I went ahead and got on to the tracker. Looking forward! Jenn

@makattack220 I appreciate your reflection about learning "a lot about what does and doesn't work for me now (vs my 20s)." I am in my 40s and I find that I just keep building upon my self knowledge here. I've done so much trial and error that I have narrowed things down a bit! It's been helpful.

Oh, @ashleycarole86! Yes, right! Here it is: 12/26: 56 minutes of step aerobics + 7910 steps That was a high step day for me; I usually do not get many steps in.

@jugar, I woud like to change my weigh-in day to Wednesday (rather than Friday). My weigh-in for this past Wednesday is 145.6. Thank you!

Wow! Such an inspirational journey! Well done.

Wow! What a journey! Welcome to MFP.

You're on an inspiring journey! Yes, MFP is changing and couldn't change fast enough for me. This app is antiquated and needs many updates.

A goal of mine is to drink enough water and increase meditation.

Husband wanted to do some kickboxing tonight. I had thought that today would be a rest day, and it mostly was...but I am glad I got in some exercise. Jenn

@jugar Friday is my day.

Thanks! Is it January yet!? I am ready to go! 🥳

I love this thread. Meditation is a wonderful tool to learn yourself and human-ness, too. I appreciate that I can just sit in my situation and learn to be compassionate as my mind may wander, I may feel uncomfortable, or other sensations. Just sit with it. Look at it at. Try not to judge it. It's golden.

I gained a lot of weight this year but I don't mind -- I know I can get to a more comfortable place with my body as I deal with the emotional aspects that this year brought. I am glad I have a stronger community around me at the end of 2021. 2022 looks like it's full of supportive people in my life...finally. I have to…

I will send you a request. Let's do this!

I use the free app currently, but have used the premium features before. Most of the battle of weight loss is found in the kitchen, as @springlering62 has said and as you know, yourself. When you eat for comfort, that makes the situation challenging because comfort needs to be placed elsewhere and that, in my experience,…

This is a great question, and I love reading through the responses here. For me, staying motivated is not something I could ever force with ideas like "just have stronger willpower." Motivation, I have found, is cyclical, it comes and goes and looks different at different times. Embracing the changing nature of motivation…

Welcome back. Being involved in the community aspect of MFP helps me, too. Please feel free to add me as a pal here. I am active and supportive, and connecting with others is important for me. Best of luck to you on your journey!

Hi, Lyndsay. I am also a gamer; recently, I have discovered that quitting gaming has been necessary for me to get my life back, as strange as that sounds. It has not been easy, as I have used gaming as an outlet to escape uncomfortable emotions in my daily life since 2005. Only in this past year have I noticed that I just…

I use Yak Trax, especially the ones with the ice option, as sometimes I do like to jog in the woods when I take my dog out for our usual walk. However, my jog is really just that: it's slow and controlled and careful. The hills here are icy and dangerous. Also, the snow is packed down and not fluffy, usually, because the…

@eggfreak I hear you that "Christmas is exhausting." This year, we all felt it here more than most years. I just take it as it comes! Jenn
-
@MandiSaysHey Looks good to me! Glad you got in some steps. Christmas and New Years are times of rest and introspection and celebration for me; so I don't count on too much from myself then, except to reap the joy that comes (and hopefully, some does). Cheers.

I just joined today! My name is Jenn. I am currently at the heaviest weight I have ever been, reaching into the overweight category. I love fitness and have been working out since I was 18 -- I am 41 now. I spent years as a body builder in my late 20s and early 30s. Now I live a sedentary lifestyle as an English professor.…

Movement that feels GOOD is wonderful! Good for you! May all find movement that feels good in their bodies...what a joyous occasion.

I am not a "runner," by any means, but I have definitely put in many miles running. I think that it's important to keep your knees fairly soft when running, especially for older women (like me). I sometimes would be too rigid in my knees and even ankles, so think about staying soft there. I also like to boost my spirit…

I love this! Good for you! Start where you are and work from there!
