  • I'm 5ft10 and if I'm wearing heels they are 5 inches or more. I used to hate being taller than everyone but now I love it. I don't care that they make me taller than my boyfriend, I want everyones eyes on me and my long strong legs when I walk in a room!
  • Hi! I'm Grace. I live in the UK on a working farm. We have 5 Australian kelpies. I love working with dogs and hope to become a sheepdog trainer. (Even if it's just having my own really good dogs) I also love hiking, running, cycling and doing pretty much everything else with my dogs. These kelpies are fit and I need to up…
  • Today I did my morning strength workout. Luckily I have home gym set up so I could get in some weight training. This afternoon my partner and I went for a 2 hour hike. I'm really happy and proud that my endurance is getting good enough to do lots in one day!!
  • I'm a 5ft10 158lbs female in my early 20s, that is a very healthy weight range to be in. I know men and women are different but still. Are you wanting to lose more weight? Have you thought of a body recomposition instead of just weight loss? Also eating back exercise calories is important, I know mfp isn't always accurate…
  • I struggle with constant snacking during my period. I am always hungry and always want chocolate/sweets. Generally my workouts aren't affected but my other activity (mostly walking) decreases. I try to keep busy so I am not at home to snack. I also try to remember that it is only a few days out of the month so if I go a…
  • Congratulations on losing 8lbs! Also I feel you on the in bedroom confidence. My weight has fluctuated quite a bit over the last couple of years but my partner says he likes me no matter what I weigh. Try to think about how happy you are about the weightloss while in the bedroom to help make you feel better. You could…
  • I was 5ft10.5 but after breaking my back I am 5ft9.5. I have had a lot of weight fluctuations over the last few years mainly due to mental health issues. I've spent the last few months gaining muscle and now I am trying to get lean. Currently 160lbs trying to get to about 150lbs. Feel free to add me!
  • Try focusing on how you look and feel instead of the scale. I have been working on getting fitter and losing weight since last November. From then to the middle of may I didn't lose a single pound on the scale, but I took mesurements and I had lost almost 2 inches off my waist and gained half an inch around my biceps. Try…
  • It's great that you are trying to lose weight/get healthy! A 600 calorie deficit is quite big and might be difficult to keep up long term because you might end up having low energy from not eating enough. If you aren't really increasing your exercise then as you lose weight your matinience calories will decrease so your…
  • Idk what kind of cycling you are doing but when I was competing in XC mountain bike racing for the longer races I would have a bottle with a mixture of water coca cola (or similar) and creatine for fast energy in races. It's not really something I would have outside of racing but it definitely gives you and energy boost
  • I wish I was better at jumping rope, I always trip on it as I start to get tired. My partner does do it twice a week for overall cardiovascular health and it is helping his endurance, he is able to skip (jumprope) longer each week. If it's something you enjoy you should do it!
  • That is definitely something to be proud of! The only reason I didn't gain weight is that the beginning of lockdown was also the beginning of the busiest time of year for our farm! Also I love deadlifts, and weight training in general. When I was in hospital with a broken spine a physical therapist came to teach me how to…
  • All I would say is go to a local bike shop and see what they've got. Even if none of them are right for you you can get a better idea of what you want. Also when you get it think about going in to get it fitted properly. Proper seat height and stem length can make a huge difference to how comfortable a bike it
  • P-90X by Tony Horton is old but still an amazing programme. I think you can find some of the workouts online
  • Hi , I'm in mid Wales. I tried this app years ago and never took it seriously but this time around I'm committed and so far I have found getting involved in the community aspect really helpful for staying motivated!
  • Thats awesome! I can't jog for an hour at any speed
  • How big a deficit are you trying to achieve? Have you recently started a new exercise programme? Starting to workout or trying new workouts can cause a lot of water retention and mask fat loss. Take some measurements and see if they are changing or if clothing is starting to fit more loosely. I lost 3 inches around my…
  • Having a 'perfect' diet is not necessary unless you are a professional athlete and often detrimental to your mental health. I have been there before where I feared going to family events or out with my friends because I couldn't weigh and track everything and I would end up bingeing and then hating myself. It's not a nice…
  • Hello everyone! I am trying to get fit again after breaking my spine just over a year ago! Please add me if you want motivation and support!
  • Hi! I'm in Wales! Welcome to mfp
  • I found a girl called madfit on YouTube today and she has a few fun dance workouts that I use for warming up! I also use them just because they are fun and the music is good
  • I either workout barefoot or with barefoot shoes on, I love vivobarefoot, human feet are amazing feats of biological engineering! Shoes get in the way of your feet working optimally and if the feet aren't working optimally then the rest of the body won't be either.
  • Keep going! Water retention is a real thing especially when starting a new workout programme. Stick with it and don't get discouraged. Also try reducing your calorie intake a bit. The MFP calculators aren't gospel. I manually adjusted mine because the calculation gave me way more calories than I need. Remember that things…
  • I like to reward myself with clothing which is usually also something I need because my old ones are to big. Also going out in my new clothes!
  • Lifting has allowed me to gain muscle and burn fat to a certain point, I am now focusing on losing fat which is all about the calories. Lifting is great for you especially if you enjoy it! But keep in mind it might increase your appetite which can halt weightloss. Congratulations on losing 4lbs that's awesome!
  • Eating waayyyy to quickly for one. The other thing I struggle with is the "go on then" culture in the UK (moved here last year) you offer everyone tea and cookies, or cake etc. and everyone offers you some. Usually they ask a few times until you say "oh go on then I'll have one'
  • Thanks for everyone's feedback! Mostly I was just curious about what other people thought about it. Personally I don't think its particularly harmful but I do think I should be able to deep squat without it happening. (Currently I cannot but I'm working on it) I don't have good enough hip and ankle mobility or strong…
