Carrying on from my last post, I've managed to drop 6 stone/84lbs/38kg now and found this old picture of me from 2019 that I just had to compare to the photo I took yesterday when I was finally able to buy a tuxedo

The first poster must have searched this and boosted it to the recent threads.

I can't speak for your personal situation, but if you can lose weight without surgery then you shouldn't even consider it. My mother had a gastric sleeve, did well then after a year put even more weight back on. She's finally doing weight loss the right way and is slowly coming back down, but it's taken years for me to…

Such a good thread, people just boosting others for their achievements.

70lbs down in six months. I've got about 50lbs more to go, but I was very happy with how crazy this comparison looks

Great job man, keep it up!
-
Congrats! Just remember that this all you and your hard work that got you here :) Best of luck for the rest of your goal!

Great stuff, bet you're glad you put that genie back in the bottle before it became a major problem :)

Honestly it's the best system out there, but don't expect it to do the work for you, you only get out what you put in. You have to be consistently logging long term under your calories to see the results, if you "cheat" then you're only cheating yourself. I lost 70lbs back in 2014 then another 90lbs in 2022 (I fell off the…

It works if you are committed to it. I lost 74lbs the first time and 90lbs the second time (I fell off the wagon due to my binge eating disorder), but the whole time I was committed to the app it served me great.

Danke mein freund

Haha thanks, I'm actually 263 in the second picture! I seem to be very dense so hold the weight well :D

That's really interesting way to put the plateaus, it feels really demotivating when you're putting the work in and nothing is changing, but good that it is serving some purpose. Thank you for the kind words and same to you!

Lovely to hear people are feeling better in themselves. I'm currently 38kg down and my two main improvements have been: - No longer being out of breath walking room to room (blamed that on long covid to avoid facing facts that I was 150lbs overweight) - Not having what felt like burning napalm in my throat every night from…

Like a whole new man!

So what I'd say is don't be overly concerned with macros right now. Log in to MFP on your laptop and click "Goals" then "View Guided Setup". There you can put in your information and it'll give you a realistic calorie goal to stay under each day. I would recommend setting your weight loss goal as 0.5lb or 1lb per week…

Thanks :) I've found the best value ones are the Gourmia ones that CostCo sell if that's available to you

That's so amazing. It's such a huge step to get going when you are of that kind of size, so you've done amazingly already. I hope you are already feeling the benefit of what you've accomplished because it'll only get better from here, everything in your life will improve as you go!

Thanks very much :) Honestly, my way of eating is to generally be clean, but have stuff like kit kats to satiate my sweet tooth since they are like 104kcal. I'm not strict on macros, but I'll just actively try to maximise the protein element of my calories each day. I'm currently on 1780kcal a day which is a challenge, but…

Thanks :) So really what I attribute this to is: 1) Treat MFP like it's not optional, log everything no matter how boring it is. Yes you'll slip up on occasion, but stick to it and the calorie deficit will sort you out 2) Lift weights. Doesn't matter how heavy they are, just do some weight lifting. More muscle, even a…

Amazing work

That's wonderful! What a result.

What an amazing achievement, congrats and well done!

Create habits and treat them like they are non-negotiable. I will talk myself out of going to the gym if I think I can justify it, so if I make it a habit, eventually I don't even question it, I just do it

I had two yesterday: - Went for an ultrasound on my kidneys, liver, gall bladder and spleen to see if there was any damage from my years of abusing my body. Liver was a bit fatty, but rest were perfect and the Doctor & Nurse almost fell off their chairs when I said about my weight loss, and told me to keep going and my…

Congrats on your loss! It feels good doesn't it, and it'll only get better with time!
-
Good on you for this, I'm still terrified of going over to the weights section of the gym, to the point I bought my own stuff at home. Don't underestimate what a big step that is.
-
Best of luck with getting to your goal, my Mum did the gastric sleeve surgery and that is not a nice procedure, so props to you for getting it done. Fingers crossed you'll break through :)
-
Great to hear of your success mate, that's an incredible loss. I mean I'm only a fraction of the way into it, but feeling the benefits you talk about already so can't wait to get down to where you are!

Fantastic work!
