This is where I am too!! I too am not interested in intuitive eating as a whole- however I am more interested to see where my “set weight” more or less ends up. I know I will range between 2,000-2,400 by not tracking and that’s still putting me most days in a very small deficit that is maintainable and while moving my body…

@AnnPT77 I always find you so insightful and interesting! Appreciate that. Thank you everyone :) here is to a fit fun week!

@wmweeza lol thanks! Go Hawks! Maybe next year will be better. However sounds like there may be some drama going down with Russell Nooooooooooooo. I mean it’s a little sad we haven’t been making it to the playoffs.

@dragon_girl26 For myself I grew up with a mother who had an extreme eating disorder and it really bothered me growing up, I remember being 6 I actually can remember the lighting and the way the room looked in the kitchen looking up at my dad and asking “why does mom only eat XYZ?”Why wouldn’t my mom ever eat ice cream…

I'd avoid reading articles with click-baity headlines like this. The title is "How ‘healthy’ food tracking apps could actually be leading to an increase in disordered eating" but when you read the article the thrust is that tracking can be bad for people who already have eating disorders. Well, duh. "Apps that help you…

I agree it’s definitely an individual thing and I think too it’s a great tool as people often go through the journey with different goal post set and nutrition is a make or breaker when it comes to these goals- I guess for myself I just really want to break away from as many crutches as possible and the more I read things…

Idea just popped in my head-Going to try post tracking. Just track at the end of my day for this week to see what my body naturally decides to eat off conscience eating verses seeing a physical number. I think this will be a fun experiment

I think “fit” looks different to and on everyone obviously- for my own body, I just want to look my fittest that I’ve seen on myself. That means, slight definition, but still slightly thick where: “I know that chick works out, but I can also tell she does a Winnie the Pooh dance while she eats.” As I was getting dressed…

^^^^^ that! Didn’t realize you hate exercise, my bad for not reading through.

Same as many. I follow just a calorie deficit and aim for the smallest deficit so that it’s easy to maintain. I aim for higher protein and with that it seems I tend to fall in a higher protein/ carb group then fat, I don’t pay attention to fat or carbs though- it just happens to be where I fall with the foods I choose and…

If I were giving you just my “street smarts answer” I would say I can somewhat relate. If I go into an active deficit and workout. Duh we lose weight right. If I eat at “maintenance” more or less and depending on how much I workout then I can re-comp so my body looks leaner and still lose body fat. Aka see it on the scale…

I remember hearing about these a few years back! Thanks for the reminder. I wonder if it’s more effective to do these during an active workout while blood is already flowing and muscles working or if you can just do any darn time

Vegetables- I kid, I kid- kinda, I’d rather spend 60 calories on a TVs of nerds for my Greek yogurt then on a cup of veggies- but yea yea. I eat them

I’m 5’ 6” 169 pounds and aim for 130-180 grams. I notice it’s a lot easier to lean out, muscle recovery and keeps me full.

Right! This is my problem with the “clean eater” “food snobs” I mean I think we all know we shouldn’t down 20 diet Coke’s a day and eat more unprocessed foods. That’s a given- however Hard core vegans get cancer too, should we be somewhat responsible eaters. Sure. I’ll enjoy my diet soda on occasion and even eat my lower…

Right! Strawberries are non-existent right now.

A black cup of foldgers makes me think of my Dad. I feel so adult drinking black :) I don’t know how I transitioned back to black- this past year (since Covid) I became a creamer girl. November-December I opted for a huge scoop of hot chocolate and half and half, sometimes candy canes and peppermint chocolate in there too…

I go out for ice cream with my girls once a week! I just opt for the kids scoop or single when kids size isn’t available. Fav flavors: Bubble gum, cotton Candy and last week found pop rocks ice cream at an adorable little shop. Yummmmm Back at home (before we moved) all of us going for ice cream; 4 cones cost $24!!!! It’s…

I am really surprised with myself. I use to be a binger; then I decided “I want to be one of those people that can eat anything.” Now I am. I use to be afraid of logging a breakfast over 300 calories because “Gosh forbid use too many calories early in the day!” Now my breakfast can be upwards of 600 calories and I don’t…

Lol no- I only took that maybe twice a week. I’ve been off anything but caffeine for two weeks. I mean realistically I’m eating at what will one day be the low end of maintenance calories- so it’s not too difficult; it’s just flipping the switch and putting as much flavor in every bite

It’s strange because I’ve been at a deficit losing for over a month, starting weight was roughly 176-178 depending on day that’s what I averaged and now I am between 168-170. I haven’t gone a day hungry, craving or anything. I do keep my protein very high between 130-180 and my calorie range has been around 1,900 give and…

If you have a Costco I bought the echelon bike; basically the peloton knockoff for $1,000. I do enjoy it as I use to be a cycle instructor however if I had the money and space I would like the precor elliptical too. I tend to only use the bike in 3rd position and unless you have the motivation to really USE it, a bike can…

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7z75kobrZfQ My girls and I do this one and incorporate it with a circuit like training; Whitney is one of my FAVS such a wonderful fit-spiration

Precor’s are AMAZING- my dad bought his probably 20 years ago and it still is in great condition granted it was around $4,000 then for the newer models now you’re looking at probably $6,000 but it will last you. Just keep the tracks clean of dust and particles. I prefer the ones where the handles don’t move so I can…

@AnnPT77 woweee thank you for your wealth of knowledge and thoughtful reply ! Yes goal is to hit at least 150 then I can play from there if I choose to lean out further : ) I like the “curvy fit girl” look vs real lean- I love to workout but enjoy my sweets and hubby’s cooking too. Appreciate you!
-
@AnnPT77 in 4 weeks I lost 6-9 pounds but that was “beginner loss” I’ve been inactive for a year in the “Covid cave”, but before that (Pre-Covid) was even more active then I am now- I decided I needed to take a more realistic relaxed approach this time around. I suppose it may just be a matter of tracking a few months and…

Right!?!? I looked at turkey bacon and thought “why in the world would I buy this?” Regular bacon is maybe 20-30 more calories and more protein, PLUS taste SO much better!!!
