  • Join your local parkrun or running groups! Seriously, getting involved locally you'll find that you are able to get advice, make new friends and push yourself further. I struggled for years running solo, wasn't until I started going to Parkrun that I was able to progress thanks to the amazing community.
  • Best advice I could give you is ditch couch to 5k and join your local Parkrun or running group. I tried couch to 5k so many times and failed, wasn't until I went to Parkrun that I was able to finish a 5k, before you know it you'll be joining 10k races.
  • What a transformation! Keep it up buddy. I've recently lost a similar amount of weight and it's such a nice feeling to find your clothes are too loose rather than too tight. I went to put my work trousers on the other day and was shocked when they fell down to my ankles haha!
  • Running is relatively new to me, I have tried couch to 5k in the past but always struggled to stick to it. My friend finally convinced me to try parkrun and for the first time ever, I was able to finish a 5k run! I've since done about 6 or 7 parkrun events. I'm not sure if it's just that I have jumped straight into doing…
  • Thanks everyone, very helpful advice. I think I'll book in with my GP first and take it from there. I'd hate to make anything worse or beyond repair.
  • What is your plan? I found this last month that it helped to have a goal in mind, mine was to lose 1 stone by the end of September, I was just 2lb shy of that goal, but it helped motivate me towards it. My next goal is another stone by end of October. I've also found that joining my local parkrun has really helped, the…
  • Do you have a local parkrun? I've recently joined my local one, and it has made an incredible difference to my weight loss and fitness. For me, sticking loosely to a 1,500 calorie goal and going to the gym each morning has helped me lose a stone in just a month. Parkrun really helped though, feeling a big difference since…
  • Nice one, keep it up man! I've been struggling for years with my weight, finally found a gym that is really working for me and with my new work schedule I'm able to go each morning, alternating between weights and cardio while sticking to a 1,500 calorie goal each day. Set my goal of losing 1 stone in September, I'm 12lb…
  • I set myself the goal of losing 1 stone this month, start of September I was 241lb, currently around 231lb. Just about two weeks left, feeling good about it! Going to the gym daily and doing parkrun each Saturday has really helped me.
  • Completing my first 5K! I have struggled for years, tried couch to 5k but never reached the end, thankfully my friends finally convinced me to do Parkrun, it was the push I needed to cross the finish line, now I'm in love with it and beating my personal best each time. Still a long way to go on my journey, but it's…
  • Are you taking part in a parkrun? I'm finding doing my local parkrun every Saturday is helping me, really enjoying trying to beat my personal best each time, burns tonnes of calories and the community is great! Just this last weekend, I burnt 1,600 calories by doing the Parkrun followed by a day out walking with my…
