If it fits in your plan you can have it at any time of the day you want it. No foods are really restricted to certain meals-- eggs can be for breakfast, chicken can be for dinner, smoothies can be for lunch, etc...

THat's clever, slicing up the frzn pizzas before cooking so you can take 1 serving at at time. Pizza is a rarity for me these days but when I'm in the mood I make a flourless cloud bread pizza dough crust. It's a bit time consuming but it's nice for a treat. I'm gonna make extra next time and freeze individual slices, duh…

I'm always looking for keto breads, honestly I don't even remember one that was made in a bread machine because they don't have flour & don't require kneading. So I'm gonna throw up some links just in case they are useful to you, I don't know how to use a bread machine so I don't know if you can convert it to work in your…

I'm gonna look out for it, gotta give it a try. At this point I do a balance of sat fats/unsat fats because the sat fats have played a huge role in satiety for me to help me get past my eating disorders. In time, esp. after this round of PT for the next couple of months, I hope to get cleared to start strength training. At…

Looks good. I was gonna make taco bowls tonight but I'm gonna save them for tomorrow now as my stomach got upset from something that disagreed with me.

You should really have your dr. set you up with a nutritionist, however you didn't mention protein... are you getting enough protein? Fat & protein are important when you're pregnant.

I try to track to 1) make sure I am keeping my macros balanced (mainly my carbs) and 2) to make sure I'm not going over/under my daily calories as I tend to still do when not paying attention. I'm not quite there yet where I can keep track of it all in my head as the day goes on. Oct-Dec. seems people are always doling out…

When I sit down at the end of the night with my coffee I am trying to get into the habit of planning out my next day-- what I'll cook, what I'll eat, etc. That might change sometimes, I can always change it up later but I feel like doing it the same time when I'm used to having my coffee reminds me to plan ahead. When I…

I disagree that it wasn't that impactful. Sure, there were still people who ate what they wanted. However, there were plenty of people who were actually trying to follow guidelines that turned out to be faulty. Modern-day guidelines are STILL misleading people, based on much of the information of that time. neanderthin…

1st... The bunk about the blue zones is the claim that it is evidence that the longevity of these areas is due to any particular kind of diet. It's been debunked pretty well. 2nd... I don't do keto, and I have never said keto was better than any other diet. I have REPEATEDLY said people should find their own sweet spot--…

Hello. 54 yr old female here, I'll send a friend request. How are things going?
-
You said it all much better than I ever could have, but this example is exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about. Even people who listened to the so-called experts have been misled due to the faulty science from decades ago. Even when people are trying, they're still unknowingly doing the wrong thing, choosing the wrong…

Hi & Welcome.

Awesome, happy mommy anniversary!! Sheesh it goes so fast, doesn't it? Sounds like a great dinner. Have fun!

Ha I knew sardines weren't popular but I was hoping to find someone to compare notes with. Protein diet sounds like it would work pretty similarly though.

Hello Angela, and welcome. The tools here on MFP are really helpful and the people in the forums are very supportive. Are you still on WW? I went to one meeting once, like 30 yrs ago lol, as a guest of a member, but I never joined. I looked at her little booklets and stuff with her diet & tracking, seemed pretty standard…

I'm not an expert and I haven't tried to transition off low carb (and don't really plan to, being that I am diabetic), but sticking to complex carbs makes sense as a plan. Maybe make sure to eat them with protein to slow down the digestion a bit. Or maybe cut back a little for now and raise them more slowly. Or stick to…

Yesterday I was just so not hungry, I had leftover kilbasa & cabbage from the night before and that's it (other than coffee w/cream). I even had to add some butter just to up my calories a little. Today I was hungry, so I ate 2 meals. The first was some air-fried chicken drumsticks seasoned with a goya packet and brushed…

Looks sooooo gooood yum. Never tried walnut oil, does it taste like walnuts?

Usually I would say how you lose weight is no one's business, but if you're gonna try and package and market a specific plan then I think you should have to disclose if it worked for you, if you used any other tool or method or supplement, etc.

As far as I know this has been a debate for about 30 yrs. At least that's how long I've been hearing about it. Frankly I can't see how it would be harmful in moderation.

Yeah I agree this is a bad way to go about ketogenic dieting. The whole point of keto is to burn off the fuel from recently digested carbs, the body's preferred fuel because it is easiest to burn. It takes at least a couple of days to do that... it's around this point where people tend to get what is called the "keto flu",…

First of all, yes there was a low fat craze. I remember it. You can call it what you want. And yes, it did correlate and have some causation in the obesity epidemic. The blue zone study was really faulty. He looked at 21 regions and ignored ones that didn't have the outcome he wanted. His data was faulty, like his research…

Hello. Can you link to the study? I'd be interested. I saw a study, can't remember where I found it though, that when you're IFing and in ketosis you will burn more fat if you exercise in the day before you break your fast. I've found this has been working pretty well for me overall. I wonder if it's the same study. Either…

How I use my air fryer almost every night: I take out meat (steak, burger patties, chicken breast, chicken leg, pork chop, fish fillet, etc.). May be defrosted but can also be frozen. I sprinkle on a little salt and seasonings, whatever I'm in the mood for. I put them in one side of the air fryer. I put veggies, fresh or…

Once again, no disagreement here for the most part. The only disagreement is that I do think macros played a role... by villainizing one macro (incorrectly, I might add), and certain foods associated with it, and promoting another (again, incorrectly), it drove people's dietary choices. That in part encouraged people…

I don't do specifically keto; I just kept lowering my carbs and raising protein, until eventually realized I could not eat that much protein and started raising my fat. I settled close to what is apparently known as "dirty/lazy keto'. Still, full disclosure, I never personally set out to follow any kind of keto diet plan.…

That can be an issue for low-carbers, I'm one who happens to enjoy cooking and have the time but I go through my busy seasons too where I have extra work or appointments outside of town with my autistic son. For those days I don't have the time, I find my air fryer a salvation. I just throw in anything frozen-- steak, fish…
