What do you like to be called? Sable or Debra How did you learn about the 5% Challenges? I received an invite from a Sparkfriend and did my first challenge in the winter of 2012, I think. How many 5% Challenges have you completed? Don’t know. I sat out maybe two. What do you like to do for fun? I read voraciously. In…

Yes, I miss it too. It was the best way to keep up with Sparkfriends who aren’t on your 5% challenge team. What don’t these sites get about the power of interpersonal communication? I’ve been consumed all week with preparation for my nephew to start painting the house and do a few repairs. One end of my living room is…

Eeeek, my nephew comes on Wednesday to see exactly what needs doing with a view to starting next week on painting inside the house. I’ve started boxing up books and other stuff that’ll have to be moved. I’m getting in productive fitness minutes just making my house cleaner and ready for him. I have another thrift shop…

@aalley5 - Yes, it is! I ran across the book well into my cleaning. The author’s point, like mine, is not to leave behind a mess for others to deal with. It made some good motivation for my procrastinating husband too: 🥹🥹 Do we really want our girls to have to deal with ____? I would be amenable to senior living, but…

Happy Saturday! Two years ago, my husband and I did what we called the Great Cleanout; think Swedish Death Cleaning. Our nephew will be painting the interior of our house soon, so we’re doing Great Cleanout Round Two, and it’s going great. My harpsichord is now permanently at University of Tampa, my closet and drawers are…

@Dianedoessmiles1 So true; our last home was near a major highway, and our power always came back on ASAP. Here, not so much, but we have solar panels and a backup battery to run essentials like the coffee pot! @walkintofit Love the card you received. Someone gave me a boxed set of cards with that one in it. I still have…

@lavalily Good to hear from you. I hope travel is possible; I’d love to see you again. Hope everyone is OK after all the bad weather. It’s been beautiful here; we get our scary weather during hurricane season. I’ve been a bit under the weather after a skin peel procedure. I had no idea it would make me so tired. I left the…

I’ve never found a way to post pics on the newsfeed or anywhere else from my iPad. I think I heard once that you have to download your pics elsewhere and then fiddle with it. I need something simple if anyone has suggestions.

@cory17 Good one. We spent a bundle on travels last year, but figured we should do it while we’re able. I visited D2 in Colorado and stayed at the Mother Cabrini Shrine (has anyone seen the movie?), visited friends in Great Britain (New Forest) and Norway on a Cunard Queen Victoria cruise with D1, and husband and his older…

Oh ugh, I hear a peacock, much too close. Yes, they’re beautiful, but as noisy as guineas, as dirty as ducks, and will scratch your car’s paint. Peacock, go home! @Dianedoessmiles1 Love your kitty pics. I wish I could post pics from my iPad. What does MFP have against iPads?? If I could, I’d post one of little Eve and her…

I’ve tracked my breakfast, kept it light knowing there’ll be a splendid picnic buffet at the memorial service/St Patrick’s Day party I’m going to this afternoon. I’m wondering how the large family will handle the no alcohol rule for county parks. I managed to French braid my hair, haven’t done that for awhile. I’m wearing…

@Dianedoessmiles1 and @CateAussie: I think the sugar free wine at Aldi’s is quite good, and I’d say it’s a medium red, not too dry, not too sweet. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried it. My friend who likes only sweet wines adds Splenda to hers. 😬 Aldi’s also has fabulous eggnog wine around American Thanksgiving in…

For those interested, Aldi’s carries a very nice sugar free wine. The winter challenge was a washout for me. My motivation went into hibernation, and I lost nothing. Must shake up my routine next round.

How many 5% Challenges have you done? Most of them since 2011? What do you like to do for fun? I’ve been a read-aholic ever since I learned how. What major city do you live in or near? State? Florida, Tampa Bay area. One of the things I like about where I live are the plethora of nice parks. What are your health/fitness…

Goals: PT consistency + 2 NEE tiny goals I choose not to overwhelm myself with too many goals or long term goals. I do best in small doable increments with tangible results. I reached a tiny goal today. 👏🏼

Pre-Challenge Activity #1: INFORMATION and YOUR INPUT Ditto, likewise Lessennan. My biggest challenge is consistency.

Walk, stationary bike, pool, PT for neck, seated workouts. I have lots of tools; just need to USE them

I plan to concentrate on fruits and vegetables, especially veggies. I do like most of them, and I want to try more healthy recipes from the three new to me cookbooks I bought. I did try one for sautéed radishes that tasted pretty good, but I don’t think it was very healthy.

Keep up new habit of mall walking when it’s too hot to walk anywhere else. Make the challenge goal this round. Proud of myself today: I ate well at a potluck.

My exercise tends to lag over the summer; it’s just too hot here in Florida. I’ve recently discovered mall walking. I have a Sparkfriend in South Florida who goes all the time who inspired me. I never shop there so it hadn’t crossed my mind. Question: can someone explain in simple terms the easiest way to post pics on MFP?
