  • Ah PAV, I see said the blind man as he peed on the roses!
  • Is soggy not used in the States?? Basically means wet, as in penetratively! Here on the 'wet' coast of Canada we understand soggy lol 😆
  • Hey 👋 hope everyone survived Easter with fond memories and not too many lbs lol... My chocolate is gone, 2 more Hot Cross Buns to go and that just leaves some ham, and ham is not a problem lol. I am down like .5 today, week over week, so feeling good about making some real progress...soon... Is it Spring yet where you are…

  • Hello, hello. So hard maintaining when your goal is losing!! And yet maintaining is soooo much better than the alternative. Perhaps your body just needs a rest from deficits? I haven't read all the responses, mind you, and I do realize I am late to the party! I mostly just wanted to track you down, to say well done as you…
  • Thank you @MargaretYakoda for the tip - I have subscribed to their YouTube channel! Looking forward to touring both places I have visited in the past + places I have yet to see. I have a treadmill, but you could easily march in place also.
  • Love the Leslie Sansone videos, she is so incredibly encouraging! And the Fitbit prompt is a great tool. I could never walk in place while crafting, that is very coordinated of you. 👏
  • Happy Easter everyone! Enjoy the chocolate, in whatever measure you decide, just stick to your decision, ok? 😘
  • Do the Beatles 🎵 play in your head like they do in mine, since I turned 64?? It's my theme song for this year lol 😂
  • Welcome back, and welcome to the 60 & up thread! Especially when you have a significant amount of weight to lose, it's important to play the long game, and to stay in the game. You can do this!! But it may take longer than we wish it would...just work on establishing good habits, one at a time, to take you there as…
  • @MargaretYakoda, I feel tired just hearing about your day - thank goodness you didn't have to drive, and got so much accomplished. Glad to hear your back is much improved. 👍🏻 Love the pics!
  • I think that you still can eat a healthful diet, and don't have to go to an extreme deficit. By most accounts, the medications help with slowing digestion and helping with appetite and possibly cravings, but you still take them alongside watching what you eat and trying to be active. No different than now, just easier to…
  • Obesity definitely contributes to other diseases, but that doesn't mean Obesity itself can't be one too. And it's not just the AMA that recognized it as a a disease (not sure what you have against the AMA), it is also the world health organization as well as several other countries. I know where you are coming from though,…
  • . Agreed, I failed to see the "straw man" aspect of the reply quoted too and understand the definition.
  • I myself had not really understood that Obesity itself was considered a disease (not every person that is overweight necessarily has the disease). I think our whole society was skeptical? So we blew it off?? Oprah said during the special - I didn't get the memo, or words to that effect lol. It was 2013 when the AMA voted…
  • I wonder if we, as a community, believe that Obesity is a disease?
  • I believe the "blame" part in the title refers to people failing to lose weight & becoming obese (they have themselves to blame) and the "shame" part in the title refers to people being successful with the use of medication (taking the easy way out). The 'revolution' may be the change in thinking of obesity being a disease…
  • It's true, we do have good water out here 😜 Thanks pals 😊 but in all transparency the 👿 ⚖️ took me back up out of the new decade this morning...as it was through no fault of my own (was riding on a high yesterday, ate well and got in activity) I shall rise above its shenanigans and await tomorrow's pronouncement. Serenity…
  • Clearly you didn't watch. And it was referring to those with the disease of Obesity. I think we've all seen Oprah do as you suggest and yet still battle her weight with all the nutritional support and physical/lifestyle coaching that money can buy. I think we can all agree the conventional wisdom is simple, it's the…
  • Today the scale was my friend and took me back down into a new decade. I say new, but of course I passed it on the way up, at least twice... I am .2 shy of my 2023 starting weight...last year was a struggle! But I'm still standing - yeah, yeah, yeah 🎶
  • I personally think it is quite amusing to believe that all of our calorie calculations used to determine our goal, and all of our diary entries are so accurate, that 20 calories is make or break...eat the protein.
  • I discovered this, or very similar, using a dry salami, like Cervelat or Genoa, and nuking slices in the microwave! High in calories though, but gives you protein at least and so delish. I nuked little heaps of cheese too to make cheese chips. Ate them with celery or apple slices to kind of balance out my crunch fest lol.
  • I have been experiencing long loading times, and giving up - going out & back in to try again - but fortunately not mid post! Here is a screenshot of error I just got a couple of minutes ago.
  • My goodness, I forgot I had joined this group...Bella's post popped up for me and I had to figure out what general discussion this was... I guess this is where I met you PAV, Yooly and Laurie, so good thing! ❤️ I have threads that I follow & participate in, like '60 years and up', but the 'lose 1lb a week' group is my…
  • @MargaretYakoda, I love the name Doodlebug! Sorry for your loss. And thanks for the reminder that we never know what others may be going through and to be kind. I wish you strength and peace. Basically the Serenity Prayer for both of you.
  • Well done!! My goodness, that is great! Weren't you bedridden originally from your back? What an inspiration, please do keep us posted. 😊 I used to do macrame, forgot all about it - plant hangers, wall hangings, small hanging tables...sold some, bartered some...probably still have some supplies kicking around from the 70s…
  • This is my fear! I love swings lol, but don't really fit...
  • Yooly, imo (as a fat person still in need of losing the 100 lbs, mind you) it is NOT worth agonizing over the 10 lbs, unless it means you are uncomfortable in your clothes, etc. Otherwise it is just a number in the scale that is still within range, but on the higher side granted. You've had a tough year. You are exhausted.…
  • Hey hey, you didn't extinguish us yet! 😘 Can you post a picture? Would love to see this! And maybe plant some! I find snapdragons to be really hardy on my deck. Weird weather here too - lovely and warming, then blast of icy cold for a day or 2 - my plants don't know what to make of it! I was in Mexico for 10 days or so…
  • Hey all, I had replied to Bella in the other group thread but neglected to here. I find you all to be very mature in your journeys and are very encouraging even when struggling, if that makes sense. For what it's worth, here is my reply: "@Bella_Figura, thank you for your thought provoking post and letting us know what…
