  • On the other hand, I can sit so still my Fitbit might record it as sleep lol! In my family, fidgeters and jigglers were reprimanded and told to STOP...not that this was a problem for me, but my ex-husband, whom I met as a teenager, was always dadding his leg or bouncing his foot. He had ADHD and was (and still is) quite…
  • My goodness @SbetaK, that is one skinny bear!!
  • I too am a premium member that did not see much value in the premium membership benefits, but I truly felt that I wanted to support the site, as I valued it. My MFP community is important to me. I belong to 2 groups, am a leader on one, but the Newsfeed is something different altogether - friends I have made from all…
  • Hello, I am fighting a cold virus, achy & congested, plus our weather has taken a turn into cool & rainy, so my 'daily' activity habit has floundered (again!) alas. Scale however is slowly, slowly drifting down - so that's a positive. My food planning is still going strong with occasional stumbles. Keep on keeping on folks!
  • @springlering62 , thanks for the heads up, I just took a screenshot of my friends list.
  • The Newsfeed is a great option for reaching out or following friends that may or may not post on the threads you do in Community, or belong to the same groups. You also don't need to go into Community to use. I shall definitely miss it!! Retirement of this feature began May 20th and completes end of June. Be sure to say…
  • As a a protest to get corporate attention, everyone is being asked to NOT LOG ONTO MFP tomorrow, May 27th. If enough of us stay off, it will definitely reach the PTB. Yes, this means you will lose your streak- but you will lose your streak anyway, or it becomes basically meaningless, as these features are retired.
  • @Betty - current situation is my 'friends' see my Newsfeed...their 'friends' see their Newsfeed...they see their friends Newsfeeds, but I do not - we do not have identical friend lists, so private groups DON'T WORK! We would each in theory need to create our own curated group, plus join the group of every one of our…
  • Welcome back @g2renew, you can do this, we are all in it for the long haul.
  • If you are wearing the Fitbit while you exercise on the elliptical, it is counting the activity even if not the steps, so no need to add it manually into MFP.
  • Hello peeps! I am working hard with my personal plan, hitting all the bases I know: - not just logging food, pre-logging food! (which is not my thing) - aiming for a water target - staying with a calorie deficit 12/14 days, then having 2 days at maintenance to mix things up & satisfy any deprivation I may be trying to…
  • @AnnPT77 - you truly are brilliant, and earn the PT in your name!
  • Definitely got a chuckle out of this one - thanks Yooly!
  • Hi, your energy and capacity sounds good to me, but that's compared to me lol, and since you are noticing a decline, you probably should get it checked out. Sometimes heart issues show up this way (not to scare you, just saying). However if you are comparing your performance to some time in the past and trying to ramp up…
  • @AnnPT77 - on another thread in the debate section you posted some fascinating family history and I just wanted to comment on how valuable it can be to have older parents, as we know stuff more directly about earlier times, thanks for sharing! And also to remind you just how much of an incredible blessing your birth had to…
  • Wait, jackets are supposed to do up?? 😁
  • My mother always referred to Value Village as VV Boutique. She was a sucker for little dolls and stuffies. She felt sorry for them being homeless...thankfully she was not a hoarder so had to be a bit choosy with what she brought home 🥰 Ah yes, still brisk coolish weather here! I genuinely don't think I would survive Texas.…
  • I love how you put that! You're doing great! And welcome 🌻
  • Hi, I tried Ozempic for about 6 months in 2023 and didn't lose any weight - did stay the same, so counting that as a positive. My Dr prescribed Mounjaro 3 months ago, but it hasn't come in to the pharmacy yet - and until it's supply is reliable I would not want to start - but I am eager to try it. Activity: I have been…
  • Well, with all the info you provided, it's easy to make specific recommendations for you (not!). But here you go! Breakfast: poached eggs on mashed avocado over multigrain toast/crispbread Or Overnight oats with chia seeds, 1/2 cup milk Or Smoothie made with ice, Greek yogurt, protein powder, 1/2 banana, 1 cup berries,…
  • It is a beautiful warm day where I am, sitting out on my front porch contemplating my dead roses... FYI - my 10 day personal challenge is going great, I'm at my lowest weight in months and heading lower! My sleep schedule is much improved, my activity has increased, and I'm feeling more in control. I'm off to Bingo shortly…
  • AnnPT77- once I had an older car that due to primarily cosmetic damage was determined a 'total loss' by the insurance company. They paid me out my claim and allowed me to buy it back for 'salvage' price, then I went about getting it fixed myself with the $$ they had paid me. It was worth it to me as I had bought the car…
  • I eat what I want to be, well-rounded but correctly portioned😆
  • Hello peeps - happy Sunday! Having a very relaxing day myself, just sitting out on the front porch with my tea and surveying the havoc last winter imposed upon my.plants. One of my large rose bushes shows no signs of life, yet the one next to it is growing like gangbusters! the third rose over also may have died, but at…
  • "The mechanics of weight loss are really simple. I eat less than I burn. Managing myself is where I failed..." So true! Reading this just now helped me to get myself upstairs to go to bed when hunger was trying to convince me otherwise. I have hundreds of thousands of stored calories at my disposal, by all rights I should…
  • Absolutely you can have oil & vinegar, or dressing, but you have to measure carefully & account for the calories. There are some light dressings out there that are pretty good, and lemon juice or vinegar on their own are options too.
  • Nothing new to add, but my oh my does a big bowl of salad ever satisfy! And all winter, bowls of chili and soup.
