Hi As someone who has already done what you're attempting (went from ~270 to 172 as of this morning), I think a buddy system might not be ideal. This comes purely from my point of view and my experience - so please don't misunderstand when I say this. The way I see it, if you can't stick to something (any sort of…

One thing I've gotten WAY more often than expected is: "Can... Can I see your stomach?" After losing 110lbs, and getting pretty lean overall they always expect a lot of loose skin. Fortunately I don't have that much.

I've never been to a real gym; After/while losing 100lbs, I started a very basic calisthenics workout to keep my strength, and it sort of evolved to 3/week full body, all done with resistance bands, a floor mat, and a pullup-bar/dip-station. I'm honestly amazed at the progress I've been able to make in terms of muscle…

This is probably more specific than you were thinking, but THE one exercise that had the biggest impact on my general fitness and strength is heavy rowing (bent-over, chest supported, even machine-pulldowns and pullups). A strong upper to mid back is the first thing you notice when you improve your general fitness - in my…

Fat free yogurt or skyr, thinned out with a liquid of your choice, flavored with cookies&cream Protein powder (I use MyProtein), and solidified with gelatin. Serve with fruit and/or (powdered) peanut-butter. Easy, nutritious Panna Cotta.

How easy it was for me to change my life and lose 110lbs. I know people struggle with it, and I'm not belittling them, but it was almost like I was doing something wrong before, and when I did change it was like "Oh, so THIS is normal? Neat."

Trying to get to 75kg (165lbs) before Christmas to combat the inevitable (and accepted) weight-gain over the holidays.

And eventually wanting shirts that hug, because your physique allows it? That's how it was for me, anyway...

This is so true, especially if like me, you have a slightly malformed tailbone which was padded by fat, but now isn't anymore. I am actually considering having surgery to fix the malformation, because it has become almost unbearable to sit on anything firmer than a gymnastics-ball or very fluffy pillow.

You bring up a good point, but the thing is, that is kind of a non-issue for me. Right now, progress for me isn't defined as "losing weight", because I am currently at my goal-weight. And for building muscle (which IS my current goal), eating that calorie surplus is actually a good thing (at least to a degree), so the real…

Well yeah, that is why I want the change the behavior. And it's not like they don't get any of it. The usual thing is, my mum bakes, we have some for dessert, and I just don't stop, unlike the others. As a bit of an update, I had a talk with my mum, and we did come up with a system where there is a set portion set aside…

Yeah, i mean I suggested not baking at all, but it is quite an unfair thing to impose.

Writing my original post, I actually came up with the same Idea: If it is "designated" as being for someone else, by my own logic, I should not be compelled to eat it. I will most definitely give this a try. As to the "why", your explanation is probably the best. Believe me, I thought much about it, and it being some sort…

Interestingly, you look like you're supposed to be thin. Just suits you, good job! 110lbs down myself, and I agree with most of your tips

Walked to my car from work (about 1km), and was out of breath. Thought "Oh this sucks", lost 46kg.
