Just joined for the start of the December 2023 challenge. Iโve had a rough year so far with little space for myself and my weight has suffered. Iโm hoping a new challenge team will motivate me to try harder to take care of myself and lose my excess baggage.

Iโm on home prepared dinners for a few weeks as I finally get to grips with the stock in my freezer. Iโve already got grab and go chicken stir fry for 6 meals and sweet and sour chicken for 4, and cooked mince for 3. Wednesday and Saturday are always fish because I get it fresh from the fishmonger who calls in the street.โฆ

Sometimes I just have to give myself a good talking to. Today could have been a binge on empty calories kind of evening. The shawl Iโve been knitting needed sewn up. Iโm always terrified of this bit because itโs fiddly but for me it must be just right. Kept putting it off but the mum to be is coming to collect it a weekโฆ

This topic caught my attention because Iโm a comfort eater. I start with a plan for the day, get it spot on most days till evening time then whether bored, overtired, stressed or anxious I hit the sweeties, quarter pound packs and eat mindlessly till theyโre all gone. @cmoak54 please set realistic targets. Way back when I tried to do at least the maximum allowable exercise minutes, complete health challenges fully and pare my calories to the minimum calories for my build and eliminate sweets and cakes. All it did was make me frustrated, stressed and guess what. I ate my planned foodโฆ

My exercise plan now goes like this Tuesday Iโm calling my day off from anything household related. Iโm taking myself out every Tuesday the weather isnโt too inclement and taking the bus to my latest starting point on the Fife coastal path and walking 4 or 5 miles just for me. Me time, relaxation, exercise, peace with justโฆ

My thoughts now are no longer which diet plan should I try this time. This time itโs what personal plan can I organise within my calorie limits that I can live with long term. I donโt eat out very often and I donโt eat much processed foods but Iโm not going to ban anything in moderation. This is for life not just till Iโฆ
