We use brine on the wet coast too!🤯 Sort of like basting the turkeys!🤯 I think i prefer sand tbh unless the brine is sufficient to keep it totally melted🤷♂️1
-
Well sand is tricky on high overpasses and even flat roads. If it is a lot of sand it’s slippery when it’s dry. Takes the street sweepers a long time to clean it all up.
The roads were fine - dry for the most part. Radiation went fairly fast although being immobile for 10 minutes ain’t easy. I have only 4 more sessions and then we discuss the chemical treatments.1 -
Good to see you, Yooly. You have a lot going on there! Radiation and snow. Hope your skin handles the radiation well and you sail through like this visiting snowstorm!2
-
I am absolutely thrilled to announce, as of today's weigh-in, I am down 75 lbs since joining MFP August 2021!!! 🎆
I lost almost 50 in the first year, but then spent 18 months up & down, slowly losing ground...😐
But in 2024 I was the comeback kid 😃 and now I am on 🔥 for 2025! 🤩4 -
Lol, we have not had any snow whatsoever here 😅 glad the roads were good for you.2
-
I saw some salty frosting! 🧐
And: well done 👍 your awesomeness! 😎2 -
Woohoo! You are an inspiration, BC Ladybug Congratulations.

So how's Texas, AB living down south, Ontario, BC, and she who occasionally peak-a-boo's from the UK? And let's not forget to check in on the dark and mysterious, occasionally popping in stranger hailing from the Mediterranean island of "good beef"!😘😎
I admit that for some reason listening about Greebo the cat (Pratchett) brought to mind Garfield.... in spite of some obvious inconsistencies!!!!🤔🤯0 -
Good on you BC! I’m wildly jealous. I can’t seem to get my *kitten* together lately. Got so much going on. ☢️2
-
Yooly! Just be nice to yourself and put away the cookies. Don't worry about losing.... just aim for even Steven..... maybe even Steven less 1-200 just in case you forget something but don't try for drastic when everything else is going on! But don't lift your paws in the air either! That doesn't work!2

Happy Robbie Burns day to the true Scots and the diaspora! I will be fitting haggis into my calorie allotment 🥰 and singing songs 🎶3
-
Did you make the haggis? Or where did you get it from?0
-
Ya canny make haggis lad! Need to be a butcher lol. Sometimes Save-On Foods or Safeway has it at this time of year, otherwise have to go to a British shop.
Traditional is shaped like a small football and either boiled or heated in the oven. It's called a pudding, but it's more like a sausage (or stuffing). You can see rounds now to buy and fry up for breakfast, like black pudding (also not dessert pudding lol).
I'm off to the pub for a Burns Night celebration and will get my haggis there 😋3 -
I heard of haggis but never had any. What’s in it? It seems to be in the same category as many ethnic foods. Either you love it or detest it.1
-
Inside guts of animals! 🤯 A bit fascinated (like watching a cobra fascinated) because of Greek μαγειρίτσα! 😎 (which is a soup using similar ingredients as far as I know!)2
-
Magiritsa! Yup 👍. Seems every ethnic group finds a way to use up those pesky animal bits - kishka, boudain, goetta, head cheese, barbacoa, pickled pig ears and snouts…. Tried a few but not a fan.1
-
Glad I only have to worry about the roots and stems
Sending you strength and energy, Yooly. If I send mine to you it excused me to do silly things at the grocery store2 -
Belated Happy Robbie Burns Day to you, BC Ladybug!3

Tomorrow is the last radiation day. We discuss possible chemo treatments and hormone therapy. I’m hoping there’s a quickie version!2
-
That was very very quick? Somehow I was expecting this to have been more spread out in time. How are you? How is hubby? 🤷♂️0
-
Glad you are just about through, Yooly. How is your skin holding up?0
-
It’s only 5 radiation sessions so no big deal. Just a little fatigue. Hubby isn’t getting the pacemaker after all. The cardiologist recommended getting a home monitor ($70 on Amazon) to record and send in any unusual episodes. He doesn’t have them often so hard to capture at the doctors office where everything is fine.2
-
Great news on the hubby front, Yooly!1
-
Hubby is good. I’m going to get 4 chemos over the next three months. Then five years of hormones. All because I’m a healthy old lady with a decent life expectancy to make it worthwhile. I’ll miss my hair though……
2 -
Good for you and your bravery, Yooly! I wasn't willing to face the hormones. For me the difference for reoccurence was very small - and I already have enough problems with my joints. I hope the hormone blocker doesn't give you any trouble! And the chemo is gentle with you.
Will we see a wild and crazy wig or two in your future?2 -
It's so freakin' hot where you live - but - you would look mighty cute.
Sending you hugs.2 -
Nope - no wigs. It’s only three hairless months or so. My hair has always been very short. I’m going with some colorful turbans or scarves. It’ll be in the 90s by April anyway. Hair will return soon enough.2
-
So you'll have the "cool for the summer" setup a bit ahead of time 🧐🤔 hopefully the 1+2+3+4 punch will exterminate all the meanies!!!!2
