I can relate to this. We have a similar situation. I realize that for me, the emotional eating has always been there. I have learned that I need to address this first before any change can happen. I am not sure about you, but for me emotional eating is a symptom of wanting to avoid or ignore difficult emotions and…

I began struggling with a panic disorder when my first child passed away. It was crippling for me for about 12 years, and just got worse -- I would start passing out, have aphasia, lose control of my body, lose my vision. It was debilitating. I found that for me, only one thing worked. When I stopped running from it, and…

You have a lot on your plate. Sometimes, we just can't expend anything more, and that is ok. When I was a single mom I would try to integrate more movement into my life while I was also doing the things that had to be done around the house or in my children's lives. It may have looked like walking around the gymnastics…

I hope that you can navigate these challenges and changes in your life. Becoming a mom was, for me, too, a drastic change in my life to which I had to respond with new tools. Give yourself some space for exploring your new self. Motherhood comes with a lot of sometimes unexpected changes, and the changes can keep coming…

One thing that I have come to realize on my own journey is that it has many ups and downs, and even cycles. That is part of the life experience. One of my goals these days is just to be able to move through those highs and lows with grace

I get these, too. I e been experimenting with what works. So far, cutting down on any processed sugar is what I am doing and I have not had a headache like this since -- it's been two months. Going to keep going with this and see if it helps. I did not eat much sugar to begin with, but the little I did eat may have been…

Amazing! What an accomplishment! I am glad that you celebrate these things. What a good feeling!

Wow! Inspiring! 😘

I have been in a space in which a two pound gain would make me feel down. I don't like being in that place. Celebrate your losses and gains with a balanced mind that honors your journey and includes compassion and love for yourself. That's my best advice. And when you can't quite get there, just honor that. We're human.…

I have had this my whole life, too. And I have been actively working on it since I was 18. I am now 42. I have learned that for me it is about allowing myself to feel uncomfortable feelings, sitting in them instead of using food to numb myself out. It's a process and it takes a lot of self compassion

For me, what I eat does matter because I can be triggered to eat more when my food is processed. I find that the quality of food makes a big difference in my journey because it affects how I feel

I just wanted to pop in to say that the stomach flu and all its side effects, including a pulled muscle in my low back (!), is finally moving out. I am hoping to be able to exercise tomorrow and rejoin my life again. Looking forward to catching up on everyone's news! Jenn

CW: 145 I gained this week due to overeating after I lost weight last week. This is why I avoid weighing myself: I self-sabotage when I see that I am losing weight. Oh well! I got in plenty of exercise. I am not going to avoid weighing in any longer; I am going to keep addressing my fears and triggers. Have a great week!…

Happy Tuesday! @ashleycarole86 I would be happy to share what I did to find friends as an introvert during the pandemic. As soon as the pandemic hit I organized a weekly zoom check-in for friends and people in the community. I posted the meeting on social media and asked people to share it with others who might be…

Oh, look at you! So inspiring!

I am an all-or-nothing person who has been working on addressing and exploring this dynamic for a very long time (decades). I always try to get to a place of moderation. It isn't easy, and I am assume that you are also this kind of person just based on your question. So, keep in mind your natural ways of thinking and…

No, I rarely get hit on and that is fantastic! I do not wish to get hit on at all.

I am an emotional eater so when I am sick I tend to want to eat in order to numb out how I feel. If you are also an emotional eater, then you may be driven by this as well.

Too late to post some of my responses to the weekly challenge last week, but I wanted to make them available if anyone wanted to read and respond: https://thehumanelectric.wordpress.com/2022/02/13/wellness-journal-2-13-2022/ Jenn

That is so important. My husband and I also do not always do gifts for Valentine’s Day. I…

@ashleycarole86 Dragging butt in the mornings in winter is OK! It’s cold out there, and dark, too! Give yourself some space to work with that…it’s just natural to be slower. I try to develop plans that recognize the natural ebbs and flows of the seasons so that I can still feel like I’m succeeding. It’s a must. @ashenmoon…

Metaphysicalstudio Day: Wednesday PW: 146 CW: 142.6 A big loss for me this morning. I will take it and run with it. I did not get much sleep last night but had a pretty decent morning and am ready to have a phenomenal day. Hoping the same for you all on this Hump day! @ashleycarole86 Seeing the scale go up can be a downer…

@DD265 Having some rest time is so important! I also think that stepping away from logging is a well-earned necessity sometimes, so try not to beat yourself up about that. You can easily step back into your routine when the time is right. @eggfreak You sound ready for this week! I find myself the opposite of motivated when…

@evmakeschanges I have found that affirmations, like the one that you offer here that helped you, really do make a difference. Framing emotional eating in a proactive way can have a huge effect on one’s success. Thank you for the reminder! @conleywoods I need to do extra fiber during my pre-menstruation time, as well. To…
