My first real NSV... I tried on a blouse that I had not worn in 2 years. It fit and it is even roomy! I am very excited.

You are beautiful! Great job and I love your humor the name!

@uyister You are amazing and thank you for sharing your progress and thoughts with us! @KeriA I agree... I think finding the sweet spot regarding how many calories we need in order to lose is key. I have been eating more and losing inches. I will weigh in the morning to see how my numbers look.

Respectfully, I disagree with the blog post relating to the notion that slow metabolism and weight gain is "BS." That would mean that advice from a cardiologist, endocrinologist, GP, and 2 licenced nutritionists would all be wrong. Not to mention my own experience with how my body is responding to my caloric intake.…

@goal06082021 "Edit to add: not to muddy the waters, but if you're looking into TDEE, you'll probably run across the term "BMR" - this stands for "basal metabolic rate," which is basically the number of calories you would burn in a day if you were in a coma. It's the absolute, bare-bones minimum number of calories your…

Age: 55 Height: 5' 8" SW: 257.2 GW: 160 MSW: 241.0 4/11: 240.0 Down 1.0# over almost 2 weeks... I'll take it! Have been struggling with issues surrounding food and my calories and I really went off the rails in March. I have since stuck to my promise to myself that I would eat at least 1200cal/day. I have also put my…

@uyister That is a lot of stress! Good job on your exams and drop. Please stay safe!!

Thank you for the help! I have upped my daily goal and am off to a good start today. I will have to be very mindful of my tendencies and negative thoughts towards higher calories. As I have heard... you can't change what you don't acknowledge. This is a start and a life long journey!

Thanks @PAV8888 I appreciate you. When I started on MFP in January, It gave me a calorie goal of 1530. I am no longer swimming long distance so my cardio is kinda out the window currently. @xxzenabxx How do I figure out what the sweet spot is? I think I have already started a reverse diet... Although I had to look that up!…

Hi, Thanks for this thread. I have been under eating off and on for many years and recently went back into that mindset in March. It made no sense to me that I could be an endurance athlete and continue to gain weight. I am very accurate with my measuring and diligent with my logging. My weight loss slowed down in March…

@speyerj You certainly earned your cookies... enjoy! Great job with your race!
-
@uyister New bathing suit...you need that for all your newly acquired swimming skills! Congrats on your exams, too!

@Frompumpkin2cinderella We can do this... I made a rule for myself that I have to eat at least 1200 per day and if I get to my daily goal of 1400 then all the better. It is a mind exercise for me. I have not had any heart issues but used to swim miles and hours and only eat between 800-1000 cal/day. I thought that since I…

Happy April everybody! @uyister You are killing it, woman! I am so impressed!
-
@RavenStCloud Thank you for starting the April group!
-
@VegjoyP Oh my! This has been what I have been doing for a very long time. I have in the last 3 weeks fallen back into the 800-900cal/day range. I need to stop. I used to be an endurance athlete who could not lose weight. I am now learning that I was starving myself. Probably why I would get such terrible muscle cramps at…

@VickyEltonGreen That is a great job!

@ladychr0nic Walking is great exercise... especially long walks with your dog. It gets your heart rate up, burns calories, you get fresh air and affection from your pup, and happy endorphins! You are doing great. Enjoy it!

@misplacedmama Great job! Nice to see that woosh!

@FitAgainBy55 Arrhythmia does feel like a flutter and is worrisome although not considered a real problem. I like what you posted about running and the sweet spot.

From my own personal experience I do believe that intense, prolonged exercise causes inflammation and is not good for your body. I was an open water endurance swimmer for 12 years(until Aug. 2019) and I also cycled and ran for a bit. I trained almost everyday and sometimes several times a day, training others. It can be…

@uyister You are doing great! Good luck with all your quizzes and exams!

Thank you for sharing. It is good to read the good and the not so of your journey and the pics are great! Very inspiring.

@kali31337 Great job on the weight loss. As far as other issues go... try psyllium husk powder. I put it in warm water and it blends well. It is the same insoluble fiber in Metamucil.
-
@mumof6sv I am so sorry to hear about your losses. Be kind to yourself and take good care.
-
@Kaken21 I am up 1.5# since Sunday and frustrated too. Hopefully it is water weight and will come back off!
-
@speyerj - This is so good that I printed it out to reread as needed!

@ladychr0nic My husband is 6'5" and eats all the time, too. He snacks so much after dinner that I just go to the other room as it is easier for me. I also brush my teeth right after dinner so that I can complete my diary for the day. I will be right there with you... logging everyday, forever amen!
