Got a call yesterday afternoon to let me know there was a cancellation and asked if I wanted to come in to get my first dose. Happily made the 45 minute drive. Arm is super sore today, but I'll take it.

I wouldn't wish flu on my worst enemy. Not sure which was worse...the 104 degree fever for multiple days, the infection afterwards that caused me to cough up green stuff for over a month, the impetigo that caused sores from my nose to my chin. And I'm a fairly healthy person overall. I wanted to die. If COVID is "just…

I will sheepishly admit that I, until recently, was not fond of the flu vaccine. Last year, we decided we didn't want to play the game of, "Is it flu or is it COVID?" and we all got our flu vaccine. I'm sure it was a combination of the shot, social distancing and masking, but the only illness that struck the house over the…

My husband has had his first dose for almost a month now. He hasn't had any communication from the mothership nor is my 5G signal boosted at home. He also didn't turn into a zombie. I really thought something cool would happen. :'(

Frankly, unless you have M.D. or PHD behind your name, I couldn't care less about your uneducated opinions about COVID or about long haulers. PS....this same friend has had pneumonia in the past. She did NOT suffer the same long term effects like she is with COVID. Also, Pot meet Kettle. Telling me I'm a "propaganda…

But but but....the dancing "Intuitive Eating Registered Dietitian" on TikTok tells me that calorie counting is evil!! Here's the thing...this will be long term for me. My prior behaviors show that when I come off counting calories, I gradually slip back into bad habits. The weight slowly creeps on and before I know it, I'm…

A really nice run this morning to start the day. I took one of my more challenging routes that just seems to be all uphill after mile 3. :D March 23 - 5.26 miles Total for March - 65.28 miles Goal for March - 70 miles Miles to go - 4.72 miles Mileage goal for the week-(March 22 - March 28) - 25 miles - 19.74 miles to go

It really depends. If it's an "A" race that I am running for time, I take several days off and allow myself to run what I want, when I want for the week following. If I'm running it for fun, maybe a day or two? I've ran the day after a half, it's not too bad.

Quick update... Our state is opening up vaccines to everyone starting May 1. I did opt to make an appointment based on the eligibility and will be receiving my first dose on April 11. I waffled back and forth, but ultimately, if I'm eligible based on the criteria, I'm going to get it. I'm guessing things will get crazy…
-
I just qualified as of today and I scheduled my first dose for April 11. Knowing that I get to hug my best friend at the end of April (her SO has many health issues that would kill him if he got COVID) has me crying this morning. I also don't have to be fearful of hugging my grandma as she's fully vaccinated and I soon…

Today's 5K went so well! So much better than I anticipated. Fairly small and they started people in 15 minute waves from 7 AM - 9 AM. Everyone was great with distancing and it was nice to get a small piece of normal back in my life. March 20 - 3.11 miles Total for March - 53.51 miles Goal for March - 70 miles…

Bad odds? Are you kidding me? I'll entertain your 99.98% survival rate. Out of the survival rate, we still don't know the long term impact of COVID-19. My coworker that "survived" is basically disabled at the moment. Brain swelling, heart swelling, she still has trouble breathing. She MIGHT be able to come back to work in…

My husband had an urgent health issue arise right around the time the hospitals starting filling up. Something that would have normally warranted at least a night of observation, pain meds, and further testing. He was sent home with a "good luck" and instructions to take Advil. That was fun.
-
All of that aside (and don't worry, I completely agree with you), people also fail to see that 1% of 328.2 million people is over 3 million dead. That would be devastating to our country and our economy. We don't want it to run rampant.

I've gone down that rabbit hole before. Many hours of my life I'll never get back.

I'm not blaming anyone for being overweight or obese. Especially coming off a 170 pound weight loss. I think you are not seeing where I am coming from on this. Yes, overweight and obesity carries a higher risk of severe complications from COVID. A BMI above 30 carries a 27% higher risk of severe complications and above…

Mine so much isn't what "I'll be able to do", it's more about what my mother will be able to do. She'll be able to see her grandkids safely. We haven't seen her in person since beginning of January. Prior to Feb. 1, my kids were in hybrid learning model where they'd go 4 days and then learn virtually the following week. If…

From my state's DHS website: https://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/covid-19/vaccine-about.htm Beginning March 29, individuals age 16 and older with certain medical conditions that have a greater risk of severe infection from COVID-19 will be eligible. The decision is based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control…
-
I just double checked to be sure, and yes, my state will be opening to the below categories (out of a long list of over 20 conditions) on March 29. They said something like 2 million will become eligible. Obesity (body mass index [BMI] of 30-39 kg/m2) Overweight (BMI of 25-29 kg/m2) Severe Obesity (BMI 40 kg/m2 or more)…

Get busy for one day and you miss so much! I'll have my first in person race in over a year (it will be 444 days to be exact) on March 20 and I'm excited but nervous. Just trying to focus on what I can control. I signed up for the last start time, so hopefully won't be a busy course. March 10 - 3.12 miles of speed work…

Well...it caught up to me. Today's run with rough, but I got through it. Was a beautiful morning and considering I almost didn't get out there, I'll take it as a win. March 9 - 4.5 miles Total for March - 22.91 miles Goal for March - 70 miles Miles to go - 47.09 miles
