~ S.M.A.R.T. Goals - Set up on my blog. ~ WHY? There are many reasons I need to stay accountable for my health. 1. To ensure I don't gain back any more of the weight I have previously lost. 2. I'd like my cholesterol to be in the normal range. 3. It would be helpful to keep my bones and muscles strong. ~ EXERCISE? I have a…

@hicim705 - Thank you for all the valuable information! I love that you added the other links for the pre-challenge. As I age, I find it difficult to do a lot of the fitness routines I once did. My knees are so sore, even though I had shots to cushion them. Hills were terrible on my legs in the mountains. My plan for the…

Awe, so no airport lounge?

Hello! I'm Alley, For me, I need to start with WHY: I don't want to gain any more weight! Simple! Not! I need like minded people to interact with, learn strategies, and be mindful of my health. I've been on my journey since about 2010. I joined WW and lost 50lbs, then gained it all back. Then I joined Jenny Craig and lost…

Happy Labor Day! Getting ready to get out of dodge! @Dianedoessmiles1 - I have a regular 21 speed bike. It's old but good enough to ride flat land like here.
-
LOL @Kurtize ! I worked on my health and weight loss today. I rode my bicycle for 45 minutes then strength training for 35 minutes and 25 minute walk. Here's my ST workout. Click on the spoiler.

@Tabatha_Cain - I use MFP and Hackers online. Here's an article about calorie deficit below. Also, I've read your blog. Next time you visit your doc, ask about your calorie deficit. You obviously pay for that service? They should be making those things clear for you. Calorie deficit is a formula but different for all.…

Did you ever read a soup can nutrition label? Tons and way too many sodium grams! The soup I was about to eat has 640 mg in one cup! In my opinion, that's way to much. May as well make it from scratch and freeze some. So I did that.
-
Plan for my day is done, bicycle ride this morning was wonderfully cooler! I'm getting excited for my up coming trip! I can hardly wait! This morning my tracker gave me the message that I need to cut just 66 calories to have a weight loss this week. I'm wondering about that! @tabatha, that's great!
-
@p21usa - Awe, thank you for that catch! Yes, that's what I thought I said. You're right. I said it backwards! Does that count as dyslexia :D ? I like that a lot better!
-
@Dianedoessmiles1 - Thanks! It would be great to see what others have learned about nutrition labels. I'm in! We can post there and copy the info into our team chat too. <3 @Tabatha_Cain - by reading and understanding food labels, you'll be able to control your diet better. It's defiantly a good way to get our weight under…

Another thing I've learned about nutrition labels is the protein listing. I needed more protein while healing. Unfortunately, I was eating too many calories, by using this little trick it has helped me stay in my calorie range while getting enough protein. Just by adding a zero to the protein amount on the food label, if…

Good morning! Labels and what I learned: I looked up label reading again I remember back around 2016 or so there were no added sugars on the nutrition labels or very few, and now they are! That's wonderful news. I like that I am able to see what sugar additives are in what I'm eating. Sugar: There is now a percentage for…

@tabatha_cain, That's what this week challenge is all about, Learning How to Read a food label. I agree about the social aspect. Not in every post. You said I think that is something we need to teach people. It's not so much about teaching anyone, it's more about getting people to actually do something about their health.…

I love this weeks challenge about labels. There really should be more of this in our chats. I'm really becoming discouraged that our teams don't seem to chat more about our weekly challenges. Tell me, aren't you here to lose weight and learn how to keep it off? That's why I joined in the first place. Seems like a lot of…

Good morning!

@tabatha, glad you are doing well on a Monday.

I'm feeling good today but have two cold soars GRRR! I did get all my steps yesterday! Woohoo for that! I'm eating lots of veggies, I hope I can incorporate some broccoli and cauliflower soon. On chemo raw veggies and high gas producing veggies were not tolerable. Even now, some don't agree with me. The salads seem to be…

I'm feeling better today and had a dentist appointment. New owner! I loved my hygienist! She was great! Then went shopping I loaded up on veggies. Instead of buying a pre-made salad I bought a bunch of veggies for a salad. The fixins should last a while. I made a huge salad with tomatoes, cucs, spring mix, pepper,…

Good morning! I slept in again, my body really needed that today. I am fighting off a cold and at first thought it may be COVID, nope! Thankfully! I'm so happy we had a couple tests left. I just had one cold sore heal and woke up with another. Hopefully, with some rest I'll be as good as new. :) I was sure tempted to fight…

Yesterday, I sautéed a mass of veggies. Zucchini, onion, peppers, pre-cooked sweet potato, shiitake mushrooms, a little salsa and tomato with some olive oil. It was kind of mushy at the end, but still tasty. It made enough for at least 8 servings. Today I scrambled it up with a couple eggs and goat cheese to get a little…

Good morning! The sun is shinning and I'm starting my day a bit late. I haven't started my workout yes, but plan to soon! I'm watching the Olympic diving today. I'd like to find the synchronized swimming. No luck. They changed the name to Artistic swimming. I think that fits better. @Dianedoessmiles1 - Yes, it is. The ER?…
