this health journey. I don't "see" the difference on my body physically, since I see myself every day, but I can feel the difference in my energy level and when I wear certain clothes/accessories, the differences are then clearly seen/felt.14 -

amazing job! your hard work is paying off. I would suggest facebook marketplace or ebay for some "new to you" clothes that aren't too expensive until you get to your goal weight. I have good luck on ebay buying brands that I am familiar with for very little $. a whole new wardrobe seems in the near future! kudos!!6 -
@Sand_TIger this NSV is what it's all about. How to live healthy and strong even when the world around us seems to be conspiring against that idea! Well done! I'm in a similar spot and under huge stress but following your lead

I have 2 NSV this week. I noticed I can see my collar bones and I also felt the pads of fat on my hips had shrunk a lot and saw that my thighs look a lot slimmer. When I weighed myself this morning the scales lied and said that I had put on a pound so, I measured my body and found to my delight that I have lost 2 inches off my hips since I last measured myself on January 1st. To celebrate I went for a walk in my local park and enjoyed the sun on my face! I haven't done any unhealthy comfort eating to console myself that I haven't reached my mini goal of 12st 13lbs this week, whoop whoop, WTG!!14

Sand_Tiger, you are handling things brilliantly as usual, not only is it a NSV but it is also No Small Victory. Keep doing what you are doing and inspiring others my friend. I'm proud of your determination and guts not to quit!8

It's been raining here the last couple of days. Even though it was raining, I still took my walks. Normally that would be my excuse not to go.13

Thank you so much LynneBurgess714 and Solieco1! And that's a great NSV, Lynne!
Today I actually socialized with friends and worked out again. That was so nice to be able to do. I think I'm getting a little stronger - and I noticed new veins standing out on my calves.11 -
Today I threw away all my cigarette lighters, (78 days smoke free), without giving it a second thought.
I had somehow amassed about 20 which when I've tried to give up before I'd always made an excuse about how it's wasteful to chuck them away/they're useful for other things (bbqs etc). I know seems a minor thing but quite a mindset change for me forming part of a healthier lifestyle.41 -
So yesterday I was fasting (religious reasons, not weight loss related), and I ended up with 820 calories left. The whole time I was looking forward to going wild today, letting myself eat whatever I wanted as long as I logged it. To my great surprise, I didn't WANT more than my normal amounts of anything!! I even left half of my meal on the plate at my favorite Mexican restaurant and still felt overfull. Believe me, I never in a million years expected that to happen, and it really encourages me to think that maybe I'll be able to continue this way of eating/living for the rest of my life. That's always been my goal, but today I really BELIEVE it will happen. YAY!!!21

That's so important. 13th April 2006 is when I stopped 'exercising as a penance for smoking', & trained for a 12k city bay run as a reward for not smoking, and that worked for me. Nicotine first, then other healthier choices become logical next steps.16 -

That's so great! Your stomach shrinks after a while so you can't handle the quantities of food you used to. Not at first anyway. I think of it like a safety mechanism, my body warns me when I eat too much all at once. Good for you also in noticing your new habits!8 -

Giving up cigarettes and lighters - Bravo!! Good for you. Good luck on your healthier lifestyle.7 -
mpkpbk2015 wrote: »My NSV to today was going to the Spa my birthday present to me from me. And being able and not ashamed to get a massage. Before the idea of taking my clothes off and having someone rub my fat around was appalling to me. Instead of going to dinner tonight I went to the spa this morning for a spa, manicure and pedicure it was awesome. A combination reward for reaching goal by my birthday and birthday present rolled into one. This was my first massage EVER in my life it was amazing.
Happy Birthday! That's a fantastic NSV - good for you! So glad you had a great present to yourself, you've earned it!4 -
My NSV is holding a 3 minute 30 second plank in our plank challenge. On Monday's we add 15 seconds every week until we hit a 5 minutes plank.20

My NSV is that I did not eat in the evenings after dinner for 7 straight days. Once I start eating in the evenings, even healthy foods, I want more food. There is a psychological component to this behavior, and I am really happy to be working on changing this behavior (habit)..

I will put this just in case. TW: Drug use. Please do not read if this story, if it might trigger something in you, to be disrespectful, or if this story makes you feel unsafe. I am sorry if I have done something to offend you, but I thought I would share my story.
Now I will give you a little background story, so you'll understand that this is huge for me.
In August 2019, I started to hang out with a couple of bad people that drugs, for example, they smoke weed and did harder drugs than that if you know what I'm getting at. Well, me being me at the time I decided I would try it because why not? you only live once. I got addicted to the harder drugs for about a year and needed help, but I had no one to go to. During this time I had lost a lot including a lot of my family, my boyfriend, and many many friends. Well, I decided to try to go to my mom for help because she's my mom and I needed help. What she did was awful, but it worked she had kept me in her house for 2 months. During that time I was not allowed to go out and see these people, I had got them out of my life completely, and I even found a way to cope with the withdrawals and everything, but I did have to go to work so that was pretty much the only time I got to talk with someone.
Now, I am about 9 months sober, and I feel great. I have turned my life around, and I have surrounded myself with people that will support me. I have officially changed for the better, and I am happy with my presence. I had found MFP about 1 month after "I was released". I saw that this may help me become a healthier person and the person I aspire to be. I have many details out because some are too harsh that I am not ready to talk about yet. Now some people will say that my mom did the wrong thing and she should've given me to a professional. I didn't want to go see someone that doesn't know about my past. I am an antisocial person in real life, and I never know who I can trust, so please respect my decision. I would like to say thank you to everyone that took the time to read this and I hope this never happens to you and have an amazing day!44 -
The World Health Organisation recommends that you achieve 150 heart points per week to keep fit and healthy.
I just beaten that number for the first time this year managing 164 points so far, and there's still 5 hours left to go today!10 -

Everyone walks a different path and yours has been difficult. Kudos to you for knowing who to go to and to getting it done. be proud of kicking that habit and developing new ones. Your health is so important because without your body, you are no where. great job!4 -

Congratulations on giving up.
I gave up in 1998. I still have many lighters. I am a scuba diver, and I keep some in my kit to burn the ends of string to keep my kit neat.5 -
I'm back exercising, finally feel able after getting down 30 lbs.14

I'm starting to fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes22

I used to bowl with my daughter when she was young but i had to stop when i got to large. after 20 + years i went bowling with my daughter. the ball didn't stick to my thumb. i was able to bend over, for the most part, but i definately looked awkward. i also injured myself but am happy. i tweaked either a hammy or butt muscle. i told her the scores didn't matter, but she did beat me. lol32 -
Someone noticed my weight loss! I am down 35 pounds and she is the first person to have commented on it. I was beginning to feel like it didn't show. Also I am taking out my summer clothes. While I can still wear a lot of them I look much better in them and I have several things I have been saving for years that I can finally fit into again.22
