Hi everyone! I haven’t been posting (or running much) this past weeks. I obviously needed some time for recovery AND the kids are home on spring break and so a busy week it has been nonetheless. I thought I would post first, then catch up reading. I feel pretty recovered and did my first run post race on the 10th, to…

Hi everyone, I survived the Hannover marathon today. The weather was fabulous. I actually ran the first 8km or so with my running gloves on before stashing them. It never got hot, yet a t-shirt and shorts was enough. The first half was not so bad, but there was quite a lot of wind at some parts. After the half, my pulse…

@angf0679 Have a nice run! Good luck with your hills and weather conditions. I had a 30 minute run planned today, but extended slightly to make it 5km. It is getting really beautiful outside now. Spring is truly coming. My legs were very stiff at the beginning, bit loosened up after about 10 minutes. I spent a long time…

@Scott6255 Haha, it wouldn’t surprise me though if that were true! I hope your knee keeps behaving and it will be true in no time! @martaindale Sorry you still aren’t feeling so good! It’s good you are adjusting based on what your body is telling you! @tarun_yadavA Sorry your run was a struggle! I hope the next one…

@AlphaHowls Thank you for getting us to April! My main goal for April is a marathon PR on Sunday the 6th! …And then a good recovery and some nice weather running outside, with regular gym weight training. I have a half marathon at the beginning of May, so depending on how much the marathon takes out of me, I will try in…

@Mari33a Great job in March! @kgirlhart Funny you mention your wanting to round up your mileage total. That’s what lead me to run 10.2km at the gym today instead of 10 (or less). I figured I should end the month on a round number, since I was so close (I ended with 339km). If I weren’t tapering, I probably would have ran 1…

Hi everyone! @tarun_yadavA That looks like a great night out! @AlphaHowls Good luck for your appointment! I only ran 20 minutes today. I didn’t even really have the 20 minutes, so I was happy just squeezing in a mini run. I didn’t want to take 2 days off in a row. I had the kids accompany me. It was fun. I ran 3.2km.…

@martaindale I hope you recover from the flu quickly!!! It sounds like deferring might be a good idea if it’s possible. @martaindale und @tarun_yadavA We have lots of wood panels, on the ceilings, in the stairwell - where the water was flowing like a waterfall- so unfortunately it looks like we will be waiting to see if a…

@tarun_yadavA Nice video! Agree most of all with the fresh air thing, but that’s not just a gym thing - more a way of life ;). The “no talking” part made me chuckle. Today’s run was a tempo run. I was a bit slow on the part into the wind, and a bit fast when the wind was helping me. It wasn’t easy, but it went well. So…

Hi everyone, Very busy day yesterday that ended with cleaning up a “flood in the house” due to a. pouring rain, b. not having a roof on the house, and c. having workers who don’t know how to read a weather report and thus would think to cover up the gaping hole with plastic before the storm. Instead they put the plastic on…

Hi everyone! I didn’t have the chance to post my run yesterday. My plan was to run 10km easy, then the rest at marathon pace for at least a total of 22km. I ran 24km and everything went well. My heart rate was too high at the end though. I am not sure if that is because I decided to skip my last gel and just wait till I…

Hi everyone! I was supposed to take today off, and I did, but decided I still wanted to go out during my run time, so I walked about half of my usual run route (6km). It was beautiful out. Tomorrow I have my last 20+km run before my race :) on the 6th.

Hi everyone! @martaindale That’s a great idea with the water bottle. @quilteryoyo Thanks for your support! Great job getting out there even when you weren’t feeling it. @kgirlhart Happy Birthday to Pup! This morning I had speed work on my plan. I did 15x1 minute repeats with 1 minutes at an easy pace in between. This is…

Hi everyone! @tarun_yadavA Great job easing back into running! I know that is not your usual style ;)! Today I went on an easy 10.3km run. It was below freezing and quite cold, but the sun was shining and it was the first day of the year that I used my running sunglasses ;). It was a nice crisp run. 219.5/300km for March.
-
@Scott6255 I’m so sorry to hear about your outdoor run!!! That really sucks :(. @ContraryMaryMary Happy birthday! It definitely sounds like you had a great and active time! I went on an easy 10.4km run this morning. It was cold out at around freezing, but a beautiful sunny day! 193.1/300km for March!

Hi everyone! I just finished my long run. It was so hard today and I really had a hard time getting into it, but after km 12, I was soooo far away from my car there was no turning back ;). This was my final run over 30km before the marathon, so I’m glad I got it finished. I am very much looking forward to my rest day…

@ContraryMaryMary I'm glad that you are given a clean bill for running and even encouraged to by your doctor! I hope the disk problem goes away soon! @Zaxa2021 I hope your hip feels better soon! Have you looked into any stretches or exercises for it that may help alleviate the issue and strengthen it? I hope you can run…

@Teresa502 Congratulations on your race. It sounds like it was great fun! @John772016 Congratulations on finally getting to run outside even if only for one day! It must have felt weird after a long winter to be actually making ground ;). Today I went to the gym and met my friend there. We did legs yesterday, so we did…

@quilteryoyo Great job with the gym routine along with everything else! I have to agree with @SummerSkier Nothing beats shoes and puppies, although @tarun_yadavA does post nice food pics ;). @CaityP27 I agree with the others. If it takes slowing it down to make the routine more enjoyable in the beginning, it’s a great…

Hi everyone! I was too busy on the weekend to post my run. We are starting a house renovation project and the roof is coming off, among other things, so we have to move everything out of our top floor and put it somewhere… One of the main uses of our top floor was storage and I had multiple moving boxes of clothes that are…

@ContraryMaryMary Great pictures! It Looks Like a beautiful place to live and walk around! @AlphaHowls I don’t think you’re crazy, I think you’re inspirational :)! @CaityP27 Great job getting in what you can with illness and uncomfortable weather! @kgirlhart Those shoes look very nice!!! I did my long run today. I needed…

Hi everyone! I was having difficulty logging on yesterday, but I did run 8.4km. Today’s run was 9.2km and guess what I saw today while running? Something I have never seen running around before and didn’t even know lived in the forest so close to town. Two wild 🐗 boars! They crossed the path a good 100 meters ahead of me…
-
@Zaxa2021 Nothing wrong with taking a short break to let your body recover! You’ll get to where you want to go with the pace eventually!!! @ContraryMaryMary I’ll take you up on that sunshine offer ;). At least for a day or 2! I’m glad your Garmin is being nice to you, motivating even :). Mine is just being “civil” at the…
-
Hi everyone! Today was my interval day and it’s actually been fun-ish (big emphasis on the -ish) to do them at the gym, so that’s what I did. I am definitely more focused just on running on the treadmill because once I set the pace I don’t have to think about it - just make sure not to fall off the back end of the…

@yirara You are in the February thread :). Check out the one for March: https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10933730/march-2025-monthly-running-challenge/p1?new=1 Good luck on your run today!

Hi everyone! I got my first run for March in 11.11km ;). It was around freezing, but otherwise perfect running conditions. The weather is supposed to warm up a bit this week and there will be sunshine!!! I’m looking forward to it :). 11.11/300 km for March!

Hi everyone! @WarmJellyfish I am sorry to hear about your ribs! Sounds painful. @tarun_yadavA Looks painful ;). Just remember, the skin will grow back stronger. I must admit I had some chaffing issues myself today ;). My workout went so well this morning. It was kind of a magical run. The weather was dark and there were…
-
@Scott6255 I hope your monthly goal comes true!!!! @AlphaHowls Thanks for setting March up! I will again say ca. 300km. I won’t have as much time to do my long runs this month due to work commitments and will be tapering towards the end (Hanover marathon is April 6!), but there are more days than in February and I am…

Today I wanted to get some weight lifting and strides in, so I did a treadmill run. I did a 30 minute warm up, then 15x 1 minute strides with 1 minute recovery. I only truly pushed the pace for the last one. Tomorrow I have a really hard run planned and I am hoping my legs will be fresh enough to be up to the task. I felt…
