  • one thing I realized is that there are goals but no finish line... this journey of health we have embarked on is a lifetime thing... my failures in the past were due to "getting to the goal and getting done with the diet", I now realize as I'm losing weight that the "diet" (low carb) is just the way I will eat for the rest…
  • Today I had to remind myself that 'slow and steady' is the right way to lose weight and give myself credit for the hard work I've done! Tomorrow is the weigh in day (every Tuesday), currently down from 300.4 to 262.0 since 7/7. I'm starting to see numbers I haven't seen in almost 20 years! Slow and steady - goal weight of…
  • Agree with LJ, when you're losing the weight and doing well work on a plan on what you will do to maintain once you reach your goal. I failed in the past because of this. Now I'm in the weight losss stage but I know what I will do once I get to my goal this time. Have a plan.
  • Mid March got the email from work saying "work from home for the next two weeks". Then it became WFH until the end of April, then it was July, then September - now it's Jan 2021 with the buzz that this is going to be permanent. In the beginning I ate and ate and sort of exercised... my weight crept up to 300.4! That number…
  • Great post LisaH - your self-discovery reminds me of a presentation I recently watched on-line. The premise was that we have so much data and research out there, why can't we definitively say which diet is the best for weight loss. The conclusion: the question isn't what is the best diet, but what is the best diet FOR ME.…
  • reminding myself that patience is a virtue... it took me years to get here, it may not take years to get healthier but it will take time. Stay the course.
  • many type 2 diabetics (not all) can reverse the disease with diet and exercise... let's not help out the drug makers anymore than they need! Great work Heidi!
  • Being new here the first thing I did before replying to this thread was finding out what NSV meant! Well after losing about 24 lbs in 4 weeks (about 60 to go) I noticed my feet don't look fat anymore! Also I have been able to incorporate some running in my daily walk the last 10 days. Can't wait to run a full 10k again!!!
  • I did let working at home feed into my laziness and bad eating - I gained weight since March but I have since changed my ways and am now weighing less than I did before COVID. I changed my thinking from COVID is making eating healthy difficult to COVID has nothing to do with my eating and exercise, that's up to me.
  • Read an article today that said COVID might be able to enter the ear canal. Shall we include ear muffs in this discussion or should I create another thread?
  • Hello all - joined MFP to track my low carb eating. I finally saw the dreaded 3 on the scale when weighing myself after a few months of denial (we know what that 3 means right? 300.4... yikes!). Working at home during COVID (5 feet from the fridge) made it easier to be lazy and eat the wrong things all day, I estimate that…
