Hi Sarah One thing I have learned about dieting while working with professionals at medweight.ca is that you should treat yourself as you would your best friend --supportive and loving when struggling with food, so lots of self compassion.

I understand, if I were in your shoes after losing a partner and then a parent within relatively short order I'd probably do the same. Just give in, food and me are the same, even when it's little minor things, like stressing over buying new shoes I can turn to a pick me up. But I gotta say 32 lbs since August is quite an…

One thing that I have recently started/learned is to keep a cravings journal. It's relatively simple. I note down what I'm up to in the moment like what i was thinking for example like finding an accountability buddy and how I felt frustrated and angry that I couldn't find one then what I did, I set a timer for 10 minutes…

Hi Lindsey If your looking for a proper accountability partner I'd be up for the task just so long as you are an accountability partner for me? Here are some websites that we could work together towards that goal, I'd work out an itinerary to lay the ground rules of our partnership in an initial meeting. How does that…

I set my weekly weight loss to be 1 lb a week by my weight management doctor's recommendations which is approximately 1665 per week but found that I usually have to be 200 calories less than that to maintain a 1 lb weight loss per week. I started in October 2020 and have been exercising pretty regularly daily with a power…

I personally don't have a weight loss goal beyond getting to a healthy BMI but my family doctor who has no weight management experience has said I need to be at 130 lbs. I'm in no rush, but I just don't understand why I stopped losing weight. I will adjust my calorie count to be higher. Thank you for your thoughts
