  • @shanaber WOW. that is a lot to take in, the length of the sx and treatment. Glad the visit offers some solace. It sounds like you have a good plan. I am hopeful. I know pancreatic malignancy can come with little hope, but it sounds like you have the best situation and the team to beat it if it had to happen. The hip guy…
  • @HonuNui good to see you! Hope you all are doing well. I’ve bought the dogs floaty vests and look forward to getting them out to swim. I just hate the lake though. Eric says it like swimming in a landfill, ew. Maybe I’ll get a pool finally. @shanaber glad you watched ted lasso! I love Roy. He (& Rebecca) may be my alter…
  • @shanaber “oh f…”. (In Ted Lasso’s Roy Kent’s most frustrated response). I am sorry to hear that. I worked with a cna this semester, probably in her late 60’s who was in treatment for pancreatic cysts of some sort. She’d had them for decades and it was ongoing. So, I hope it is something that can be resolved with the…
  • @shanaber yes all is relatively well (Alex’s birthday the 5th and his death date coming up is difficult). Animals Nina Georgina Rowena is a bit wiggly to weigh but seems to be about 31-32 pounds. She is still a sweet lil turd. Mochi (the cardiac cat) seems to be slowing down. It’s getting warmer out and seems to get to…
  • @shanaber I realise this response is several days late, but how are you doing now? When is the foot sx? Did you talk to dd about your symptoms? Sure you know heart burn/nausea particularly in women can signal cardiac concerns. if you use an apple phone, you could ping the "find my" to rouse your DH, if you have another…
  • @quilteryoyo I like Luana. It'd turn into louie easily. I still cant decide. She is such a sweet pup. She is much more independent then kevin and sandy ever were. They love her so far. Sandy had a bit of adjustment, letting her know that she was boss. I asked for a beta female and expained the dynamic that we already have…
  • @shanaber I should hear from JH this week. I was accepted to OU and honestly it is close and cheaper. I accepted it. If JH makes an offer, I'll think on it & will have to work with financial aid to see if there are scholarships or such to make it worth it. I visited a layer regarding divorce. Of course, eric has changes…
  • No news yet from Johns Hopkins. I emailed them and asked when decisions would be made. Mid March to early April. Mochi Has cardiac changes and heart enlargement already. 😫 she’s back from getting spayed and doing good. They did a laser surgery. That’s cool.
  • The vet did mention that there is a cardiologist he can recommend and sometimes longterm med can help. I will discuss it more with him after I have her spayed next week. DH is being an a s s and refuses to accept it. I wont let him reprimand her at all and if she wants something she can have it. She isnt a pain in the…
  • @shanaber How long is this supposed to last? it's shingles that still keeping you down, right? Sounds like a struggle indeed. I hope you enjoy the trip. It sounds nice. I would love to visit Monterey. It was my ultimate running destination. Enjoy the couch snuggles with Hobbes. Regarding the MUSC acceptance. Yes it is…
  • just back from the vet with Hayami Mochi. The sadness is setting in. She isn't likey to get a good prognosis with the heart murmur. EKG will be done before she gets spayed which will be a baseline. Vet says that cat murmurs are almost always malignant. Life expectancy is 3-4 years. 🥹😔
  • Maintenance is hard... especially from the couch. I am 5'4" on left or 5'4.5" if I stand on my right leg. I have smaller build. Not one of those with nice legs and a rear (i got stick legs and no butt). I like 120. but, that seem unrealistic from here. ugh.
  • @shanaber No I did the face paint myself. After the fact, DD weighed in (she was busy at work) and said the colors were good. The lip paint is a bit too pink really, but zoom it was fine to have some additional contrast. Thanks for the support. Tell them to hurry up and "LET ME IN" lil pig! The day of the interview, We had…
  • Hi ALL!!!! My JH interview update. Felt connected and enjoyed the time with the interviewer. The process is round 1 (selection) which goes to round 2 (duh) the interview. Then on to 3 where final decisions are made to make an offer. I am being forwarded on to 3... er, she said so... I have nothing in writing... ruh roh.…
  • JH interview tomorrow. I was fine until talking to my violin teach about it. she got excited. dd got excited ... now i have nervous poos. they admit 25 students. I have an interview... I have an interview-- mantra. I have an interview... please feel free to drop last minute suggestions. What coulor of shirt should I wear?…
  • @shanaber Oh no! Terrible! I may have to get the vaccination. I am in denial that I'd develop it. Benadryl makes a topical too. Will that help? or even an oral Benadry? I think we all need to go visit @HonuNui and have some fish and chips and a red beer, after she gives us snorkling lessons. @CMorning99 No issues yet with…
  • I spent all day yesterday at the BMW dealership. Eric balked at repairs and tires and made me get a new car. I cried. IDK why. I dont know haow many cars we looked at. I swear the dealership just didnt want to sell us any. Every car was "well it wont be back til monday" out on loan or hadnt been through the service center…
  • Hi all! Look at me, being all normal-ish and logging and being accountable 😏. Rheumatologist put me on lyrica and i have been off of it for 2 days now. It makes me eat worse than prednisone does. I have gained 10-15 pounds on it... eeesh. I moved the scale to where i'll use it. My orthopaedic surgeon retired and I have a…
  • @shanaber The JH programme is online and requires one visit per semester. The visits are 2-5 days. All of the DNP programmes online have this component. OU is the most practical. It is the cheapest and closest. IDK what eric would say to a 25K/semester education. Not sure I could, but JH seems like it'd be a wonderful…
  • Hi all. I’m trying to get back to logging food daily. I haven’t logged since losing Alex. I am afraid of the scale. The lunar year is the bunny. I am trying to learn to eat like one, more veggies. I’ve submitted my applications for graduate schools. OU is relatively close and the best choice. I also applied to Johns…
  • hi all. I'm on a break between semesters. Lots of catching up on missed appointments and house cleaning. Mallory went AWOL back in September-october. I guess a coyote got her. I feel horrible about it. I think I let her out one wednesday and didn't see her again. I hope someone just took her. So I got Beary a "new" lil…
  • Beautiful non-running photos @Teresa502 ! Love the porch and the porch protectors! I am envious of your yard. It is still green and the hills/mounds. Which state/country are you in?
  • Yes. I was diagnosed with "distraction as a coping mechanism". 😁 With cooler weather upon us, are you looking forward to those brisk runs?
  • end of month question? Share a story, tid-bit, or pic that isn't running related! My monthly question is more of an update. I got new compression socks this week . Like many (once a) runners, I have an overdeveloped interest in stockings, pens, pencils, the proper key chain, the only acceptable drink cup, etc... I bought a…
  • @shanaber I took Kevin once as a therapy dog... he loved it, BUT scared one who apparently is afraid of dogs. She squealed in class and interrupted class, er Kev did. Then he got tired and wanted to leave, kept being a pest. then half fell asleep and heard people outside the door and BARKED! scared the ***** out of…
  • Hi all! I've been busy with school, chores, animals, music... hmmm. The psychiatrist I saw a year ago-ish said I used distraction as a coping mechanism. I kinda see that now. Aches and pains The lyrica helps. It's made me so tired, I'm here but just not engaged fully. I think it is suppose to get better though. OMG. My hip…
  • I dont get notifications with MFP. There is probably a setting, but I already had too many emails. Kevin is wearing himself out with a Buddha Bone, which is a dried rolled cow cheek. this one is PB flavoured. He loves it so much that she he is tired, he won't put it down and I have to save it in his crate, closed and…
  • I doubt there is talent there. I am just surprised that it actually looks like something haha! @shanaber post the link to the ADHD podcast when you get a chance. Mallory is fine. She was the cutest lil chipmunk kitten for a day.
  • @shanaber Anytime you add exercise your body will hold water for healing, as an inflammation response. I would'n worry about it. It seems that you can counter it with a bit of sweets, maybe some fruit, or granola etc. I ate ben and Jerrys every day for the last 3... pizza and local tamales, jalapeño cream cheese... so…
  • Good to see you all too. Thanks for the kind welcome. Here's a snoring Kevin and Brudah Bear with his new buddy Mallory (Tater tot) to undo some of the trauma imposed by sharing the traumatic dipshittery of Southern OK. It is just unbelievable. @Scott6255 well. Guess I'm special like that, sharing the oddness. I got an ASD…
