  • Rough week this past week with the dreaded virus. So wasn't able to get out and run. :( But I at least managed to stay on top of my intake to maintain my existing weight. Looking forward to a ripper loss week, coming up. :) May 1: 68.6Kg May 8: 67.3kg May 15: 66.9kg May 22: May 28: May 31:
  • I'm loving these posts. They are really encouraging me to take notice of what food is actually doing mentally and emotionally. I've always been a huge believer of food as medicine, clean eating and nutritional healing. But I had a couple of pretty hefty traumas (father dying suddenly and son acquiring a brain injury) about…
  • @RaquelFit2 Thanks 🙂 There looks like some great videos in her uploads. I'll definitely give them a go. 👍
  • Hi @julieguay9 I spent hours looking for an app or a 'plan' to suit an absolute unfit beginner. I found the same as you, it seemed expected that a beginner could already jog 3 minutes! I set up my own interval, using my galaxy watch. I started myself with 15 sets of 30 second jog and 1 minute recovery walks. I did this…
  • Hello @Goodfelines in the menu options go to 'Privacy Centre' then 'Sharing & Privacy' then in 'Newsfeed Sharing' you can select what shows in your newsfeed. At the very bottom of this list are options for the MFP blogs and articles. As for getting sent back to the top of the feed, I think this is just another MFP glitch.…
  • I've been working through Cat de Ram's Yoga modules. She is an amazing instructor. But I do struggle with core work. Does anyone have any recommendations for beginners core strengthening for older people (I'm 50, and not yet ready for what the 20 something's are capable of 😉)…
  • @nicolepenning16 this is probably a good place to start for a 'friend-accountability' post. Hopefully some from here will click your name and add you. 😉🥰
  • Hi Corinna, Welcome! I love connecting with other Australian based members on here. 😉

  • @Mshindi_Dahomey MFP seems to be extremely glitchy where Samsung is concerned. Somedays I can look at my diary and everything is perfect. But then an hour later my steps are not counted or my excercise is duplicated. It will seem like it's corrected itself for a day or two, and then glitch out again. I have reported the…

  • Hahaha Obviously it's the 'running'!🤪. My running is my downfall also. If I don't run most days I go nuts... Gotta earn the chocolate somehow, because the chocolate addiction's not going anywhere soon. 😉
  • Oh Wow! I've lost over 1kg this week! So glad to see the running, walking and yoga are paying off. :) May 1: 68.6Kg May 8: 67.3kg May 15: May 22: May 28: May 31: *My entry may seem early, but here in Australia it is 8th of May (Mother's Day) :)
  • MFP seems to be having several issues relating to Samsung Health links over the past few weeks. I've been having heaps of ongoing problems. Hopefully they are working on fixing it very soon. :)

  • I believed that my bloated, cellulite ridden, flabby excess was now my life. I turned 50 in January and I suspect I may finally be on the flipside of menopause. Solid sleep (longer than a 2hr block) seems, at the moment, to be a thing of the past for me. I started perimenopause quite early (around 38-40years). I've always…
  • I'm nowhere near as fit and active as the rest of you on this thread, but I'm getting there. 😉 My morning workout: 1 - 3.2km Interval run 2 - 9.6km brisk walk 3 - 1hr Iyenga yoga Am aiming to achieve a minimum 5km full run, followed by 5km walk and 1.5hr yoga by the time we enter our Australian springtime.
  • I would love some more Australian based friends! 🙂
  • Welcome @Reallying, I hope you enjoy your time here. :) Hi @jenniethorburn3356 If you are on the website, click on the users name, then click on 'profile', then click on the users "MyFitnessPal profile". You should see the option to add a user in there. If you are doing it from your app, the only way I know how to do it is…

  • Hi Karen, I don't have a specific goal, other than to maintain my exercise and fitness routine, while attempting to eat clean. I'm currently doing a 25min run, a 5km walk and an hour of yoga most days. I look forward to sharing my progress with you, once MFP gets their app sorted out. :)
  • This looks like fun! I'm in. :) Good luck with your goals everyone! May 1: 68.6Kg May 8: May 15: May 22: May 28: May 31:
  • Hi, I find this really interesting. It's not really something that I've given attention too. I know chocolate has always made me feel more energized. However as I'm typing this I'm thinking to myself "But really?... does it though?". It might for 5 minutes, but the 'coming down' from chocolate can be quite draining. I'm a…
  • 20 minute (3km) interval run this morning, followed by a 6.4km brisk walk through our local wetlands. Just finished 60min of Iyenga yoga. I've tried to maintain the above as a daily routine, with biking replacing running on Sundays. :)
  • Hi Karen, Sure, feel free to add me. :)
  • Thanks for responding! :) Up until last week I was getting really sore knees after riding. A friend suggested to raise my seat, so that the toes were only just touching the ground when stationary. This made a HUGE difference to my knees. As for your observation of the weight being now more in my hands. Thankyou! I can't…
  • Just stumbled across this group today. What a shame that it is not very active these days. I would love some friends in MFP who are going through similar experiences to me, regarding fitness and menopause. While I'm not very overweight. I am super keen to at least keep the middle-age-spread at bay and keep my joints moving…
  • Hi, I'm super keen to join in on these monthly challenges. Are they every month? Is it the same challenge each month as above? Or do they change? I'll keep my eyes peeled for the May Challenge. :)
  • Lovely relaxing 20km bike ride this morning, followed by an hour of yoga. The bike riding I'm very new to. Does anyone have any tips for tingling hands and aching wrists? I'd like to ride more frequently, but I need to find a fix for the aching wrists. My bike was purchased from a bike store, where I was properly fitted to…
  • Hi, Are any of you still running? I've only just started and I'm loving it. I'm based in Australia, so it is Winter here. Which I find has made it a little easier for me to get into a routine. At the moment I'm only doing 20mins, 5 days a week. Would love to connect with other runners, to keep me motivated.
  • Hi Sam I've added you. I too am looking to build my friend base on here for motivation and accountability. 😀
  • @AnnPT77 Thankyou so much for sharing the above information. I turned 50 this year and have been on the flipside of menopause for about 5 years. I've always walked regularly and practiced yoga, but I've had a lull over the past 3 years due to a death in the family as well as the impact of Covid lockins. I've been back on…
  • I too, have only recently started on my MFP journey after about 4 years of complete lack of motivation. Good luck in your food and fitness journey. You Got This! 👍
  • Hi everyone. I'm 50 and looking to raise my fitness levels and tone the flab. I try to do a run and practice yoga each day. Would love some friends to help keep me accountable and motivated. 🙂
