In this related thread, I included some links to resources I found this year. There are many opinions. One common theme is that everyone is different and everyone needs to figure out what works for you.

I typed the eggs, then added the whites. I don’t normally eat just egg whites, so not that familiar with how they log. In terms of Greek yogurt vs eggs, when I log them, the protein is about the same, but the fat is very different:

I'd say it is just skin that needs to be there so that you can do things like reach up high to the top shelf. IMO, you don't need to lose any more weight. I know BMI is flawed, but it is easy: You are right in the middle of normal BMI. Based on the pictures, you seem pretty young. If I were you, I'd stick with what I'm…

High protein & low in fat: Cottage cheese protein powder —> I use LeanFit. I like both the chocolate and the vanilla Soy beans & Tofu Greek Yogurt Beans High in protein & also high in fat: Nuts and seeds —> chia, flax, hemp, pumpkin, peanuts, almonds to name a few —> but these come with fairly high fat at well. Eggs —> in…

Posting late today. Didn't weigh this morning. 7 day trend weight from yesterday is 144.2. For now, I'll go with that. Week 7 start 144.0 goal 143.0 actual (for now) 144.2 —> Essentially, maintenance. Week 8 goal —> sticking with the 143 until I get there. I'm looking at my tracking sheet and seeing a lot of "not tracked"…

I don't normally have this 'problem'. But I'm also not certain what you mean by the minimum calories. To my mind the minimum calories are 1200 for women and 1500 for men. MFP may give you a higher number based on your starting point and activity level. I would never eat less than 1200 calories in a day. I mean, even if I…

@plantpowered Sorry to hear you were laid off. I 'took' a package last fall after 30 years. At first I thought I'd look for another job, but now after nine months, I'm enjoying retirement at 57. @dawnbgethealthy Love your garden and how you stay so active. @plantpowered and @dawnbgethealthy Regarding gym: I'm with both of…

I'm not going to make my week 7 goal, but I feel good. It is hard to believe that on day 44 I wrote that I felt confident about meeting my week 7 goal. Perhaps I was overly confident and took my eye off the ball? IN were on average, too high this week. It gives me a glimpse into future maintenance calories; maybe? I cannot…

@plantpowered Going for a walk instead of eating chips! So, strong. @deepwoodslady Sorry to hear about the medical insurance. I'm Canadian, we have universal healthcare, but not everything is included. However, treatment at a chiropodist for an ingrown toenail would be. @Grandma16grandkids We're approaching half way…

I realized I double entered an item on Saturday. I've corrected my calories IN. Sunday was another unusual day. I picked up the garbage in the park behind our house and exercised. Then we went to Cabbagetown for a ROM walking tour. The tour was interesting. But it was hot and I didn't eat enough before we went, so was…

@dawnbgethealthy Love your garden!!

BOD increased their price last year when they merged BOD and BODi. I think they lost quite a few subscribers. This year, they offered all kinds of discounts. I did an early renewal last fall for pretty close to what the price used to be. My favourite program is MBF + MBFa. I just finished two rounds of MBF + MBFa (total 12…

Dinner was salad and a glass of wine for dinner PLUS a little bruschetta and a half of a cup of cottage cheese. I went way over on the IN, wiped out my deficit for the week. I did go for an evening walk to move my body. Today I will exercise.

@dawnbgethealthy Nice view! Thanks for sharing. I'm looking forward to seeing mountains in August. Based on your garden comments, I think you have the garden of my dreams. My husband & I both grew up in the Niagara region. Living in the GTA now, we've tried several different gardens and have had very little success. That…

Posting late today. Yesterday was the first day I really really felt retired. I had an ultrasound at 3 and theatre tickets for a 7:30 curtain and we almost forgot both of them. Thank goodness for calendar reminders! Weird eating day yesterday. Ended up have a quick gazpacho soup for dinner. But then at intermission, I was…

yes. All the time. one, two … or seven days does not define us. This is a lifestyle not a diet. It is the consistency and trend over the long haul that matters. I recently posted a precision nutrition article. I like their ‘dial’ approach. It really puts things in perspective for me.

You are all rock stars!!

agree with other replies. consider updating your profile with your new weight and goal and see what target calories MFP gives you. I also like the calculator.net’s target calorie calculator. you might also want to try eating at maintenance for a week or two and then go back to a deficit.

A little update. I’m now at 11 pounds lost in 6 months. Another resource I’ve come across is Dr Stacy Sims

agree with other replies. you might also find this menopause related thread helpful

like everything else, it depends on you and how long it takes you to lose or gain a new habit. for me, I think it was maybe a month or so. the beginning is the most challenging because you’re searching for every food item. I tend to eat the same kinds of food and have certain meals and recipes created. Once you have that,…

My youngest daughter used to take magnesium to help manage anxiety. It is supposed to have a calming effect on the nervous system. I’m on (and have been in since 2017) an SSRI. I’m a late bloomer, based on the reading I’ve done this year, I’m really convinced that I should go off it and likely that I never really needed…

@deepwoodslady re “BTW, I FINALLY got a little sleep last night. Almost 7 hours which is UNHEARD of for me. Feels SO good! Have a great weekend everyone!” So glad you got a good night’s sleep. re “magical 7” I know what you mean. It never seems real until it’s been there for a bit.

Welcome to the MFP community. We are a great group of supportive people who like to swap ideas, share successes and do our best to respond to questions like yours. The other replies already answered your specific question. I recommend to all newcomers the following: track your food for 2 weeks . This is just data, don’t…

I would expect that to show as linear on your graph. I wonder why it shows as a curve. I’ll have to think about that.

I looked at just my Challenge #3 weights. For me, there still doesn't seem to be a significant difference between 7 & 10 days. I think part of the 'problem' is that I spiked up in May when we went east. That created a big bump that smooths out both the 7 & 10 day averages. Regardless, same data.

@plantpowered RE "I understand that even when I hit goal, the only way to stay there will be to keep the habits that I'm building now." —> That is the secret sauce! This is a lifestyle, not a 'diet' or a 'temporary' thing that we're doing to see a specific number on the scale.

A new 2025 low scale today! Nice to celebrate the small wins along the way. Went over on food yesterday. My husband does all the shopping and cooking in our house (I know, I am spoiled and have been for 34 years). Yesterday, he bought farmed salmon steaks at Costco. 4 in a package, package was 1600 grams. That's 400 grams…

@Crochetluvr Re "I also picked up a new bathing suit I ordered from Macy's. I was so pleased as to how it looked on me! Five more pounds and it will be perfect, but I can still wear it. No plus size suits anymore!" —> To me, this statement is what this is all about…. Feeling good in our skin and in our clothes. @Jon4189 Re…

Re “I haven’t had more than 4 hours of sleep per night in about a week now. I just wish I could sleep in but my body wakes me. Cold and rainy in Michigan.” The heat has moved on in southern Ontario as well. Today it rained and we needed it. I’ve also struggled with sleep. There are lots of suggestions on how to train our…
