  • I lost 75 pounds at age 58 (from 210lb to 135lb). I did it in about 10 months ( other than the last 5). No loose skin. I think a lot of it is genetic luck.
  • A cruise. No not in order to lose weight for the cruise. But 1) The very nice concierge on the ship who was clearly over 200 pounds who had the audacity to suggest (by repeatedly asking where I bought my outfits) that we were the same size……oh wait, um…. 2) All those massively obese people who needed a scooter to get…
  • Eating breakfast was a disaster for me, weigh wise. Morning is the only time I’m not hungry. If I eat in the morning I’m starving all dang day. I eat about 1/4 of my calories at lunch time. And 3/4 at night. For me this is the only thing that works. Down 75 pounds since 2018 and have kept it off with only slight (5-6…
  • For me it’s calories. Period. Full stop. I lost 75 pounds starting 4.5 years ( took 11 months) ago and have kept it off. I did not one lick of exercise when losing. I never tracked macros. I never tracked or even drank a particular amount of water. I have started walking since my loss for better health generally ( I aim…
  • Started MFP in 2018 and lost 75 pounds. I’m 62 now. I’ve kept it off since loss fluctuating no more than 5-6 pounds. When I start to creep up I go back to diligent tracking and eating st the low end of my calorie range.
  • Ok. The “event” was my daughters engagement! And I lost the 5 pounds. I even lost another pound that weekend ( too much going on to eat much….which is unheard of for me). Now 6 lbs more in the next year or so before the ( no exact date yet) wedding. To get to my high school weight. It may be a bit unrealistic but I’m ok if…
  • For some of us unfortunately no. It’s like Monica’s line from Friends. “There’s a fat girl inside of me. I never let her eat”. As an always healthy food eater ( fish, roasted veggies, lean meats, few carbs) , it’s especially a challenge. I don’t eat differently than before my loss. I just eat different amounts.
  • For some of us unfortunately no. It’s like Monica’s line from Friends. “There’s a fat girl inside of me. I never met her eat”. • My victory today was immediately chucking the Soft Surroundings catalogue into the recycling. Don’t get me wrong, I was incredibly Grateful to this company for selling jeans that looked normal but were comfortable when I weighed 75 pounds more. But so happy I don’t need them anymore and can wear size 28 waist (which is a…
  • @justanotherloser007 I’m still…despite 75 pounds lost and at a healthy weight… a DDD. Sigh.
  • I lost 75 pounds 4 years ago. In early July I noticed that some clothes were getting tight. Instead of letting myself go until I had regained all the weight like I had in the past, I got back to strict tracking. Today all those clothes that were getting tight fit perfectly again.
  • Microwave 100 calorie popcorn or skinny pop pre bagged is a good snack choice. Takes a while to eat.
  • I don’t count veggies but I do count fruit ( except for berries). It’s the one thing I “took” from Weight Watchers that worked for me. I too counted 1200 calories. Not counting veggies incentives me to eat them. 75 pounds later this method worked for me.
  • No one. Not even my husband who is the most unobservant person you’ve ever met. When I’d lost about 60 of my 75 pounds we were out to dinner with friends who were like “Oh my goodness you’ve lost so much weight!” And my husband looked surprised. When people asked how he reacted to my 75 pound loss I would say “ he never…
  • I started around 210 pounds and didn’t see a real difference in the mirror until I hit the 170’s. Other people started noticing around the high 160’s. Usually commenting on how “ flattering” my outfit was. The first “ oh my goodness you’ve lost so much weight” comment was in the 150’s. And then about every 12 pounds down…
  • “Keep it up” or” keep up the good work” is among the most obnoxious “praise/encouragement “ possible. Do not say this. My only satisfactory reply is a very cool “Thank you for your advice” accompanied with a dead-eyed stare.
  • I’m about to attend ( in six more weeks) an event with a lot of picture taking so I want to lose an extra 5 pounds from my normal ( post goal loss) right now. I’m down 2.5 pounds since the start of the month so im hoping to get there.
  • I am at 4 years. But my mom lost 60 pounds when she was in her 50's. She's almost 90 now and has kept it off.
  • I really disliked “ keep up the good work”. It meant to me “ you need to do more”. Yuck.
  • I eat Trader Joe’s Grass Fed Sirloin a lot. It’s under 200 calories for the entire individually packaged serving. I usually have with a side of roasted veggies.
  • Some people I know are “secret eaters”. These aren’t even obese people. Just in the overweight category. But if they ate what you saw them eat all the time they’d be very thin. ( salad with no dressing and a small amount of lean protein, half a turkey sandwich and a small helping of fruit. ) And the declare themselves “ so…
  • I too ate mostly healthy before so I wasn’t one of those people who had a reason to change ( or could be helped by changing) what they ate. I had to change how much. Oils are a calorie monster. You do have to measure those carefully. And likely cut back. But calculating calories really is pretty simple. Your phone has a…
  • I have two no hold barred cheat days. My birthday and Mother’s Day. These are about six moths apart for me and have worked well for the last three years. I eat my “ never” foods those days. Ribs, Pasta and tons of bread.
  • The reason WW doesn’t work for me is that zero point foods weren’t creating a calorie deficit. “But how many bananas or gapes can you eat” says WW fan- friend. Me:” 5 bananas and 5 pounds of grapes a day. ” . Not kidding. Wish I was.

  • I lost 75 pounds in 2018 by counting calories and have kept it off. With apps like MFP calorie counting is very simple. It takes me less than 10 min a day to log my calories ( usually less)
  • Me too! I lost 75 pounds and went from a 40F to a 38F. My back is still very broad and the boobs large. I’m at a healthy weight but in order to get dresses to fit I have to go up a few sizes if there’s a zipper. I’m a size 6 in skirts and pants and in shirts and jackets can easily wear a medium ( because of stretch in most…
  • I lost 75 pounds in 10 months without any exercise in my late 50’s. . But I think you have to be a very very stringent recorder of calories. Weigh and measure everything. Record all the BLT ( bite licks and tastes. [
  • I’ve mentioned before but I met a friend of my moms before I lost weight and then when we were introduced again after with my mom saying “you remember my daughter” her friend said “No I only met your other daughter.” But I’m the only one. Lol.
  • I started at 212 pounds as a 58 year old 5 ft 5 in woman. I fully admitted I was sedentary and set 1200 calories which I stuck to religiously. I lost almost exactly 2 pounds per week until the very week I hit “ normal” BMI. Then my loss immediately went to 1pound per week and then .5. Now if I started at say 150 and wanted…
  • When calorie counting required keeping a separate journal from what one carries around day to day as well as having a pen handy and a book to check calorie counts I think doing it permanently seemed unrealistic. Now that it’s done with one device you carry anyway and takes about 2 minutes a day, that doesn’t seem…
