  • But all-dressed redeems us, no? Not to be overly political - but the Gaza strip solution, my goodness!! ๐Ÿคช 'Oh Canada' is super simple Yooly, you'd have it down pat in no time. ๐Ÿ˜†
  • Love Staghorn ferns, too bad I don't live closer and could take one off your hands ๐Ÿ˜‡. I too have a lot of houseplants, at least 25 - every window on the main floor is lined with them - only one is a duplicate offspring, Chinese Money plant. But some are different varieties, like dark green + variegated Rubber plant, 2โ€ฆ
  • My goodness, the tiny plant let is a mere speck, you do well to keep track of it! Do you think they naturally propagate by breaking off and blowing in the wind?
  • I lost 4 lbs for my first week of BodySlims round 2, surprised (and delighted ๐Ÿ˜‰) it was that much as I was still using the program principles since last round ended (Dec 4). I am on ๐Ÿ”ฅ!
  • @CathyOleary, welcome ๐Ÿ˜Š Maintenance is soooo important, once I am done with weightloss this time around I never, ever want to be out of normal BMI again!! I'm with you, I think logging and monitoring food intake will be key to long term success (as well as maybe weekly weighing on the scale and how your clothes fit), thenโ€ฆ
  • @springlering62 Oh dear! How awful re xanthan. I love serrated grapefruit spoons so much I bought a set for my daughter's house ๐Ÿ˜„ - they're great for hulling strawberries too.
  • I did that at 50 lbs...put 5 bags of potatoes into a cart! Could not imagine 'carting' that around 24/7 haha! I now think in 5 gallon water jugs (the kind that sit on water coolers) - 84 lbs will be jug#2! Thanks everyone for the congrats ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿฅฐ, and know I am pressing on.
  • Ya canny make haggis lad! Need to be a butcher lol. Sometimes Save-On Foods or Safeway has it at this time of year, otherwise have to go to a British shop. Traditional is shaped like a small football and either boiled or heated in the oven. It's called a pudding, but it's more like a sausage (or stuffing). You can seeโ€ฆ
  • Happy Robbie Burns day to the true Scots and the diaspora! I will be fitting haggis into my calorie allotment ๐Ÿฅฐ and singing songs ๐ŸŽถ

  • Lol, we have not had any snow whatsoever here ๐Ÿ˜… glad the roads were good for you.
  • I am absolutely thrilled to announce, as of today's weigh-in, I am down 75 lbs since joining MFP August 2021!!! ๐ŸŽ† I lost almost 50 in the first year, but then spent 18 months up & down, slowly losing ground...๐Ÿ˜ But in 2024 I was the comeback kid ๐Ÿ˜ƒ and now I am on ๐Ÿ”ฅ for 2025! ๐Ÿคฉ

  • Well, our mild winter is having a little deep freeze for a week or so, sunny days but cold nights, with the temperature dipping below freezing for several days in a row - so I took pity on the Gerberas and moved them into the garage, and wrapped a tea towel around the aloe vera! When the cold lifts, I'll see how everyoneโ€ฆ
  • Interesting, last Spring when I went for an eye exam and new glasses, the optometrist referred me to an ophthalmologist as he saw signs of cataract. My impression was early stages, maybe something to be monitored. That referral happened end of October and to my surprise she took one quick look and announced I had cataractsโ€ฆ
  • As I mentioned, weather here is cold but not very cold - very few nights have slipped below freezing and not in a row - so many plants that should be dead are still limping along, particularly if they are in a sheltered location. Here is an Aloe Vera on my deck And a Gerbera Daisy!
  • Yup, really thick fog around all day yesterday, seems to have lifted up now. Nice to see the sky! January is our most wintery month, it can persist until March but most years over by mid to late Feb - when we had the Olympics here in 2010 the cherry trees were in blossom and they had to truck in snow...๐Ÿ™„
  • My goodness Yooly, that doesn't look much different than my weather (and Pav's), just less sun ๐Ÿ˜… We have had very few nights go below freezing this year, many seasonal plants, especially in sheltered locations, are still struggling along.
  • Oh my goodness, snow shovelling is such a workout! Good for you. It's good to be outdoors too. Our winter weather has been dreary but above seasonal norms for temperature. We've had very little frost or below freezing nights - only a couple of scattered days. There are still have many 'seasonal' plants alive, looking muchโ€ฆ
  • Marmalade has to be one of the cutest of bunnies though! So glad you got through this PTSD test episode and feeling better already. Very tough mentally. But we know you're tough - and resilient! โค๏ธ Starting off the year on the right foot, eating tamed back down into submission (but still a few leftover indulgences I'mโ€ฆ
  • Starting off the year on the right foot, eating tamed back down into submission (but still a few leftover indulgences I'm fitting in - very few though, I have mostly purged!), and daily activity reinstated. Must remove the decor though still - next week! I babysat 4 days last week, full days since school on break andโ€ฆ
  • I would watch International House Hunters with you! That's so funny. Similar to You Are Here, I read a wierdo book in my awakening years with the mantra Be Here Now, and it has always stuck with me. It was written by Richard Alpert who had been a colleague of Timothy Leary's and was now called Baba Ram Dass!
  • Personally, I would not 'redo' under any circumstances. I would however gladly embrace a reverse-aged body with which to go forward with, especially knowing what I do now about maintaining it! ๐Ÿ˜˜ Happy new year everyone, 2025 has begun! Cheers ๐Ÿป I turn 65 this year, and my health (mental & physical) has improved much sinceโ€ฆ
  • Happy Hogmanay ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜Š
  • I regularly have cottage cheese with bacon bits (homemade, chunky not crumbs) and grape tomatoes halved, sprinkle with salt & pepper. Yum, low cal, high protein and filling! If I have cucumber in, will add some of that too. I will also mix some into scrambled eggs/omelettes while cooking. I've added it to wraps but myโ€ฆ
  • @lauriekallis - your windows are da bomb ๐Ÿ’ฃ, what a wonderful community tradition!
  • Fantastic news @AnnPT77, and how nice the orchids are putting on a show for you! @springlering62 - when you sum it all up, you have really been through the wringer! I echo your sentiments, no more of that for 2025!! I'll have to keep in mind your 'life straw' tip for future travel, did not know about that. Merry tis theโ€ฆ
  • One more sleep! ๐Ÿ˜ด ๐ŸŽ… Merry Christmas everyone โค๏ธ
  • Of course not...but there are many traditions that centre around food and drink that are special to this season and I wouldn't want anyone to beat themselves up if they don't deprive themselves of those traditions. By all means partake, all the while trying to be at least a little discriminating, and as OP mentioned inโ€ฆ
  • Bump for the season of feasting lol! Good reminder that you can't undo all your progress with one or 2 days of indulging, and that the scale WILL most likely jump, but as long as you return to normal levels of eating - it will also return to where you started, or darn close. Cheers! And Merry Christmas ๐ŸŽ…
