I won't be such a stranger come the new year - not spending much time on line this side of NYE as MIL's house goes on the market on Thursday, but come Jan 1st I should have a little more free time.

Nah - it’s all about the presentation! A little paper and sparkly bows make anything look good.

One of the gifts I got included an AWESOME home made dark black dark (did I mention dark) rye bread. The first 100g of bread testing were NOT part of today's plan! So what did I put on it? Butter? Cheese? Honey? Meats? -- NOTHING -- that sucker was awesomely good AS IS.

    Merry Christmas :)

Is that the very moist very thinly sliced dark pumperninkel, PAV?

Looked like it ALMOST could be from the outside but it was not. It was a dark SOURDOUGH bread. The outside (which surprised me because normally sourdough is scored) had the type of "hard skin" the breads you're thinking about would have had, Laurie. But the inside was a less dense but still quite moist dark rye sourdough.

    That sounds pretty delicious!

Not only was today our Christmas dinner it was also my “Advent window” day.

It’s a little Instagram thing in our community. You can pick a day In December and on that day you decorate your front window For Christmas . Pictures are posted on the Instagram page and the address and you can go for a walk and see all the different advent windows!

This year I went with a Muttcracker theme I painted my toy soldier pups on core Plast and tied them to the bars on my front windows. They were almost as cool as the tiramisu we had for dessert today 😁

Such a lovely tradition Laurie! Your muttcrackers are definitely worthy of a neighborhood viewing and copywriting. Have you considered contacting a greeting card company to do a line of muttcracker cards? Plenty of doggie lovers out there.

Hmmm…interesting! Much easier than large scale figures on corplast! That must be cut out, tortuously, with a utility knife!

For sure. There’s definitely a market for your idea! Dogs Cats - think of all the profit Charles Schultz made from Snoopy. And that dog is nekkid! Canadian Mountie dogs? Skiing/surfing dogs? Hockey dogs?

If you do consider marketing make sure every drawing has a copyright ©️ symbol on it. And documentation of some kind (date stamped photos). I’ve done some work with intellectual property lawyers and copyright law.

Had my post-op with the surgeon this morning. I got an A+! He thinks my oncology follow up will be fairly minimal. Woohoo 🎉.

I am working tonight, not in my regular department, which had no overnight patients, but in my old department, which *kitten* up and didn't have anyone scheduled for tonight and because we have the same overarching manager, here I am. And I've had a headache since I woke up this afternoon and Tylenol doesn't touch it and I can't take Advil. Just feeling whiney and puny.

This is such wonderful news, Yooly! Hope the oncologist seconds the minimal follow up.

Thank you all for the good doggie reviews :) I am very amused by them - though I am getting a bit tired of listening to Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker March that I have playing outside for hours on end in the evenings :) maybe just one more night and then that will stop. HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone <3
