  • I am in my late 50s and started in January. I walk..it's the only form of exercise other than swimming that I enjoy and that doesn't hurt my hips/knees. Pools are closed here due to covid so walking is my thing. I aim for 10,000 steps a day and 6-8 kms/day (3-4 miles). I am focused on getting healthier (lower bp, lower…
  • Welcome! I started back in January with the same goal .. to get healthier and get back some control! :) You can add me if you are looking for support on your journey! We can go there together.
  • Eggplant (Aubergine).. yuck.. yuck.. yuck.
  • This is good to know. I used a fitbit but I also have an Apple Watch. I have not used my Apple watch to connect to MFP so this is great information should I switch it up.
  • Spagetti Squash. I have tried it with spagetti sauce in stead of pasta but lately I have been just cooking it and adding a variety of spices with just a little real butter. So good.. so so good.. ya I think I will be making that tonight! Even my husband has taken a real liking to it.
  • I grew up in Cape Breton, NS where many Scottish migrants settled so there was a lot of Scottish influence in our daily lives. My grandfather and his siblings still spoke gaelic (he was from Ayr, Scotland) as did many of the older generation in my village. We have a Gaelic college, there were always bagpipes and fiddles.…
  • It's caramel (corn syrup, sugar and butter) that you add baking soda to in the final stage .. it bubbles up. You pour it on baking paper to set then break it in chunks and dip in melted chocolate. It's bubbly and airy but crunchy too. I used to make it in the microwave many years ago but haven't made it in years.
  • I made spaghetti squash with marinara sauce, shrimp with garlic, garden salad.
  • Welcome! I started using MFP when we went into lockdown on Jan 15th. Since then I have lost just over a stone myself (16.2 pounds, 7.3 kilos) and I am post-menopausal. Feel free to add me as a friend if you want.
  • Welcome from Canada. I have been to Scotland many many times and absolutely love the country, the people and the heritage. And yes the best chippies. I wish you the best of luck in your journey. I am currently on the same journey because I want to go back to Scotland as soon as this pandemic is over to see my friends there…
  • Christmas is over and it's now well into 2021 but I would like to join. I'm 57 and been using MFP for just over a month.
  • How do I add you?
  • You may be over-exercising. You muscles and body need time to heal. 6 days a week is a burn out schedule depending on what you are doing. Walking 6 days a week is fine but weight-lifting or running 6 days a week will lead to burn out or injury. My SIL is a personal trainer and she doesn't train 6 days a week. My daughter…
